Feels weird to not call it stand chart marathon

Yup. It has been long standing title sponsor. Last time when people go for this running event will say, I'm going run stand chart. Now you gonna tell people I'm running BYD. Huh? Run to charge car?
Ngl, I've always equated the Singapore Marathon with SC. In fact I even call it the Stanchart Run. And apparently they have been the title sponsor since 2002. That's like almost 2.5 decades!!
yup. Last time used to run Stand Chart. We always call it, we run Stand Chart. Now going to be weird to call it BYD Run. Run to Charge, Charge to Run. Beyond Your Dreams

Quite used to old name. I think people will still call it stand chart. They are still the official bank sponsor for 2026 event, just not the title sponsor

From CNA: Three race categories will carry sponsor names this year: the BYD Marathon, adidas Half Marathon and Standard Chartered 10km. SC10km

On the bright side, perhaps the event colours will change? Always hated the green & blue of Stan Chart marathons.

If the same name has been in use for years, people just continue calling it that. - Barclays was the title sponsor for the EPL for 15 years, and people continued calling it that for a few years. - Sears Tower was officially renamed Willis Tower in 2009, but people still call it Sears Tower. - Sydney’s Centrepoint Tower was renamed AMP Tower, then Westfield Tower, but people still call it by its first name.
Running route will include: Basement of any shopping centre, which is full of Chagee, Luckin, Xiang Xiang, Zhang Liang and Mixue

And this was how I found out that the Stan Chart Marathon wasn’t a Stan Chart organised event.
So instead of mineral water on the way, you get nongfu, instead of 100 plus, you get chagee? Haha
This is so exciting! Hopefully new blood means so much more for Singapore and the participants. Standard Chartered will still be the title sponsor for the 10km
Nongfu mineral water better than most stuff you see here. Malaysia have good stuff but I rarely see them in sg.

You know you’re in the SAF too long when you read “DyBSM” (even though such a position probably doesn’t exist)
It could totally be a real position in the AMBs, where the RSM title is changed to BSM.
I mean BSMs exist in brigades too, just that I don’t think there are deputy positions for the top NCOs like there are for the commissioned positions
Grateful I got to run my first full marathon last year so I have a keepsake of my one and only Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon finisher tee before they change it to BYD SG International Marathon🤣
