Yeah, I watch the videos of Thuderf00t from time to time. He's been shouting from the rooftops that Elon is a fraud and lying conman for like 15 years now. Despite having all the receipts and making amazing arguments with video evidence including conflicting false statements from Elon himself, All the cult members and Elon-gelicals were constantly calling him a liar. Maybe like 5% of the comments were in agreement with Thuderf00t.
It was a little over a year ago that he claimed the momentum has finally shifted. Says it's vindication for him.

I doubt that, except as transition. Too much private equity is already involved.

Eh... without the hype, SpaceX is just another launch provider, and one with a shit ton of potential liability from empty promises. If I were an 'investor' I'd be thrilled to take a government buyout if the shit ever hits the fan.

Absurd analogy. Last time I checked, Tesla delivered almost 500,000 cars in a quarter. Where’s the fraud in that? That’s a far cry from the fraudulent deliveries from Theranos. Enron was a different kind of fraud.

This has been repeated over and over again for years, now. I dislike Musk immensely, and find him to be one of the biggest, lying narcissists alive.
But, he is Teflon. He is too big to fail. TSLA is immune to reality for this reason. I hate him, but, Id never bet against him.

Elon is a state actor in my opinion. His empire is fine so long as he runs his companies in alignment with US geopolitical and technological ambitions (ie. spacex, starlink, Ai, etc.). The US gov doesn't have the money to do these things anymore, so they've offloaded it onto their pet oligarchs.
That said, he screwed over the Dems so badly that should they come back into power he may find himself inside a prison cell.

The reason he is getting away with it is that he has almost every major investment firm on the hook for billions of dollars in the loans on his stock. The investment firms are collecting hundreds of millions each year in interest but if the stock ever tanks then they could be on the hook for billions. So for all intents and purposes the investment firms have invested in Tesla. This is why so many of them keep pumping out unrealistic stock valuations and buy recommendations. In addition Elon has created a Ponzi scheme that is almost too big to fail. If the stock ever falls to the level he would risk the equivalent of a margin call it would cause a domino effect taking most of the banks and investment firms with it.
Enron was b league compared to this.
Key-Beginning-2201
2025-10-23 13:33
Yes but there is no way a buyout would approach the current valuations.
Permanent nationalization isn't really an American thing. Government can step in to oversee a governance and ownership transition then step out. Even using leverage to encourage it, without actually stepping into ownership, can also be realistic.
What Gov should really do, since they practically funded it, would be to buy out or acquire or carve out the falcon 9 tech and methodology and bid it to domestic offerors to allegedly make the entire market more efficient. But there is still the issue of SpX secret work with the DoD, also which may have the greatest interest for any kind of nationalization.

People now treat oligarchs like their favorite football teams.
Even if the owner, head coach, and star quarterback of “their team” visited Epstein island they wouldn’t change their favorite team. They’re committed to their team no matter what.
Goes for Elon and Trump. They can’t be persuaded against “their team” no matter how bad it gets.
These people just need to die of old age and phase out for things to change.

\+1. Elon's "value" numbers will fluctuate, but he has a significant quantity of cultists, both in the wild, in Wall Street and in government, that he will always be a powerful figure. Regardless of TSLA he'll eventually die extremely comfortably like virtually any oligarch, on top of the pile of corpses and lies from his past.

Elon himself isn’t too big to fail, not that I expect it, but it is POSSIBLE that he get ousted from his companies, although unlikely. His companies themselves are stable enough they will outlive him, Tesla/SpaceX at least. Especially Tesla could use a change in leadership just to show Elon isn’t the one and only person that can lead them. And while it may result in a correction of their valuation, that’s been long overdue, though that also may never happen

I think how it will go down is that it will become clear the car selling business isn't profitable enough for Tesla the stock will tank like 90%. Then xai will buy and they will change the stock listing to xAI and he's back to pumping hopes and dreams and doesn't have to worry about selling cars anymore. They could even spin out the car business and retain the fsd part, say it's an open platform product.

Tesla shares are going to hurt in the next quarter. They sold a lot of cars in the run up to the end of the tax credit. Without innovation and new models, people aren’t going to keep buying their products. Eventually shareholders will see the BS for what it has always been.
MattBladesmith
2025-10-24 02:25
I don't think there's any point in predicting Tesla's. Any logic or reason has been thrown out the window at this point, and any claims of when the inevitable end will come have yet to be realized. It could be four months, but I wouldn't be surprised if the whole facade keeps going for a while longer.

Musk jumping around like a madman on stage to promote Trump and doing Roman salutes definitely was a turning point for many people who didn’t care before - that’s on a global level, not just in the US.
Tesla will sell fewer EVs in important car markets like California, Western Europe etc. - where Trump isn’t exactly popular, to put it very mildly;)
If Tesla can’t deliver on new revenue drivers like Optimus robots or FSD robotaxis (with no safety drivers or other gimmicks!) in 2026, that “Emperor Has No Cloth” moment may be upon us soon.
My guess is towards the end of 2026, maybe even before. Then the stock will also crater…. it’s so overvalued that it could really crash hard and fast.
Tha’s my prediction for the next 15 or so months.

The company has loads of cash and is still selling a lot of cars. The stock price will not bring the company down entirely.

2025-10-24 16:53
Tesla has a lot of cash, a lot of resources, and makes a lot of cars. A stock price crash will not destroy the company.
What would happen is they would get a new CEO, stockholders will lose their pants, and Tesla will become a regular car company.
