Curious to see how this all works out. Is that full scaled production? Especially if the CyberCab or whatever is also supposed to be produced?

Salty-Barnacle- 2026-02-26 22:39

I believe there is demand for the truck but not that strong demand. This seems like Tesla just deprioritizing these build orders because they are obviously lower margin which seems pretty shitty especially after using FOMO as a marketing tactic.

Suspicious-Gur-8453 2026-02-26 22:40

I wonder if this is due purely due to demand or other factors. Interesting none-the-less.

byebyelassy 2026-02-26 22:41

Sawyer loves simpin

AdWilling6217 2026-02-26 22:42

What does this mean for those of us who placed an order with an estimated delivery date of late summer 2026? In other words, should I expect to get a new CT in late summer or is this demand (or lack of production) going to cause issues for everyone?

Beautiful-Clock2939 2026-02-26 22:42

Literally Elon’s playbook for a decade

NatKingSwole19 2026-02-26 22:43

He’s got good news (which is basically copy pasting everything from Tesla), but MAN is the glaze strong.

InterstellarChange 2026-02-26 22:46

If you only build 1, there is a strong demand and long wait. ![gif](giphy|Agofsbt0zzXcvhbXRJ)

BatmanNewsChris 2026-02-26 22:48

Is there an estimated date listed in the Tesla app for you?

red_intellect 2026-02-26 22:48

Could be a headliner maker. If I’m only making a limited quantity and delivering them at slow rate, I can push out deliveries as far out as I need them to go. Need them to go being defined as what sounds best for a headline, stock pump, and shareholders. Let’s wait for the sales numbers to be published before celebrating. On the flip side, this could be healthy demand and legitimate. Can’t be 100% cynical.

BatmanNewsChris 2026-02-26 22:49

Yeah saying it's due to strong demand is just speculation on his part. It could also be that Tesla is deprioritizing these orders because they make less money on a $60,000 truck vs. a $100,000 one.

asterothe1905 2026-02-26 22:51

Would not make sense to wait.

AdWilling6217 2026-02-26 22:52

There is not https://preview.redd.it/18jwkd4v4xlg1.png?width=1059&format=png&auto=webp&s=fab5c7ef2eab9ff032835c1f5ade432604aedec1

morkman100 2026-02-26 22:52

3 guys in India remote controlling some Optimus robots are making these.

Impressive-Revenue94 2026-02-26 22:53

LOL

TheJuiceBoxS 2026-02-26 22:56

Or they don't exist yet and they need to source the different parts. They could just be planning to manufacturer at a later date to ease the logistical burdens.

Lokon19 2026-02-26 22:58

I can’t imagine they are selling many 100k trucks

bustex1 2026-02-26 22:59

So you think everyone’s order is getting pushed back?

just_enjoyinglife 2026-02-26 23:01

$39,999 I will get 1

Suitable_Switch5242 2026-02-26 23:01

So they’re actually going to make use of that 125,000 per year Cybertruck production capacity they built, right? …right?

fastoid 2026-02-26 23:02

+1 here

Music_inn0v4t3 2026-02-26 23:03

Or they just wanted a money injection

TheJuiceBoxS 2026-02-26 23:04

I just think it's a possibility. I don't think anyone really knows. We'll have to wait and see when they start shipping, if they ship (probably will, but you never know)

Ant0n61 2026-02-26 23:04

Aren’t there thousands of these just sitting in lots???

Its-all-downhill-80 2026-02-26 23:06

This is the answer

AngleFun1664 2026-02-26 23:06

It’s basically a kickstarter

Jaowulf 2026-02-26 23:06

Ya they are going to “pump the breaks” on purpose. Most likely forcing people to cancel orders

altarr 2026-02-26 23:09

This is a stupid answer. Collecting 250 dollars from a group of people means absolutely nothing to a company with 45 billion in the bank. Let's be real.

[deleted] 2026-02-26 23:10

[deleted]

Just-Yogurt-568 2026-02-26 23:10

But what I don’t understand is, why not cancel the offer entirely? Why delay the delivery?

StartledPelican 2026-02-26 23:10

This is a different trim than previously produced CTs.

