How to watch Netflix in Sealion 7

Objective_Money_5193 | 2026-03-18 18:47 | 5 views

I've recently changed from a Tesla Model Y to a Sealion 7 Excellence and my kids are giving me a hard time about the lack of Netflix etc. I've got no interest is messing about with sideloading, so would like some recommendations based on 1st hand experience of Android devices I could use to expand the multimedia options via the main screen. Thanks in advance.

You can use screencast

Carlink kit is the best. I hope BYD opts in so we’ll be able to airplay videos with Apple CarPlay

Should have said I have an Android phone and I believe screencast only works for Apple currently via the BYD Cast app?

Do you use Carlink? If so, which one specifically?

Yes I use Carlinkit 5.0. First one I found on Amazon. It was about £50 in the UK.

Buy a 1980's corolla and drive them in that for a week, then they might appreciate what they've got and lay off they're Dad 😂

I've had a quick look and there appear to be a few Carlinkit 5.0 options on Amazon, and none that I can see make mention of supporting Netflix natively. Are you able to share a link or confirm the model?

You aren't wrong! 😉

Best is to hard reset the kids... Cars fine... Just push the volume knob like you would on any BYD...

Use the web browser?

Cregkly 2026-03-18 23:57

That's what I do with dropout

Admittedly I haven't tried that as I'm sure I read that the browser didn't support DRM. Will give it a try.

Kayo sports (Australian paid sports streaming) works. Haven’t tried anything else.

Webbrowser works for HBO Max and Prime Video so imagine it does for Netflix too.

What’s the BYD cast app?

What country are you in? I'm surprised your Tesla was able to do it. It's illegal in my country for the driver to be able to see a screen that is playing video while driving. So Netflix on for the kids wouldn't be allowed.

UK, and it was only possible when stationary (as it should.

Oh cool. Yeh that'd be super handy then. Especially when you're waiting at school pickup lines! 💀
