Sealion 7 - What's the space like in the back?

GeoffStone4000 | 2026-01-17 12:30 | 24 views

Moving from an Enyaq to my next company car. Really considering the Sealion7. Enyaq was great for boot and rear passenger space (3 kids, one large two medium). Does anyone have any good or bad reports for rear passengers? Also have you been able to fit the usual shedload of really crap in the boot and drink? Thanks in advance

BYD can be found in so many places ? Simply drop by and try it out for yourself ? The SL7 is very spacious in the back! The back of seats have 3 or 4 postions that you can tilt them in. (angle) from almost upright down to very relaxing. However, the middle-position is not that comfortable for the back of the passenger. This has the fold-down armpiece right there. So for a 1000km drive I would not want to sit in the middle. Heated seats in the back are default (at least in Europe) on all models. 2 x USB-C connectors also available.

Very, very good for rear passengers... Much bigger than the enyaq which we also viewed. It's one of the main reasons I chose it as my sons are over 6ft tall. Two very comfortable heated rear seats on the Sealion but the middle seat is slightly stiff. The back seats in the enyaq are more upright than the recline on the Sealion and the recline and glass roof feels more spacious. The back seats can be adjusted to recline slightly but you lose some boot space. The boot is not much different from the enyaq, but feels a little smaller. Two excellent cars.

I've got 3 kids in the back, including a booster seat. It is spacious enough, but not white at medium size SUV levels.

Is spacious, but airflow and cooling is inefficient. We got a usb powered fan. It helps a bit.

And a rack!!! Is there dedicated attachments for that or are you clipping over rubber seals?

Most I think I'd be doing is a 200 mile drive, however that can take 5 hours in the UK depending on roads

Did some searching and Thule do a specific adapter for the Sealion. We drove 3 hours each way to the destination and back, no issues from the roof box or the kids (for space). We had an Audi A6 estate before for it's large boot and leg room, but this is even better, as there's no driveshaft running down the middle, plus we got more in because of the front boot!

I had the same question. in the end I chose BYD m6 for the boot space. SL7 is spacious but not enough for baby prams and such.

Wait for BYD Sealion8 as family car. Just launched in Australia.