DreKShunYT 2026-02-26 23:10

This is SEED FUNDING for capital like the ROADSTER

jnads 2026-02-26 23:11

At this point it you'd be maybe locking in HW5

Salty-Barnacle- 2026-02-26 23:11

Tesla gets to keep the $250 deposit on orders canceled by the customer or if they refuse to take delivery

yhsong1116 2026-02-26 23:11

You can’t use deposit of cars for something else lol

yhsong1116 2026-02-26 23:11

Not really

ob1spyker 2026-02-26 23:11

If I was a cynic, I could suggest that by stretching out the deliveries over a longer timeline lowers the impact to their gross margins on earnings reports. If they built and delivered everything over one quarter I would expect their margins would take a huge hit and would adversely affect the stock price. If I was a cynic.

altarr 2026-02-26 23:11

You are embarrassing yourself

Ant0n61 2026-02-26 23:12

should just give those away in this deal. I mean they’ve been sitting there for months.

yhsong1116 2026-02-26 23:12

Those are optioned out. This new one is way more basic

[deleted] 2026-02-26 23:14

[deleted]

neevar79 2026-02-26 23:14

Just spoke to a tesla rep, he mentioned this morning when a customer of his placed the order for this model, it showed Sep 2026

mightymighty123 2026-02-26 23:14

They still have my $100

Ant0n61 2026-02-26 23:14

looked like the same package. They need to redesign this thing and make a smaller version that’s less boxy while keeping the stainless steel.

Superb_Persimmon6985 2026-02-26 23:14

That's just dumb....they making a killing from $250 deposits?

Superb_Persimmon6985 2026-02-26 23:15

Lol $250 are not even a drop on the bucket

Puiucs 2026-02-26 23:17

"strong demand" - pffff hahahahaha

Superb_Persimmon6985 2026-02-26 23:17

How many of those 100k trucks fo you think they are selling? Enough to push these out a year? NO FUCKING WAY. if there was that much demand for the 100k truck the 60k would not exist.

Superb_Persimmon6985 2026-02-26 23:18

Exactly, definitely not a years worth. This new trim wouldn't exist if there was such high demand for current trims

Itachi_Uchiha0515 2026-02-26 23:18

“Strong demand” is a funny way of saying they wanna pocket the money for longer

TortillaChip 2026-02-26 23:20

Yeah but it's in Saudi

jedi2155 2026-02-26 23:23

Or hoping that the delay will convince them to pony up the extras for the AWD 'premium" model.

Consistent-Carob-641 2026-02-26 23:26

This may be a stupid question, but if I ordered in the June window, and the confirmation said anticipated delivery in June, do we still think June deliveries will happen? Or is this all of production is being slated for later now? I know there is no way to know, but what are others thinking?

Hollowbound 2026-02-26 23:27

I wouldn’t get one for $9,999. Maybe if I could even trade it for an S or X.

jedi2155 2026-02-26 23:27

Not anymore, Tesla reduced CT production a while ago so they have been on a minimal production where there arent inventory CT. If you order a new CT AWD today its still about a month out if you order now. There are some cyberbeast tri-motors in inventory. Tesla stopped overproducing cybertrucks near the middle of last year so there arent extra CT's sitting on lots anywhere.

jedi2155 2026-02-26 23:28

There arent any, they've been sold.

jedi2155 2026-02-26 23:29

For Premium AWD or standard AWD?

AdWilling6217 2026-02-26 23:31

Standard AWD

__JustPeople__ 2026-02-26 23:32

Mmph! The cyber trucks tires probably cost more than my Model Y anyways!

jedi2155 2026-02-26 23:32

Not sure, i suspect depend on when you order and when Tesla realized oh shit and updated the timing calculator. I'd estimate at most 1 to 2 month delay if you ordered early when this offer was made.

MightBeJerryWest 2026-02-26 23:33

Even at absolute peak covid demand, the Model Y did not extend that far out. Part of it is demand, but it's gotta be just lower overall output for this trim.

jedi2155 2026-02-26 23:33

2 decades, same thing with Tesla Roadster 2008

smart-asian-man 2026-02-26 23:35

hm so sales were low before only because of the price, not because of politics which doesn't affect the quality of the car or its looks which are subjective which is what reading only Reddit would make you believe

karma_the_sequel 2026-02-26 23:36

That’s one way to cool down demand.

