AP/EAP hasn’t been updated in forever. The closest thing you’ll be able to use is smart summon which is based on V12

I’m on v12 on my 2018 Model 3, so that’d be the same. I never use smart summon.
How does it drive on the highway? Is it similar to FSD?

try eap on your current model 3 then. it will be the same. IMO it is way worse than even v12

to clarify, since it hasn’t been updated in so long, eap is the exact same on HW3/4 and I think even HW2/2.5

Something I’m confused, so you have the 2018 M3 with FSD so instead of getting a new Juniper and transferring, you are thinking of getting a Model 3 HW4 with EAP? Then you’d prob sell the 2018 M3 right with FSD? I don’t know, doesn’t feel like you are getting a good deal by going with the car with EAP when you’ve already paid for FSD and can just transfer to the juniper. But I do get the money factory.
But if you do the FSD transfer, you get a model y instead of older model 3 (non highland),
Also, I don’t think 2024 Model 3 would come with EAP on HW4. I think EAP was on much older cars.

Juniper Model Y is very nice and much quieter and likely on par with your 2024 Mach E. That and HW4 FSD?
I would test drive the 2026 Juniper first. I took the leap and I'm impressed.

Can I still use EAP on my model 3 if I have FSD? Don’t remember seeing an option for that?
I’ll check it out tomorrow

If you have EAP, it brings the FSD subscription down to $49. You can buy many years of FSD with the savings.

Juniper is fantastic which is why I thought about upgrading, but I don’t think it’s $25k better than a 2024 model 3 . I could sub FSD FOR $49 a month, too if I got it.
I’m curious how well EAP does

yeah you have that right. its a difference of at least $25k for me which is why I’m thinking about it.
if EAP on HW4 works fairly well on highways, I’m fine with it. don’t need to have FSD.
i would lose lifetime FSD and have EAP instead on a much newer model 3 with AWD and warranty. though I could sub to FSD for $49 a month when needed.

Yeah I get it now. The difference in cost is significant. EAP might be better than the standard AP that used to come with Teslas. One thing I’m more concerned is if it actually comes with EAP, since it’s 2024 Model 3 and they didn’t offer EAP that time.

AP on a HW4 car is going to be the same as your 2018. It hasn’t been updated in forever.
All EAP adds is lane changes. It’s no where close to FSD.

The model Y prices are a bit outrageous right now

Looks like Tesla got rid of EAP in 2024, so it's possible that the 2024 Model 3 could have it. I'm asking the sales guy to send me a screen.

Oh interesting, I thought it was on the same tech stack, but looks like it isn't.

I have an "Autosteer (beta)" option in my car. It actually recognizes traffic lights and will stop and resume driving at them, with parking assist, etc. Is this what EAP is referred to now? I actually thought it did a great job today when I drove. I was surprised that it recognized traffic lights.
