Advice on buying my first tesla

Relative-Pizza9819 | 2026-02-17 20:52 | 9 views

I want to buy a used tesla model 3 performance 2021, the price is good for the car, but i have some concerns, the battery health is 83%. Is it still a good deal ? How much degradation of miles/km should i expect. The car milage is 45k kilometres/ 27,961 miles

Not the worst degredation. You haven't mentioned milage to compare too. Maybe this would be helpful https://insideevs.com/news/723734/tesla-model-3y-battery-capacity-degradation-200000miles/[battery capacity chart](https://insideevs.com/news/723734/tesla-model-3y-battery-capacity-degradation-200000miles/)

The price is good for a reason. As someone who has owned two ‘21 model 3’s the build quality is shit, and it’s HW3. If you can find a HW4 Model 3 I could seriously consider going that direction, generally better build quality post refresh. The range on a performance M3 in ‘21 was already pretty bad even at 100% capacity. At 83% it will be really bad.

If i am not mistaken- 2021 Models have some of the highest HV battery failures. If you care for FSD, like osmeone said, try to scoop up a HW4 to futur proof.

If you lurk tesla posts long enough you see the battery failure posts and they always have 1 common denominator. The vehicle is a 2021 or older.
