Recent autopilot won’t even let me change air comfort settings without warning me to watch the road

Have the same issue. Can't figure out of it can be bypassed. It sucks.

10 seconds is way to long to be looking at the screen. distance = speed × time = 60 miles/hour × 10 sec = 60 miles/hour × 0.0027777777777778 hr = 0.16666666666667 miles = 880.00328083989 feet Average car length is a little under 15 feet 880/15 is approximately 58.6 car lengths! 5 seconds also too long 29.3 car lengths.

Move your eyes, not your head, or wear sunglasses It's not a question of how to configure it, but how to beat it. It's working as designed otherwise

You have approximately seven seconds. And it’s just a warning.

Add sunglasses, but 10 seconds is a long time in car life. Keep an eye on the road while doing these things.

Then when you interrupt FSD they want you to give a speech about why. When I interrupted it the car chimed. I looked at the screen to see what that was all about and it warned me to pay attention. 😒

I have tape over my cabin camera so autopilot just makes me turn the wheel.

Changes are coming in future updates that makes it less strict. But did you realize you're driving a smart car... like, so smart that you can literally press the right scroll wheel and tell it to set your A/C to any temp and fan speed to any speed? Even better, you can just say, "I'm too cold, or I'm too hot, "my feet are hot", etc. Use your car's advanced features and live in the future.

This is one of the worst things about AP. It encourages shutting it off for something like, I dunno, changing a song or inputting a destination.

You can cover the camera and it never nags you again when you use autopilot.

Just use voice commands. I hardly use the touchscreen while driving

you basically cannot use any of the GUI components, which is super annoying as almost every control is accessed through it. It actually sort of demonstrates that GUI based controls are not the best for vehicle operation. They require way too much attention.

lol. My MX FSD is like “IF YOU LOOK AWAY FOR EVEN 1 SECOND I WILL CRASH THIS CAR INTO THE NEAREST TREE.” Meanwhile my Cybertruck FSD is so chill i can write a novel, play some chess, maybe even perform surgery and it will never beep at me a single time.
