You Canadians will just love the cars. I have one myself after being a faithful VW customer for decades.

Not sure. We have both in my household. A BYD minivan and a Highland. You'll have to pry the Model 3's keycard from my cold dead hands.

If you have money to spare Tesla is a better option maybe, but BYD has a ton of budget options that blow Tesla out of the water when it comes to cost benefit

CarPlay is a big thing for me so I could never get a Tesla. Well, that and the gremlin at the helm.

BYD is projected to sell 50,000 cars in Australia this year, increasing year on year. Tesla is predicted to sell 30,000, decreasing year on year.

Not gunna downvote a valid opinion. We have a Tesla 3, brand new as a hire car while our rear ended BYD Atto 3 ‘25 gets repaired. My thoughts are that the Tesla is way to actually drive. The assist is better (mostly), it’s way more zippy and handles much better, better visibility out of the cabin. But I think that’s where it ends. In every other way i really don’t like it. The AC is really mid, no CarPlay, no indicator stalk, the glass roof completely fry’s my chrome dome, the stereo isn’t anywhere near as good, the changing fwd/rev on the screen or tap the brake thing is an idiotic choice that is not at all consistent. There’s more o could list off but yeah I guess iPhones weren’t great because of edgy design too.

Elon musk doesn't have as much hate here as he does in Canada either. I think byd (and kia + Hyundai) are going to walk all over Tesla in the coming few years.

Yes, but the hate is nothing like Canada. I'm Aussie and Canadian and the anti trump hate here isn't close to what it is in Canada. I work with a shocking amount of pro Trump people unfortunately who when pressed don't really have a clue what's happening over there

BYD is converting step by step all their Modells into 800V platforms, with bigger batteries and more powerful motors...for the same price... This is where the Tesla topic will end. An atto 3 Evo with 20min charging time, over 400hp and around 500km range... And hopefully soon here in EU none of those stupid taxes ... This will shake the market here. Atto 2 is next this year, the other will follow next year... Statement by my dealer
