Soo we are changing our car, we have about 10000$ from the one that we have and the remaining part will be borrowed and paid back whenever possible every few months. Unfortunately we can only choose from either byd or jetour In the option there is jetour l6 2025 plug in hybrid for 18000$-19500$ or jetour dashing 2026 (or 2025 don’t remember which model it was) for around 18600$ and then there is byd song plus for 21000$ to 22500$ Is the byd worth that much more? The person helping us says that he recommends jetour

Why not go for a Korean car ? Palisade or telluride or even RAV4 why go Chinese?

Serix-4 2026-03-17 10:27

I wouldn't recommend Chinese cars because the resell value is low Also not sure about the reliability, especially in Iraqi streets

RAV4 cost more than $25k Cross is much cheaper

With their price range they can buy a newer models of tuscun and Sportage and even Sorento so why not

Melodic_Selection491 2026-03-17 10:34

I would go for rav4 2026 in a heart beat if i could but i can’t. I can only get either jetour or byd.

Melodic_Selection491 2026-03-17 10:35

Because the person helping us only recommends these 2 brands, jetour even more than byd. I can’t say no i want another brand and act spoiled

Why are your options so limited?? Electric cars are quite new here, and if I want to buy one I would go for a Japanese brand, like Toyota. Toyota cars proved itself as the most reliable in Iraq

I didn't read the whole post But yes, Japanese and Korean cars have good reputation here

I know. The problem is that we have to buy new. And it has to be a bit affordable and hybrid because of our situation. We are a family of 4 with different schedules. And suv is a must else it has to be high off the ground and spacious. The person helping us (May God bless them a billion times) insists that Chinese cars are the best option. They have worked with jetour for 10 years. I don’t want to be spoiled. Because they are not even accepting monthly payments. Just whenever we have a bit of money to give back to them. Else if i could i would buy a crown or rav4 2026 hybrid (the new camry is trash after a year or so with constant rattling too)
