Tesla Model Archive - a side project to easily find and compare specs by year, model, and trim

alanofthefence | 2026-02-25 21:24 | 62 views

When looking to buy my used Tesla, I found it pretty difficult to find the differences between years and trim levels for the model 3. Since I couldn’t find a reliable source for this data, I made this archive to quickly find specs for each year, model, and trim. You can also do a side-by-side comparison to see what changed. This is just a fun side project for me. Any feedback to improve it is greatly appreciated.

Didn't see model 3 option in 2020 and the 2019 only shows standard and standard range plus. Very cool idea though.

Thank you for the heads up! I will correct the database to show those missing models. I really appreciate the feedback

This is why I love the Tesla community. This is a great idea and I'm sure will be super useful for many people out there.

This is pretty cool, I was thinking if something like this exist. I got asked a few times if I would recommend getting a tesla especially older ones and this is an amazing comparison tool. A few future recommendations, show retrofitability like 2018 cars won’t work with matrix headlights 2020 cars can be retrofitted and 2022 cars come with them stock and whatever else can be retrofitted. Also explanations may be nice, mcu1-3 is good but knowing the differences would be better, like 1->2 multiple waypoints and 2->3 got fullscreen visualizations. Amazing tool, keep up the good work!

This is a great idea! Any chance you could add the ability to extract all the model year and trim based on the VIN? That’ll help a lot of users (if possible) since if can be sometimes tricky to get the year specifically for a newbie. And helpful when looking for 2nd hand market as well since it’ll just be easy to research.

Also, in 2024 there was highland model 3 long range that was RWD. This is the current premium version

Great ideas. Will definitely add a VIN decoder. Lots of updates getting pushed to the website tonight. Thank you for the advice

I just went to compare the 2025 model 3 performance (looks like there's no 2026 m3p?) to the 2026 model 3 premium, did not know that the 2025 m3p has a smaller battery (78) than the 2026 m3 (82). Couldn't find this info anywhere on the Internet that shows the 2025 having 78.

Does it also work for EU models?

alanofthefence 2026-02-26 18:54

I don’t believe any of the specs in this database should change between EU and North America, but please let me know if you see anything that differs. From what I understand, the charge port, airbags, and other minor changes were made for the EU market but not anything major that I’m tracking like battery type, battery size, etc. If there are significant differences then maybe I’ll add an EU branch in a future update

missing the 2025 model 3 rwd long range variant
