SOUEAST is from chery. Best to my knowledge, the powertrain and many parts should be common across chery, Jetour. AC Charger that comes with the car still maintains chery badging And with the additional tech, electrical and electronics, better warranty coverage, all at lower price point(limited period ramadan offer brand car being new in the UAE), SOUEAST SM08 DM is much more attractive atm. Car is usually at higher price in other GCC market. Definitely a good time to consider.

No. My current ride is a mid size SUV - 7 seater. And moving back to 5 seater will be a bit difficult. My actual consideration was BYD song plus. But eventually decided to get a 7 seater for the additional space that I get.

Started with BYD song DM-i. It is a 5 seater. I drove it abroad and liked its comfort, power and the PHEV aspect (1100 kms mileage for AED 120). But later decided on 7 seater for my needs, and moved to BYD Atto 8 DM-i and fell in love. But the price @156k is high for the less tech in GCC spec. Other consideration was Exceed VX. It comes with every feature and power. But 170k. I pretty much checked many other cars and Deira Chinese showrooms. Most don’t have a model that meets my spacious 7 seater PHEV requirement. (Additionally denza 5 seater. Absolute beats in terms of power- but not practical for family use)

Hows the drive, comfort and noise at high speed? Looking at pics i thought it would be 180ish k priced.

Test drove it twice. First it was inner road which was comfortable and quiet. Car was fully occupied and loaded with 5 members. Decent power delivered even on ECO and Normal mode. Next day i test drove in sheikh zayed road under normal traffic. 3 adult occupancy and Pickup was good. Instant EV torque - specially on Sport + HEV was absolutely amazing.

I have only come across HUD in 150k above PHEV cars. I personally can live without that feature. Following are missing HUD NFC Mobile app (not sure though) Fatigue monitor (BYD has) Yes, It would have been better with few of those features available.

biggest ones: no need for the key (phone as key), remote cooling. others are less attractive, yet potentially helpful (check charging state, reconfigure charging limit, open doors, trunk, etc)

Musaffah, Abu Dhabi. I also had the misfortune of running into 2 accidents within the first 4 months of ownership (both not faulty) and needed it taken to the body shop in ICAD. On both occasions they finished the work and sent to the service centre themselves. Brilliant service, offer a whole cafe of refreshments, and even do a test service before delivery. I've owned a Camry and a Hyundai previously and never had this service level!

I am buying from elite motors here in sheikh zayed road and sales person is great providing pre-sales services and information. I am shifting to Abu Dhabi soon for work. I was indeed worried about the after sales support and service. Very happy to hear that it is going great, that too in AUH. Thanks buddy for the information.

Congrats man, curious how your charging situation would be like. Do you live in an apartment/villa with a charger, or are you planning to charge it at stations only?

Work place parking has charging facility. Since PHEV, the normal petrol engine leaves me with peace of mind. And shouldn’t give me anxiety. Plus Abu Dhabi has plenty full of AC and DC charging spots specially in Adnoc stations.

Depending on the situation. But stay away from impulse buying. For me a car is very much needed now. My existing GMC is almost 10 years old and has reliability issues. This is a good long term investment on paper, even when I expect zero resale value.

Okay I have review for this booking I made for the same car. I booked from ajman showroom I booked my s08dm on 27th Feb and paid 3k as deposit as I was going for bank finance. 1 week no call from the showroom. 2 week onwards I started calling everyday, than I got the email where I submitted my bank and work documents. 3 week kept calling them everyday for update and the only thing they say is .we are sending the document. We are sending the documents. Yesterday I get a call from their call center agent asked me one question " will you be paying full cash or will u going for bank finance?" This pissed me off so much. Something is definitely wrong. Until now the update is they waiting for bank to inform them regarding the finance. This is a joke right ? Am I being scammed by elite group holding

I work for a similar Chinese car dealing agency. Let me tell you almost all the interior parts are shared with each other. The designs they use are sometimes 1:1 with other brands. Almost all of them are best value until one of your electronics does not work optimally. I can't specify the brand that I work for but I d avoid it.

Yes,i went today to the show room and confirmed it doesn’t have remote connectivity to monitor those. I wanted remote charging monitor option since you informed about that feature. No sim slot means not even future update will bring those features. I cannot complain much for this price. So I decided to love it without these features . 😕

Tested and noise levels are very less. They confirmed windscreen and other glasses and double layer to reduce outside noise. Felt less noise on highway as you said.

That's a good price, but weren't you skeptical about Soueast as a brand here in the UAE? It's not the most common Chinese brand, as people here prefer Geely, Jetour, Haval, and MG more. I know it's a sister brand of Chery, but Chery isn't widely accepted in the UAE either. Because if a brand isn't very common, it's hard to find parts, which causes delays in repairs and so on. Selling it will also be difficult. Didn't these questions come to your mind?

Warranty you have to check properly. Because many parts have smaller warranties. They ll always give longer warranty for parts that won't break easily. That shouldn't be the case because warranty should be the same for everything. Also part availability is the biggest issue with Chinese companies. And any new models for sure have issues as these cars arent put in testing for long before they're put into the market

How is the interior quality do you feel it’s cheap ?

My daily travel will be 80 to 100 kms. What they offer is a combined mileage (petrol + electric) of 800 kms.

On PHEV, you have the option to charge the battery just like an EV car. On highway it is mostly the petrol engine taking care of the business. And it does charge the battery on breaking. If you are concerned of mileage and ok with 5 seater, look for BYD song DM-i. Or DM-P

I was (and honestly, still am) a bit skeptical about Soueast, but I’m starting to see the logic in buying one. Since they are under the Chery umbrella-just like Jetour, and sold by Elite Motors here in the UAE, they have decent "parents" i would say. Elite’s showrooms and service centers are top-notch, and the cars actually feel like premium products. I’ve even seen positive feedback on Reddit regarding their service. Plus, the S08 is basically built on the same bones as the Tiggo and Jetour X70, so you aren't exactly buying an unknown mystery machine. There are several Emiratis at my work place who i know owns soueast dashing and S09 models. This is a good indication of trust they have built.

Anything that’s electric+gas motor is a big no no for me personally. Glad it works for you though. Would have loved FULL body pics of the car rather than random zoom ins. Still don’t know how it looks.
