That's my guess. Tongue weight limitation. Is the payload limit different too?

Cheaper suspension. No airbags etc.

Is the payload capacity the same or no? If the suspension is a factor that would definitely be the case.

Maybe size of brakes?

No one's tows with it. It's a city truck for hauling

Same tire diameter doesn’t mean the tires are rated for the same capacity. Durability, heat performance and structural integrity all play a role, and a cheaper truck means they may have needed to put tires on it that aren’t rated the same as what’s available via the 20”.
The higher profile (“size”) of the 18” may translate into worse lateral stiffness under sway event, etc.

It's hard to read the load rating off of the current pictures available, but I doubt it.
The main difference here is coil springs versus air springs; choosing a spring rate that's still comfortable unloaded makes it harder to offer as much max capacity.

I laughed at that. Have a good day. 🤣

Airbag>coil springs

They said it's the coil suspension that's the limiting factor. Maybe aftermarket can fit some airbags or helper springs for the rear.

What a misinformed generalization. I've towed an enclosed trailer from Florida to Nevada and still pull the trailer around town to pick things off or make drop offs at the dump. I've also taken mine on off road trails a handful of times (sans trailer, of course). It is also a fantastic grocery getter :D

I mean yeah but every other diesel truck will be more capable for towing then the cybertruck. That's not a knock against it it's not what it's designed for
