Next hard hitting article gonna be about Nutty the Waterskiing Squirrel. Name one reason they would sell.

CowEducational7672 2025-08-14 00:31

It’s either the nazi CEO or the over promise under deliver sales strategy from Tesla. Trick- it’s both!

bw984 2025-08-14 00:35

It’s expensive, has shit quality, and is intimately linked with the most unliked person in the United States. All existing owners fit into a narrow personality classification of being the worst people imaginable.

Thanosmiss234 2025-08-14 00:36

It's more cause of nazi CEO. I know of at least 3 Orders were canceled, day after nazi thing!

techbunnyboy 2025-08-14 00:39

Why? Coz it’s shit

Responsible_Name1217 2025-08-14 00:39

1) Elon 2) It's styling reminds me of the scribbles I did in Elementary school. 3) The build quality is shit.

Engunnear 2025-08-14 00:43

If you actually need this explained to you, you’re beyond hope.

Engunnear 2025-08-14 00:44

HE’S A SQUIRREL, AND HE’S ON SKIS!!!!

squish102 2025-08-14 00:44

I took one for a demo drive, it was quite a pleasant surprise. It felt very solid, turned with steer by wire felt good, and it was pretty fast for its weight and size. As much as I wanted to trash the actual truck for the vehicle it was, was very difficult. Looks and Elon aside.

RioRancher 2025-08-14 00:47

Elon. Musk.

AgentSmith187 2025-08-14 00:49

Its all fun and games until you break the small sedan levels of suspension on a large "truck" or bits fall off as the glue failed as you drive. That or it bricks randomly.

ProdigalSheep 2025-08-14 00:52

…or it catches fire and kills you…or you drown, trapped inside.

gmwdim 2025-08-14 00:59

4. Way too expensive for the vast majority of people.

gmwdim 2025-08-14 01:00

Yeah just wait until it rains a bit and the body panels start falling off.

Hozntl 2025-08-14 01:03

5. Elon again.

dezastrologu 2025-08-14 01:05

because they’re shit

jwboo 2025-08-14 01:08

Where do you even start with this level of stupidity? I guess believing your own bullshit is where some people start.

Seems poor journalism to only interview owners who at most mildly unhappy.

[Why Cybertrucks can't sell, in a single image](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GUB42Bbb0AAsxps.jpg:large):

TweezerTheRetriever 2025-08-14 01:18

It’s twiggy the squirrel….i set power and lights for a pet show where he was the featured guest act…

TormentedOne 2025-08-14 01:20

That guy is super trustworthy. Teaches kids to create accounts using their parents information to do day trading. We can totally trust him uncritically here.

Sypheix 2025-08-14 01:20

Because they're of horrible quality and neither a good car or truck

Aargau 2025-08-14 01:21

Agreed. "We interviewed two fanbois who can only give lukewarm praise".

RaechelMaelstrom 2025-08-14 01:21

and he's nuts.

TormentedOne 2025-08-14 01:22

Or 👽 abduction, shark attacks and super volcanos, which are just as likely to happen.

Bibblegead1412 2025-08-14 01:31

Yep. Don't need a whole "think piece" on it.

[deleted] 2025-08-14 02:04

Maybe make a truck instead of whatever that is

etaoin314 2025-08-14 02:04

it’s also supposed to be a truck but doesn’t really do work truck stuff all that well…so…there that.

Yetiius 2025-08-14 02:04

Let me guess, the stock price goes up?

bostondana2 2025-08-14 02:08

4) can't even wash it without it deadlining...

bostondana2 2025-08-14 02:09

Or you try to wash it...

a_lovelylight 2025-08-14 02:11

That's part of the scam, actually! A classic tactic. You buy an expensive product (or sometimes play with a fantastic, high-quality demo first) that's new and shiny. And then within a few weeks, it starts to fall apart just a little. Maybe it doesn't turn on as fast, or some of the shiny plating is tarnishing, or whatever. Then another few weeks go by and your expensive product has turned into a pile of junk that goes into a landfill. That's Elon Musk in a nutshell. His signature vehicle couldn't be more fitting.

jregovic 2025-08-14 02:11

6. It met none of the specs as detailed at the launch.

ADDSquirell69 2025-08-14 02:27

Because why would they be?

pinkeye_bingo 2025-08-14 02:38

Yes it's a mystery lol

crazyk4952 2025-08-14 02:41

Most people aren’t comfortable with financially supporting a nazi…..

markgriz 2025-08-14 02:42

I have a hard time believing people thought this was some amazing innovation. Are they stupid? It looks like something sketched on a napkin during a 1 am drunken brainstorming session, and it was never refined into an actual vehicle design. “Well, that’s what Elon said he wanted, so I guess we just roll with it? I’m not risking my cushy job and challenging Captain Adderall”

jason12745 2025-08-14 02:47

That is the greatest and shortest story ever.

MarchMurky8649 2025-08-14 02:47

When I saw the title, the phrase "[specialist subject the bleedin' obvious](https://youtu.be/iJSyGlmT3lk)" popped into my head.

