BYD supplied ironman tonneau cover not the same as advertised

Hi all just had what I thought was the Ironman Slide-Away Retractable Roller Shutter (Electric) fitted by BYD delivery center in Bayswater, but I am doubtful. The quality of the install is shocking, bare wires passing through the tub with no grommets, silicone smeared in side the tub and along the rails. Rubber seals have not been trimmed with gaps for water and dust. Then to top it off it is not connected to the central locking and does not come with the app connection. The support as shown in the install manual on ironman website are different and the one that is shown to be by the tail gate is not there. I am unsure were I stand with BYD as we accepted delivery a month ago as the cover was on back order. Do I contact Ironman to see if it is a genuine Ironman cover or just contact BYD?

I’d ask BYD first. I have noticed every shark seems to have a different roller and I was expecting them to all be the same.

I have seen lately that the ones provided by byd are now not supplied by Ironman, some other generic one, which is shit. I would take it back, that’s pretty poor form on the install.

absolutely. take it back and throw it at them. not sure here if it’s bad installation which is more likely, or a defective hardware.

At no point was a qualified person involved in that fitting. Also definitely not Ironman as they always have a sticker or similar to let you know the brand.
