On my seal it's on the steering wheel
If it's a 2025+ model it doesn't have this feature unfortunately
User-interface seems to be different too compared to my EU-model. All the way on the top right corner, are these "drive profiles" or something ?
Swipe down from the top left or right
unless you re-bind it to be a camera button :D
Ah didn't know this
It is not
Everywhere i searched was said that all sealion models have it
No rotation motor for 2026+ model
Please explain.
They are discontinuing it, so it's unlikely yours have it. You can always try by voice command
Just say byd rotate screen :-)
No i think its because its a chinese version
Tried to but didnt work either
Then your model likely isn't equipped with it
They are profiles yeah. My Seal U (UK) got them in update 2.1 this week. Haven’t set them up yet but they seem promising. Looks like we can program seat memory and mirrors (and more) per profile so when you unlock the car with a cloud key, it will auto-switch. Particularly useful for me since my 5”5 wife seems to think she’s 4”5 and getting in the car after her is painful.
It’s on my steering wheel as well. Seal AWD.
I tried but it didnt work. Probably it doesnt have it.
Mine doesn't have the rotated screen version. I like it in landscape anyway.
If you have a dashcam, hold the button in for a while
Did they give any reason? I suppose they collect data about this and maybe not many people use it
Not anything publicly, but given how little they supported it themselves, I'd imagine it's just a cost measure thing. Personally quite enjoyed it for the navigation app, the ratio is much better for navigation than landscape, but of course when they can't be arsed to make the support work in Auto or CarPlay I can't use it anyway 99% of the time
Why? Useless feature?
Can you remap the buttons ?!
I’d say so. CarPlay and Android auto are not compatible with the screen in portrait mode. In my point of view, it’s just useless.
I have the 2025 SeaLion 7 and the button is in the bottom-left corner of the display. I’ve had the car 6 months and have used it exactly once to see what it does. You’re not going to miss it.
It’s on the user manual, BTW
Oh! And that does what? Take a still shot of the current view? Any advantage of doing this over just referencing the video? Not sure I quite get it yet.
Rarely used feature, moat people only report using it when they first buy the vehicle, demonstrating to people that the screen rotates. It was a mostly unused feature which saves money to remove. AA and CP not working in portrate it was a big factor in this. If portrate mode allowes AA/ CP on top and then a resized desktop on the bottom (or vise versa) it would have been more utilised.
What year model? The latest display does not turn on
I was so enamored with that feature when I first saw it. Then I only used it to to show it off to other people. Then, cause I've got a Samsung fold that requires a special phone mount, I can't even rotate it anymore.
Try voice command
On the Seal at least, you can remap the rotation button on the wheel to operate the OEM dashcam. I believe it's short press to capture a still and long press to lock the current video recording.
It’s nice to have the option, I like it when using waze but useless with polarised sunglasses and a feature I can definitely live without
I'm still confused regarding this. - What's the benefit of a still if you have the video anyway? - What does "lock" the video mean? Stops it from getting replaced by other footage or something?
Yep, it locks the current video and saves it so it doesn't get overwritten by new footage.
