Tyre pressure warning

GigsworthCB | 2026-01-05 13:47 | 26 views

Why is only one of the rear tyres showing a warning. They’re the same pressure…

It's below the others but rounding the numbers makes it seem like the same.

FroHawk98 2026-01-05 13:50

I have exactly the same issue on exactly the same wheel. Weird.

GigsworthCB 2026-01-05 13:51

It is unusually cold right now where I am -4C Is that true for you too?

FroHawk98 2026-01-05 13:52

Yeh exactly, -3 Same as you though, the pressure is the same.

GigsworthCB 2026-01-05 13:53

My right rear was the lowest briefly which is when it alerted. It then stabilised with the left showing lower psi briefly, before equalising, but has maintained the warning on the right.

Me too but also on the right front side too. It's so weird cause it shows basically the same bar pressure in all of the wheels.

Around -7 under day and -12 in the Night. I just ignore Them an pressure uo the tires Ehrn its warmer again, hopefully the Error will be gone bafter that

Add just a little more air. You're seeing a rounding error.

\-8 here and all seems to be normal. https://preview.redd.it/ce2l5jfdskbg1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=43cf0d62dcd889a23d2554d66d524c778730b207

Me too!

Below cold tyre pressure minimum warning. Check door placard cold tyre pressure and match this when tyres are cold. I.e. put some more air in.

Mine is in Pascals which I think is a bit more precise, maybe switch units

Did you search for previous posts? It's been asked a lot, change to kPa to see the difference.

Some cars you can set different settings, like sport, eco , comfort, to wich other recomended pressures belong. Comfort lower pressure  Then automatically the warning is gone. You see that tpms brings new worry's. It would be possible to let recomended pressure used for the warning borders , flow with temperature in tyre, also sended by the tpms sensors. Then lesser low pressure warnings at low ambiënt temperatures.  Porche and BMW use 20 degrC/68 degr F as index temperature, from wich they calculate to temperature in tyre, to give recomended pressure for the setting on screen.  I now mailed Porsche, if they also use that to compare if pressure in tyre is below warning border. Is not certain they thought of that, and still as many low pressure warnings in the cold as other brands. Once asked a tpms seller for info. Sensors send every 1 or 2 minutes temperature and pressure in one kind ( psi or bar fi) in steps of their system 0.5 psi and 1 degrC. Receving unit converses it to the other kind  and they only gave per 1 psi step on screen. They also wrote me that sensors go to every 10 minutes sending when long enaugh no movement, and wake up again by movement( driving) . And in the sensors in tyre if absolute pressure drops  2psi between the normal sendings, they send direct. Receving unit then explains 2 psi lower then stored last receved, as sudden presdure loss, and all the bells go ringing. So you are always warned for a flat or blowing tire, even if pressures are to low or high. So roundings and conversions could easyly give same pressure but low pressure warning works directly with the given data from sensors  .

exactly what I was going to share - could be that one tyre is at 37.21 and the other is 37.19, with the 'alert' being set on anything from 37.20 and lower... and the app rounds them both to "37.2"

I went to the gas station. Pumped all 4 tires to the new pressures I wanted. (42 psi back, 40psi front for those that want a massive improvement on the performance). Next morning, still there. A day later I redid the pressures at another gas station and it went away. Has stayed away 2 weeks now no issues. The reality is most pressures fluctuate. Cold weather. Cold start before the tires warm up. Bumps and what not. The monitoring is really good.

Yep same! But it magically disappeared when temp rose above 3C today 🤷‍♂️

FroHawk98 2026-01-08 22:37

Ditto!

In my case, I changed the air to nitrogen; they charged me 200 pesos at a tire shop, and that solved the temperature alert problem.

jadatis 2026-01-10 07:21

If temperature of gascompound in tyre goes from 68 degrF to 30 degrF pressure lowers extra with humid air in compare to absolute dry gascompound, like Nitrogen filling claims, 0.2 psi extra.  If that makes the difference false low pressure warning, poeh poeh . Again , false low pressure warning is a tpms problem that can be solved, see my former post, and dont need to be solved by the Nitrogen lobby. And when filled with Nitrogen, do they get all the liquid water out ( less then a quarter of a ( little) expresso-cup. The water is the only reason why pressure changes more with temperature. Sometimes they give , if Nitrogen filled , the tires a higher pressure, to let custumers think pressure stays longer high enaugh.
