Planning to get a entry level luxury sedan in around 50-60 Lakhs on road

Fast-Watercress445 | 2026-03-11 12:56 | 1 views

Hey guys, so this is my first post on reddit and currently i am in serious problem of taking a decision for which car should i go for…. Help me out guys🙏 We are having a strict budget of around 50-60 Lakhs on road Kolkata,WB for a entry level luxury sedan for daily city usage , we already own a 2.8L diesel Toyota Fortuner and 2.4L diesel Innova Crysta so that’s we want a good sedan now upon researching the market we came in a list of total 5 cars - Toyota Camry, BYD Seal ( Performance Variant), Audi A4 ( Technology Variant), Mercedes A Class Limo, BMW 2 Series My thoughts after visiting all 5 showrooms Toyota Camry - We are getting for around 51 lakhs on road here in Kolkata after all discounts, the car is excellent and matches all our requirements as like good spacious interior, elegant exterior design and necessary features, also it has a hybrid engine so great fuel efficiency also but despite of matching our requirements the only thing bothering me is that it’s still a Toyota after spending around 50-60 lakhs and people are not that much aware, so bit concerned about the brand image BYD Seal (Performance variant) - It’s absolutely a rocket, i mean 500+ bhp feels like more than a supercar and also interiors feels a car from 2050, great comfort and cabin space also, only thing is that BYD is a new brand in India and i am worried about the after sales service Audi A4 (Technology variant) - we are getting it for around 57-58 lakhs after all heavy discounts by Audi, The car full satisfies our requirements but a car which costs around 50-60 lakhs specially Audi the A4 interiors feels outdated now other than that everything is great, cause we are not really concerned on the service costs, resell value and reliability factor Mercedes A Class - This one we are getting for exactly 50 lakhs on road after discounts, the car does not provide good cabin space or rear seat comfort and also the engine does not feel powerful at all so we are not really considering Mercedes BMW 2 series - Same story as like Mercedes we are getting for 50 lakhs no such discounts by BMW in Kolkata, the car feels too tight and not spacious at all and the engine does not justify the price tag of 50 lakhs it just has a logo of BMW nothing else, that’s why we have dumped BMW also from the list Mainly we are confused a lot between Toyota Camry and Audi A4, Please guys help me out to make my decision!!!😭😭

Camry if you want comfort and mileage. Its spacious and refined. Using Camry since 2024 Jan. I had considered Superb and A4. But Camry won out in the end. Benz does not compare. Seal is a good fun option if you dont mind electric.

I think the seal is great for the price but get it of you want an ev because if you choose an ev as it looked like the best option then you will regret it due to range anxiety or charging time or other ev specific issue(more tech=more issues). Definitely a drivers car. Get the toyota if you want a no nonsense car and plan on being in the back seat most of the time. As for other 3 I have always liked bmws and think bmw is the best but you might have a different view. All 3 are fwd as far as I know and have similar hps so it depends totally on your brand preference. Given your requirements and experience with each car I think you should choose between audi or seal.

A class and 2 series are just carrying tag names. Instead of A4 and camry go for A6. Audi dealers are giving hell lot of discounts on A6, you just have to negotiate with them.

Fast-Watercress445 2026-03-11 14:33

Yep I have heard a lot about the crazy discounts given by Audi in A6, i will look forward into it thanks for your suggestion :)

Fast-Watercress445 2026-03-11 14:36

Yes seal is a good option and actually as it would be for city usage only so no issues with electric but the main concern is how would the BYD perform with the after sales service factor and also reliability of this brand, so far Camry is still coming out the best in terms of all aspects. Thanks for you suggestion 😄

Fast-Watercress445 2026-03-11 14:48

Yes i might go with Audi cause i am not really sure about the after sales service factor of BYD and also how’s it gonna last to me if i keep the car for about 5-6 years. Thanks for your suggestion 😄

The new fully electric Merc CLA is releasing, chekc that out too, I have it my radar for next year

nimajjibewarsi 2026-03-12 02:56

Byd has reliable after sales. Don't worry about that. Choose that or the new CLA electric that is launching. (Assuming the low GC doesn't bother you)

Fast-Watercress445 2026-03-12 05:02

Yes I saw the new CLA electric but i guess if i get an ev then i might go with BYD only because you are telling there after sales service is reliable. Thanks for your suggestion 😄

nimajjibewarsi 2026-03-12 05:19

Id choose the seal as well. I loved the car. And compared to merc, already has more features. And the rear seat is comfortable vs the merc Only competition is the Camry. But again, byd scores better in so many ways. I'm so jealous of you. It's literally the only car that caught my attention since my family sold the CLA diesel a few years ago
