Through the Tesla app, go into climate settings switch it on or even press one of the 5 hot keys with the fan icon. I like clock on climate to actually set the temp and also turn on heated and steering. Otherwise the hotkey just sets it to whatever was last set.

Though I'm sure some modules would give errors and need to be replaced. Easier to take a total lost. But just saying. I'm sure it would drive away. If it lets you in. After the water recede I would try and move it with the windows down. That's just me though.

Obviously electrical motors can be submerged… so could you in theory dry the car out and it would drive??? Obviously it would be dosgusting and never smell the same again but would it drive again?

I was going to be unable to work without it! luckily a locksmith opened the door using the emergency handles in the front and we had to climb in and shimmy all the way to the emergency trunk opener
I had left before the storm hit and was only gone for like 4 hours. when I came back the street wasn’t even flooded at all anymore and I literally parked our other car on the opposite side of the street walked up to the car lol! battery turned on for a little while after then got fully cooked

Odd, the battery is completely sealed. I bought a 2021 M3 SR+ 2 years ago with a rebuilt title. It was submerged about 50%. Well above the battery. All that was needed was a new airbag electronics module and the carpet needed to be removed, cleaned and treated against mold. Then I had to pay Tesla's $1,800 ransom to 'certify the high voltage system' so that it could fast charge again. Car has been flawless since. Bought at 18k miles, now has 47k

Salt water or fresh water from storm flood? Salt water, everything screwed. Fresh water, the RX-7 is getting rebuilt, everything else getting recycled. Going by the sunvisor in the front window of the only car here worth being concerned for, it was parked when the rain started, so hopefully the path air would take to the inlet will have prevented the water rising too far and making it past either side of the manifolds.

Comparing a 30 year old purpose built rotary sports car to a modern commuter EV that drives itself is a stupid argument not even worth having. That’s my point. I’ve been driving Teslas for 7 years. They are amazing. My 26 model 3 is the best car I’ve ever owned, I’m not making that argument. ‘Better’ is subjective. Compare a model 3 to new BMW 3 series? Sure. It’s better to me. Compare it to a ‘96 rotary Mazda? Just stupid.
You can still compare them bro. "Better" IS subjective, but there's \*objectively\* more people that \*subjectively\* prefer commuter cars over sports cars. So, on average, most people will say the Model 3 is better. Even though it's subjective. The proof is in the sales numbers over the last 5 decades. As the great lil dicky once said, "why can't fruit be compared!?" re: "Apples and Oranges".

Dude he said his battery is officially non-operational. What’s a $200 damage compared to a whole battery replacement/car just to get his work stuff out of the trunk by dropping the back seats. Sure he can until warranty claim but if that work stuff is urgent - he probably can’t wait and I’d try to get the window claimed under warranty too
The battery might be non-operational due to merely the pyrofuse being blown. But thats not the point. You deminish the residual value which might get you in trouble with insurance, bc. you bet they will charge you 1000$ extra for that or sth.
1st world problems. 🙄 we pay so much in taxes and this still happens. The city should pay for it. No excuse why a single or even a couple days of hard rain would cause it to flood that bad. Bet nothing will get done to prevent this from happening in the future.
