Sealion 7 infotainment volume!

Final-Roll-1478 | 2026-01-23 07:48 | 20 views

Hi all does anyone feel like the sound system volume is capable of so much more? I mean it's fine when maxed out at 39. I just feel like it could give more. I love to feel the Bass haha. Maybe BYD have put a threshold limit on its true performance.

Not sure what you are using by DAB is so loud at 5-6. FM/AM is the same at about 15-20. Mostly depends on the source

I have the same issue with the dolphin, its got a limiter on it for sure - which is much more noticeable with bassy music (I love electronic music). I've experimented with the loud setting, different preset EQ's and then my own custom EQ tunes and its still hitting a limiter or compressor brick wall at high volumes with bassy music. Annoying to have that potentially hard coded into the EQ, and kinda weird for a car stereo generally speaking.

I mainly use Android Auto for audio streaming from a Samsung Flip 6. Youtube music, Samsung audio player. Its true that different sources from them give different volume levels. What i have noticed is the system seems quieter in the mornings and louder in the evenings which is bizarre i know lol I hope soon BYD can address this limiter because i am sure it is in place. Maybe for good reasons like preserve the battery? If they don't well its time for someone to hack the system please!!

Yap. They sold me on the sound system before I got the car but after I got it I feel like my Renault Captur was capable of much higher volume than the Sealion 7. Sure the audio quality is very good, but it's not loud at all.

I had an Audi Etron with B&O and Wow that was killer haha. The BYD Dynaudio is great and i am happy with it for now. Thinking to swap to a Denza Z9 GT when it hits the UK!!!!!!!

There is a post I saw when I got my seal that made a massive difference. I don't know if it works for the sealion, but I noticed a massive increase in volume output. https://www.reddit.com/r/BYD/s/ZT5fc5wioX

Thank you. I'll check it out when I get a chance.

The new Android Auto 16 is a gamechanger, I can feel the bass in my chest if you combine it with power Equalizer and some Spotify setting changes. I listen to music around 10-12 and people outside can def hear the bass

I have the opposite with my Dolphin. [https://www.reddit.com/r/BYD/comments/1qa0f43/notice\_to\_byd\_dolphin\_owners\_audio\_issue/](https://www.reddit.com/r/BYD/comments/1qa0f43/notice_to_byd_dolphin_owners_audio_issue/) Impossible to put more than 10 otherwise it explodes my ears.

Yes brother Yes!!! Wow this has just completely unlocked the full power of the sound system. Now it's banging!!

Remember to turn off normalization in Spotify if you use that. I still feel like the speakers could be better - but they're much better compared to 6 months ago. But I def enjoy feeling the bass now.

But Power amp Equalizer+ Android Auto 16, makes it much better This is the settings i use https://preview.redd.it/lxeirwup0hfg1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=dc86c15049153a503791691ac07d04af16e85755

Panklas 2026-01-25 10:55

As a dane where both Dynaudio and B&O is build, it's good to hear that you enjoy both speaker system's

So am I correct in thinking that the main issue here is with the input source in this case my phone and disabling the Bluetooth absolute volume setting. Which then unlocks complete volume control and EQ.

Final-Roll-1478 2026-01-25 11:22

I asked my favourite assistant Grok and she is an angel 😇 Yeah, disabling absolute volume hands control back to your connected device—like your phone or whatever's paired. When it's on, Android just locks the output to whatever level the source wants, usually to save distortion in crappy speakers. Turn it off and your car stereo—or any EQ app—can actually take over. That's why Power EQ suddenly works wonders now. Glad it's roaring better.
