BYD S8 is a two-door hardtop convertible sports car produced by the Chinese automaker BYD Auto between 2009 and 2010. It is famously known for its design, which heavily resembles E
Powered by a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder petrol engine (BYD483QB) producing roughly 140 hp (103 kW) and 186 Nm of torque. It featured a two-stage folding hard-top that opens or closes in approximately 25 seconds. Designed with a red and black color scheme and blue LED dashboard lighting. It included high-end features for its time, such as a NAVI voice navigation system, backup camera, and keyless start. Despite its ambitious design as China's first "home-grown" hardtop convertible, the S8 saw very limited commercial success, with only a small number of units (reportedly fewer than 100) actually sold before production ceased.
