BYD OBD port with lightfoot tracker

UK Fleet driver here, with a very nice seal excellence which is being spoiled by a tracker from a company called Lightfoot which market itself as a driving coaching aid and in reality, is completely shit. I was driving in Eco mode, and having decent enough range. The tracker goes live and I can't get the car moving without the tracker talking bollocks to me. Thinking that with no rev counter it must be doing something with throttle position, I go into Sports mode. lo and Behold, it doesn't scream at me, I'm scoring 98% plus withe the shit app but hey...my range is now worse with the same temps and conditions. it's mad. I'm running late at OTA, but my question is there a way to nerf the OBD or somehow encrypt it so this crap device no longer functions? any suggestions? It's ludicrous that a company that gives it the big licks about their "fuel savings" are forcing me to actually move faster with worse range ,😂 tldr; fleets and their tracker devices are ridiculous.

If the device really reads data from the OBD port then with the newest V2.1.0 update it will not work any more, as everything except for the VIN is locked/encrypted.

unplug it and power it from the cig lighter

Then it most likely onyl uses the power from the OBD port and has some internal sensors (e.g. acceleration sensor/gps sensor) to asses your driving style. But yes, you can verify that, if you can mybe power it via the cigarette lighter.

Good plan. I'll see what it does. It's maybe a combo of throttle position and GPS. 👍