Jaowulf 2026-02-26 23:42

Elon already “said for the next 10 days” and on the website it says offer ends 2-28. They won’t pull that back, they will just push order way way out to deter last minute orders for the next two days

a3ZKdvQnhjDt9jJ 2026-02-26 23:44

How do people keep falling for these obviously underhanded tactics

Tradetheday2093 2026-02-26 23:50

Or maybe they need to readjust manufacturing to ensure they can lower the cost basis of the $59k CTs to maximize the current demand. Imagine HW5 by that time of delivery!

Ant0n61 2026-02-26 23:51

To who? I don’t see anymore cybertrucks than I did a year ago. Everyone who wanted one got it on release it seems

jedi2155 2026-02-26 23:53

Ive seen a ton more. Its crazy now that i see as many as 2 to 3 cybertrucks next to each other on the freeway now (Southern California btw). I see one or 2 in every parking lot i go to these days.

DigitalJEM 2026-02-26 23:57

US Government SpaceX Xai And some repurposed as Tesla service loaners.

DigitalJEM 2026-02-26 23:58

Me too. I’d defter one at 40k

fratzba 2026-02-27 00:07

Maybe I’m overly cynical, but perhaps this is all just a ploy to show the stock market how much demand and backlog Tesla has. Naw, they would never do anything like that 😂

Just-Yogurt-568 2026-02-27 00:14

Seems like a gamble, if they really don't want to sell the vehicle at this price.

Just-Yogurt-568 2026-02-27 00:16

Yea fair enough I guess. Still I'd say this is an indication there's decent demand. But I agree with the theory that the delivery date is not pushed solely because they can't build them fast enough.

SarcasticNotes 2026-02-27 00:16

They already weren’t delivering until June when announced this model, so slightly different

BlueBeacon887 2026-02-27 00:19

I imagine it still will happen around then. Historically for other vehicles, the date you see on the website is just for new orders, not existing ones.

bill_257 2026-02-27 00:22

The 100k trim is still 3-6 weeks. Only the cheap one with a year lead time

2CommaNoob 2026-02-27 00:23

Nah, there’s isn’t a 14 month demand. I don’t think any car has demand problems right now, they are artificially making less of them.

East_Yellow8389 2026-02-27 00:28

Elon is full of manure again lol. Hopefully somebody can get it before the roadster!

CTrandomdude 2026-02-27 00:35

What makes it underhanded?

TaxFraudCPA 2026-02-27 00:37

Aaaand now everyone will cancel their orders.

a3ZKdvQnhjDt9jJ 2026-02-27 00:40

The first thing was the FOMO bs, and then when you actually sell a few, you all of the sudden don’t have the stock and then the customers have to wait? So either you were so unaware it would sell (right…) or you had no intention of selling that many, and you were only looking to get money out of the five people dumb enough to fall for it all

CTrandomdude 2026-02-27 00:40

Completely different situation. The first deposits were made without knowing the actual price, specs, or range. Just a rough estimates. When it was actually released Tesla did not meet expectations on any of the specs. This time people know exactly what they are getting and when. I would not expect cancellation to be an issue at all.

SF_E60M5 2026-02-27 00:41

Man gotta love all the speculation in this thread 😂😂😂. All of it could be true or non of it could be true. All throw my speculation theory. There’s also that crowd of people who were waiting for a massive price drop in order to purchase one. 🤷‍♂️

CTrandomdude 2026-02-27 00:47

I think it’s just as simple as underestimating the demand at that price point. Not sure if there are any supply constraints either. They are likely trying to keep the factory production at a consistent rate and not committing to added staff and hours that may not be needed long term.

passiveMelon1 2026-02-27 00:50

I doubt it's due to strong demand, it's due to them wanting people to cancel their order

sk8terboy111 2026-02-27 00:58

I won’t need one until March the earliest (2027 when my lease is up), I would reserve if this is actually true. All I see is Available when I go to reserve. I’m not going to be thrilled if I do this and get an earlier date? Any suggestions for someone in my position? I can just wait and roll the dice as well but figured it may be worth it for $250, assuming it’s really a 2027 delivery.

FixMedical9278 2026-02-27 01:02

If they collected 1 million reservations that's like half of one percent of their available cash in the bank.

