Of I reset my OTA what happens?

concisehacker | 2025-12-27 12:39 | 24 views

Like, im worried if I mess with it I might hear an explosion in the distance and I'll brick the car Or, am I being paranoid? Reason I want to reset it is because the Bluetooth is all messed up and it just won't connect so I'm told I should reset.... Safe thing to do?

Are you trying to reset you infotainment (IVI)? Because OTA are the software updates you have. Anyway, you're totally paranoid. Reset it all you want. The car modules (engine, battery, etc) are totally independent from the IVI module. Even if you try really hard (I've seen people install Linux on Dilink 3) you can't brick the car. Plus tip: if it begins to behave weird or freeze, you can do a cold boot by holding the volume console for more than 10 sec.

Yes I meant IVI Cold boot sounds like a first step thanks So, I press the volume for ten secs?

The one on the console, not on the steering wheel

I had tried resetting it on the screen. There is an option for that. After reset, the software was back to the version when I picked up my car. No more OTA was received until the next update was available.
