Native system or Android Auto?

steelz80 | 2025-12-22 14:05 | 25 views

Im struggling to decide between which UI to use in my Seal Excellence and would appreciate some input. I prefer Waze to the BYD navigation software, but the BYD Spotify app is light years ahead of the version in Android Auto. I've used the native software up to now, but the introduction of Gemini to AA is possibly going to swing my decision in it's favour. Anything I've not considered or general thoughts are welcome. Thanks 🙏

I really like using the native UI, but using apple carplay have so much better audio quality when playing music. Btw, you can install waze on your head unit as well

Never knew that, thank you.

I use Android Auto exclusively because the native Spotify app doesn't work for me. It just refuses to load my playlist.

For me the native navigation doesn't have traffic info (Indonesia). I'm 100% AA after the native app took me straight into a one hour roadworks nightmare.

The native Spotify app struggles with big Playlists, so it's unfortunately unusable for me. Have to stick to AA

Android Auto. I don't plan on paying for the monthly data plan once my 2 years runs out so may as well get used to it now.

I'd use the native UI if only spotify would load my "Liked song" playlist properly (every other playlists work)

I got my Atto 3 just as apple released iOS 18 meaning that Carplay was hit and miss for months until they fixed it. in that time I got used to the native UI and have continued to use it since.

Or just create a simple routine to share your phone LTE to the car...
