First time buyer, Looking at Sea Lion 8 do around 90kms a day up hills and most of the trip is 80km+, no home solar, so will either be the supplied trickle charger or a public faxt charger. Whats everyone's thoughts

80km a day and a trickle charger should be fine

If you’re going up hills then you’re also going down hills, right?

Nah up hill both ways

Not if you're grandad going to school as a kid.

No home solar doesn't exclude putting in faster than a trickle charge at home if you decide the trickle charging isn't keeping up.

If you have access to a novated lease, consider BEV. If range anxiety for longer trips is bothering you, plug some trips you'll realistically drive into ABRP and see how it looks. PHEV just brings the complications and costs of both systems.

Decent choice although the base model probably won’t make that full 90km drive in ev mode. With the trickle charger you’ll realistically see about 2kw per hour charge speed so will need to be plugged in for a minimum of 10 hours overnight to recoup the previous days use. VW have done plug in hybrids coming in the next mo nth or so that look great and have good ev only range. Maybe cross shop those before committing to the byd

Ok why BEV, the range sucks for the main circa 400km and largest BEV is Tesla only.
