How to open an unlocked Sealion 7 after door handles have retracted?

Newbie_401 | 2026-01-16 23:43 | 32 views

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but it’s happened a few times already. We received our Sealion 7 a week ago and we love it! I’ve got young kids so often it takes me a while to load up the back with all the hits and pieces they need, so although the boot/trunk is open and the car is unlocked, the door handles retract. Is there a way to get the door handles to pop out/open manually after they’ve retracted but the car is unlocked? Or do I have to press unlock on the key fob?

If you press the front corner of the handle (I mean physically push it in, not like a button), the back part of the handle should pop out and you can pull it.

This is the best for the the rear door handles, you can also press the little button on either of the front handles to present all four handles.

I press the button twice

Doesn't that lock the car, then you have to press it again to unlock it?

You can turn off the auto retract in settings.

No, that would be once the handles are out

I agree with WinterBarnicles. If the handles retract, pressing the little button (with your fob key nearby) locks the car. You have to press again to pop out the handles. Always a bit frustrating.

So I just tried that and it locked the car. Seal vs Sealion thing, or maybe there's a setting somewhere? Or maybe it's to do with whether you have the key in your pocket?

Maybe there are some other conditions, but I tested it before I posted so who knows

My Sealion 7 always locks in this situation also.

Yep and the mirrors fold in again 😉

Just crack a door open a bit, if one is open they don't retract 😉

Press the button on the front door handle The door handle will pop out If you want to lock the car you have to press it twice

OK, I just tried it without the key in my pocket and it behaves as you describe. That makes sense, it can't lock the car anyhow if you don't have the key.

My Sealion 7 performance opens the handles. It'll only lock if the handles are out and I push the button. I wonder if it's soemthing to do with the way we've configured a setting somewhere.

Or it could be a matter of if you have the physical key with you maybe? As I know some people don’t use it often, I always have mine in my pocket when this happens. So now I normally just press unlock on the key and the handles pop out again.

1 Push the right side of a hidden door handle, and turn the left side to get a finger height, holding it by a hand. 2 Once the left side is extended, pull the middle of the handle outward to extend the handle. https://preview.redd.it/klnbk32xk6eg1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=611c79ea448ead7a2e5be4038f4b82aaefc46d36

Når i nu ved alt det der! Kan man slå til, at bilen skal låse op med nøglen i lommen uden at skulle trykke på noget?
