Today my Sealion 7 suffered an accident

Hello all, Unfortunately, today while driving my Sealion 7 in bad weather, a gentleman lost control of his Renault Captur and hit me in the back of the car. When I got out, I saw his car completely wrecked and braced myself for the damage on my BYD. To my surprise I was barely able to find the damage in my car, at the bottom of the back bumper the plastic got a slight dent and the license plate was cracked. That was it, the Renault got his front completely destroyed like it had hit a wall. Im quite impressed with the built quality and durability of this car. Insurance is activated and I should be completely covered. Now let's see if BYD support in my country for repairs is as good as the built quality of the car :)

Get it serviced maybe? I remember when my old Holden Commodore got rear ended, damage seemed minimal but the wheel alignment(?) was messed up, found out when she went for a slide on a wet corner.

His car was very damaged because of the collapsible zone in front of the car. Your car would also had bad damage if the roles were reversed. Which country are you in? I sope to my dealer and he said they stock parts in Norway with the main warehouse in Holland. Even if the damage is neglible there are many sensors behind all the plastics.

I'm fully covered so definitely sending it to BYD after the insurance reviews all details. Regarding sensors and cameras all is operational and working. The direction is a very good point that I will ask to be reviewed thanks for that. I'm based of Portugal btw.

Get it services and have the service centre run it over a sensor re-callibration so your ADAS is confirmed as beingaccurate.

Ok. Let us know what happens next. Worst news I have is more than 4 months at dealership waiting for parts.

I had a similar situation where my car didnt *look* damaged but we pulled the rear bumper off and it was an absolute mess. Worth getting that extra check!
