The ongoing DOJ wire and securities fraud investigation into Tesla was news to me.

Vague clickbait title. Do better

BringBackUsenet 2026-01-21 21:45

It's about fucking time, but let's not hold our breath.

ButtFucker40k 2026-01-21 21:50

Wire fraud like cocaine distribution gets you an almost instant pardon in the current administration. I can see why a competent prosecutor would want to let this take time to play out.

Jaguarmadillo 2026-01-21 21:56

Nothing gets worse for a billionaire and documented liar with unlimited money. He should be a pariah

SuperF91EX 2026-01-21 22:02

This would explain the hundreds of millions of dollars donated to republicans

jregovic 2026-01-21 22:03

Yeah, until TSLA crashes under $100 and the company folds, nothing is getting worse for this guy. It wouldn’t matter if audio of him planning election fraud, wire fraud, or any other fraud, or anything else short of actual murder. All the lying about FSD, Cybertruck, the semi, and “robotaxis” is nothing.

BringBackUsenet 2026-01-21 22:15

Negligent homicide is a form of murder in this case.

tducote13 2026-01-21 22:21

Bring him down. This guy is so stupid & drug addict.

BringBackUsenet 2026-01-21 22:38

People should flood Xitter with this video. I wonder how long before those "free speech absolutists" squelch it.

No_Safety_6803 2026-01-21 22:43

It’s not “instant”, fealty & tribute are required!

Dilapidated_girrafe 2026-01-21 22:50

But he’s rich and Trump would pardon him for a donation like he’s done for others.

BouncingBabyButton 2026-01-21 22:58

Not to mention the bullshit about an imminent reveal of a flying car that we all know won’t happen.

Key-Beginning-2201 2026-01-21 23:00

You didn't know about the ongoing wire fraud investigation? It's been a few years. It's the point of his involvement in DOGE, to shred investigations into himself, like at the SEC, FAA, NHTSA, etc. In the case of DoJ, perhaps not entirely successfully.

RocketLabBeatsSpaceX 2026-01-21 23:04

Elons companies all have benefited from US tax dollars. Without subsidies, Elons companies wouldn’t exist. Period. That’s why he needs to buy politicians… keep that government cheese coming.

secretlyjudging 2026-01-21 23:08

Nothing is going to happen. Elon is going to be funding a ton of politicians that coincidentally will squash any accountability. Let's be real

MarchMurky8649 2026-01-21 23:11

Seems like a fire you thought was out, but there were still some glowing embers. Just because Trump sat down with him for dinner, I doubt he can rely on him to pull him out if this gets messy; perhaps DOJ plan is to make sure this continues to smoulder until Trump has left the White House, and accordingly lost the power to pardon.

brintoul 2026-01-21 23:14

My money would certainly be on nothing coming of this.

Engunnear 2026-01-21 23:14

Rule 5 isn’t perfect, but on balance it’s for the best.

brintoul 2026-01-21 23:21

The murder would likely have to be performed on live television as well.

sullen_agreement 2026-01-21 23:46

trump will, or currently is, using this investigation to shake elon down. and elon did say if dems got elected hed go to jail, so

LoopVator2021 2026-01-21 23:59

If TSLA crashes and the company is liquidated, Musk would still be the richest person in the world based on SpaceX and X.ai. As it is he’ll be the worlds first trillionaire this year - long before his trillion dollars in TSLA options are due. Chances are in 3 or 4 years he may be worth more than the next 9 people on the richest list combined. So there’s that. He’s hard to ignore.

tanbyte 2026-01-22 00:00

Probably nothing happens to him, especially under Trump

Ok-ChildHooOd 2026-01-22 00:08

Same shit for years. There's no punishment for his sins...yet

ButtFucker40k 2026-01-22 00:50

Yeah I said almost. But he has already pre-paid for his so it won't happen.

beaded_lion59 2026-01-22 00:50

Autosteer IS FSD. The presenter is incorrect.

obefiend 2026-01-22 01:04

Can confirm. I live in a country where billionaires does not even get a slap in the wrist for stealing billions, killing folks and just rampant corruption. I now understand why so many of my countrymen believe in the afterlife because they want to believe these bastards will be punished by god there. Me? I just accept the world is unfair. Justice is just a mirage

azreal75 2026-01-22 01:31

Rich white man in America who is connected to power, he won’t suffer consequences other than what the public can deliver with less sales.

Kind_Dream_610 2026-01-22 01:58

Don’t forget the lying about being able to deliver cars that people paid for in advance. And the double down lying he did when some of those customers tried to get their money back.

CorrectPreparation45 2026-01-22 02:03

But he is African American.

DhOnky730 2026-01-22 02:52

Plus the Admin has told the IRS to stop pursuing white collar crimes as primary offenses. He has to have something else OR be in Trump's crosshairs.

spam__likely 2026-01-22 02:58

no

Odd_Beginning536 2026-01-22 04:30

It’s one of the reasons he helped Trump. Trump fired many people that were investigating him for his abuses. Many which are workers filing complaints. In America the law is for sale I guess.

John-AtWork 2026-01-22 05:33

$tsla should be $10/share.

John-AtWork 2026-01-22 05:36

Let's say the fuller story. He's a rich White South African Nazi who's family wealth came from exploiting Apartheid.

sschueller 2026-01-22 05:37

I can't believe I am saying this but I think it would be better for Elon to not get prosecuted until Trump is gone. I don't want that POS to get any pardons....

SisterOfBattIe 2026-01-22 07:19

DOGE pretty much undid the whole regulation thing in the USA, and Trump made crime legal If the worst come to worst, Musk can do a billion dollar bribe in $DOGE and buy an unconditional pardon. I would be shocked if Trump or Musk faced any consequences.

ReSpectacular 2026-01-22 07:30

haven’t Musk effectively shut down ongoing investigation by firing half of DOJ staff when he was managing DOGE?

P5YCO 2026-01-22 10:34

Its the elon factor which is making me hesitant to buy a tesla. They're phenomenal cars that are unlike anything else out there... however i just feel at this point I shouldn't be supporting the man who helped bring this current world order into existence.

SpectrumWoes 2026-01-22 12:25

They are not “phenomenal” cars, they are poorly built with cheap plastic interiors that try to make up for it with a giant screen. Edit: I will agree that they’re unlike anything else out there lol but not in the way you may think

LightMission4937 2026-01-22 19:04

Phenomenal 😂

[deleted] 2026-01-22 20:21

My guess? He wont even show up to court.

Ultrapeechu24 2026-01-24 20:45

Dude do something with your life

spam__likely 2026-01-25 00:21

I am doing something better than licking Elon's balls, that is for sure.

Acrobatic-Abies2508 2026-01-25 21:33

I think Musk has to worry about investor lawsuits in states like California, but good luck getting him for anything else.

fearofbadname 2026-01-25 22:11

You are all delulu

MarchMurky8649 2026-01-25 23:51

Errr... Covfefe?

Fiveofthem 2026-01-26 00:15

When did you sell your Tesla?

MarchMurky8649 2026-01-26 01:10

Ah - got it. You think we are all [Tallulah](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulEG7bd1H60). Speaking for myself, that is not the case.

mickalawl 2026-01-26 02:06

He can just pay 1 billion to Trump and it will all go away. Which is literally pocket change for Musk. Laws only matter if they are enforced. Which is not how crony capitalism works in the US.

Mithious29 2026-01-26 16:43

He never said the family was using FSD if they were using autopilot on a road that isn’t a highway that’s on them.
