Range accuracy

The day I picked up my Sealion 6, I was told not to trust the fuel range (it shows ~1000 km when full). Ever since, I’ve been stressed using it in HEV mode and usually refuel once it drops below 300 km. I keep wondering how inaccurate that range actually is.

I would say that 1000km is pure fantasy and you really arent going to get that, especially as i believe that its based on NEDC testing and not WLTP. I have the AWD and it shows 680 km using WLTP, having driven it on a number of 1000km trips its about right. The low fuel light will come on at about 80kms with is roughly 10% of tank capacity. Also driving highway at 120 km with air con on, will give worse performance than city driving with regenerative braking. Its an awesome car, so enjoy and relax.

You’ve misunderstood. My experience with a Seal was that it was horribly inaccurate, as in if I had “160KM” left, I wasn’t going to make it to work on my 120KM commute. It will not drop dead at 200, it just goes down faster than expected. That’s the case for the EVs. Don’t you have a fuel gauge as well? Just fill up around 80KM left and you’ll never have an issue.

philippine local media did it https://mb.com.ph/2024/9/20/byd-sealion-6-dm-i-exceeds-1000-km-range-claim obviously very dependent on conditions, but still, 300km on the tap shouldnt be something to stress over