Lostnode7 2026-02-27 01:03

I'll take a used model S plaid for that price

Lucky7366 2026-02-27 01:32

Single Motor RWD like they said at first. Maybe a smaller battery. They could do it. Though without the 7500 it might be a few ticks over 40k.

cac2573 2026-02-27 01:41

He has a strong financial incentive

Adorable_Wolf_8387 2026-02-27 01:41

Oh c'mon. Automakers typically batch them. They had at least 5 orders.

EricDArneson 2026-02-27 01:42

Are people really going to wait? I wonder how many will cancel and not reorder because the price went up.

Adorable_Wolf_8387 2026-02-27 01:42

They might never exist. The ordering page likely has some language saying they may never produce your vehicle.

Ant0n61 2026-02-27 01:53

SoFlo has a ton of teslas, mine included, but not seeing more cybertrucks here. Granted California goes extra hard for teslas

dildyj 2026-02-27 01:54

I thought there were thousands just sitting ?

Ant0n61 2026-02-27 02:00

lmao no kidding Just saw this post about SpaceX https://www.reddit.com/r/spacex/s/vsJVD1mT2U And there’s just endless line of cybertrucks at starbase right now.

dumbledayum 2026-02-27 02:09

Make M3 look like CT please :)

Suckers

TheJiggie 2026-02-27 03:03

Where are those Goal posts going?!

Dizzy-Somewhere8776 2026-02-27 03:17

It’s possible that the ram shortage is becoming an issue.

THATS_LEGIT_BRO 2026-02-27 03:37

Just dumb down current inventory with software and get rid of the glutton of unsold Cybertrucks.

serega_12 2026-02-27 04:10

Now you're speaking Toyota language!

astros1991 2026-02-27 04:13

So, the demand for a Cybertruck is there, it’s just the pricing that’s not meeting this customer base requirement. Also glad to see that people want one despite the polarising design.

Megapsychotron 2026-02-27 04:36

Still waiting on my Roadster...

Bob_Lelys 2026-02-27 05:34

That just means the demand exists, the price is the issue. In this case, was the issue

billionaireboysclubs 2026-02-27 05:57

By the time you’re waiting until April 2027, they’ll announce a lower priced version with more features and you’ll regret it.

mailwasnotforwarded 2026-02-27 06:15

Strong demand? pretty sure theres still a higher demand of S/X even with the discontinuation

FactorPrimary7117 2026-02-27 07:11

Hype after many many years

Antique-Big3928 2026-02-27 11:05

Not if you’re paying for it today

ObeseSnake 2026-02-27 11:34

You don't pay for the Cybertruck until 2027. You are only putting out $250 now.

ObeseSnake 2026-02-27 11:41

A little over a month away from the reveal.

beerissweety 2026-02-27 14:39

Slowing production to crease a fake scarcity? Stop CT and restart the MS and maybe the MX

Fidget11 2026-02-27 15:19

And it will fly right… Elon said…

WhoopDareIs 2026-02-27 15:19

Idiots.

Fidget11 2026-02-27 15:22

I doubt it’s due to demand, I think they are artificially constricting production to create an impression of scarcity and demand. I also would totally buy that they want people to stop ordering them or cancel orders for them so they can sell the higher priced versions to those same people because this low cost model undermines the value proposition for the higher priced ones.

R5Jockey 2026-02-27 18:18

Ya know… you really gotta hand it to Elon. He’s a master at getting people to give him money for nothing but a promise of something later on.

[deleted] 2026-02-27 21:05

They forgot how to ramp

setzer 2026-02-27 21:10

Yea it doesn’t make much sense. There’s no way demand suddenly spiked that much to cause a 14 month delay. Either intentionally holding back to sell higher priced models or they have run into huge production problems.

GoGetThatThing 2026-02-28 20:09

I hope reservations are refundable. Way to cook books to show demand for cars.. when it comes for delivery, I bet more money will be asked.

padarmani 2026-03-01 11:54

Where you guys are finding these $60k cybertrucks?

padarmani 2026-03-01 11:55

padarmani 2026-03-01 11:56

You dont pay the whole amount before being shipped

padarmani 2026-03-01 11:59

padarmani 2026-03-01 15:15

namognamrm 2026-03-01 16:02

namognamrm 2026-03-01 16:08
