Where are the BYD cars in games and toys?

fkid123 | 2026-01-12 18:36 | 25 views

I have a couple BYD cars (M6 and Seal) and would like to give my son a small model of the car. Tried Hotwheels, Matchbox, Tomica...nothing. Ok, if I can't have the cars as toys then how about in games? Same story. Nothing on Forza. Gran Turismo says they'll have the YangWang U9 but that's not what I am after. What's with that? The M6 is a bit unknown but the Seal is VERY popular in many countries.

Thought I saw some scale models in a BYD dealership. You can buy them on aliexpress

At Aliexpress I found only ONE Seal model which is way too big (1:18, I wanted 1:64) and also they only had one color.

yeah there is a few around, but the 1:18 Seal is real expensive and I want black.

> the US doesn't have enough freedom to buy BYD. Poor oppressed Americans. Someone should liberate them. (funny because this isn't /s now)

That's probably the correct explanation.

As Chinese made EVs are currently banned in the US there's no incentive for Mattel (owner of Hot Wheels and Matchbox) to incorporate any Chinese brands into their lineups. EV uptake is also a bit slower in Japan (Tomica) and they usually tend to favour Japanese marques in their diecast. You could always hold out hope that Bburago might make some.

They do exist. There are plenty. I've personally seen Yuan Plus and Seagulls. But they are only sold in China. Don't expect American companies to be making toys out of Chinese cars.
