Sealion 6 ticking noise from wheel

Hey guys, looking for some help or to see if I’m not alone here. I picked up my Sealion 6 in late July, and basically since day one, there’s been this annoying ticking noise coming from the front left wheel whenever I’m turning at slow speeds. I brought it up during my first service, and honestly, the experience was a joke. Even though the first service is supposed to be free, they charged me $250 just to "check the noise." The receipt literally says: "Confirmed noise is there, book again for further inspection." Like... no kidding? I told you it was there! I didn't need a $250 affirmation, I needed you to fix it. I’ve been going back and forth with BYD customer service and it’s been a massive headache with no actual solution yet. I’ve totally lost trust in my local service center, so before I try a different one, I wanted to ask here: • Has anyone else had this clicking/ticking sound when turning? \* If you got it fixed, what was the actual problem? I’m hoping to go into the next shop with some ideas so they don't just rob me of another $250 for doing nothing. Any info would be a lifesaver. Thanks!

Sounds like a failing CV joint - ask them to inspect and replace it under warranty - I'd also be disputing the $250.00 charge, that should be covered by warranty. I'm very surprised no-one's picked up on this, I'd visit a different dealer if you've gone to the original dealer since the start of this issue.

Why would you agree to the $250 charge if it's under warranty

This! And especially if the did not even do anything to fix it.

I had this exact problem with the seal u dmi model. The mechanic thought it was a semiaxis problem, but instead they had been told by byd itself that it was a problem about manufacturing tolerances of the rim, therfore it touched the caliper. The solution was to smooth the inside of the rim. This operation was done by them and free for me. Hope this helps

Esattamente quello che e' successo a me con Seal u dm-i, BYD e' a conoscenza del problemino e ha istruito il service sul da farsi, lavoro da un paio di ore, naturalmente in garanzia e zero spese

Yes, if it's the clicking which was identified in a community in germany (was hard work), but easy to get it done. Check this out, my comment from a different post in Reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/BYD/s/WFl8YDuKcL If you have questions don't hesitate

it's the CV joint, same thing happened to me and I'm also in Australia with Sealion 6. BYD fixed it for free - this was about 3 weeks ago. annoyingly the noise has just started coming back... I'll be taking it in again. they told me last time the CV joint was slightly loose.