Emotional_Goal9525 2025-08-14 02:57

4. The engineering is shit and it is the only "serious" off-roader that gets stuck to first snow on a flat ground.

[deleted] 2025-08-14 02:57

Yes, he made a video essentially calling you a lazy bum for not dropping $10k into a forex account to trade for 2 hrs with the help of some grifter

whisperwrongwords 2025-08-14 03:01

Sounds like someone should report this guy to the SEC

[deleted] 2025-08-14 03:07

Luckily, it doesn't rain in the apocalypse and that's what the cybertruck is built for /s

Opcn 2025-08-14 03:09

It demonstrably does have problems being an actual truck though. Lots of cases of suspension giving out. The frame doesn't hold up to torture tests and several have broken their frames towing loads within ratings. The accelerator pedal is held on with a single hastily installed poprivet in most of them and if they missed the internal structure the sticky tape can give way and jam itself in the on position. The mirror and button assembly frequently falls off the windshield. Lots of interior panels have come off of doors. Doors that are sprung, doors that won't open, etc.

[deleted] 2025-08-14 03:15

Saw a Tesla in slow moving traffic today with a homemade decal saying “Heart (the T being the Tesla T - edgy) two sizes too small.” I rolled down my window and told the sweaty little white guy driving it that he spelled “dick” wrong.

No_shelter_here 2025-08-14 03:22

3 strikes and you havent even mentioned that it also has always looked stupid as fuck.

Grunge4U 2025-08-14 03:37

Sucks to see another softball piece by another major media outlet. Any question about why Tesla sales are down that dodges the reality that Musk is the primary reason isn't journalism.

torokunai 2025-08-14 03:46

I converted my Cybertruck order to a MY AWD in late 2023, so it wasn't the nazi thing for me (but it certainly is now). Cybertruck was supposed to have an "exoskeleton" from all that solid steel, but it turned out to be its most dodgy "innovation". Not a fan of steer-by-wire either.

Ezerick019 2025-08-14 03:59

Agree. I’m a Tesla owner. I’ll never forget in 2016 me and two friends going to a Tesla showroom to reserve our Model 3’s, waiting in a line that was like buying tickets to a new Star Wars film (the pre-Disney ones). We all worked together and would happily park the 3 “3’s” next to each other in our office parking lot. We were basically Tesla salespeople, and even convinced a few other coworkers to buy 3’s. Cut to 2025 and none of us would buy a Tesla again. I still have a Model Y, but I’m counting down the days until I can get rid of it for a Rivian R2. And it is 100% because of Elon. And there are many, many, MANY Tesla customers that feel the same way. Elon has destroyed Tesla. Just wait until the Rivian R2 comes out and you will clearly see how much damage he has done.

jaimi_wanders 2025-08-14 04:01

Hey, did you ever see it raining in Mad Max?? Huh??

jaimi_wanders 2025-08-14 04:02

Remember the “Truckla” gal? Crazy thing is that fun little YouTube mod job was a better truck than the Wankkkpanzer turned out…

Idntevncare 2025-08-14 04:09

fortunately for CNBC that's the mass majority of people!

Grunge4U 2025-08-14 04:12

I'm seriously considering an R2. I think it's going to be a game changer for Rivian.

SnoozleDoppel 2025-08-14 04:45

Tesla reliability and quality are poor too... Sat in a 135k X of my buddy and yes this was Covid inflation but was thinking wth is this interior at that price point. I am old school so Tesla tech doesn't excite me... I use my car to enjoy the performance, interior quietness, music, seats and comfort... As well as safety... Nothing that Tesla does appeal to me but I can see it appealing to more technophile people. For green conscious people though..Tesla was the only choice and now there are many more.

Dull-Credit-897 2025-08-14 05:03

Simone Giertz It was so much better than this shit stain.

Inevitable_Nail_2215 2025-08-14 05:12

When people write little ditties like this, you're sunk. https://youtube.com/shorts/dbn419hXK2c?si=kVufMtcZPqwwhnaR My kids found this online and sang it when the neighbor drives his CT.

goranlepuz 2025-08-14 06:03

Q: Why Tesla Cybertrucks Aren’t Selling? Counter-question: *Do you have eyes, Jim...?*

Dadd_io 2025-08-14 06:14

Because they look like a bad pinewood derby car 🤣

goranlepuz 2025-08-14 06:23

Indeed, but there's more: this guy was also a **massive** user of tax money through EV CO2 credit scheme and the SpaceX. It rather looks like his gamble was to go full retard right-winger and cozy up with the wannabe dictator to keep that. That cooperation of big business and state control was *at the very heart* of fascism and Nazism. **Thank God for Trump narcissism!** It could have been much worse otherwise. 😉

rruusu 2025-08-14 06:26

Points 2 and 3 are just corollaries of the first.

97GeoPrizm 2025-08-14 06:41

Damn, I thought he was off-putting but that’s worse than expected.

bulldozer_66 2025-08-14 07:15

It can't be used as a truck.

Enough-Meaning1514 2025-08-14 08:10

For that much money, you would assume that they would use proper glue but alas, even that part they can't do properly. And yes, glue! They use glue for the panels! Bunch of bellends...

NoIncrease299 2025-08-14 08:21

Not sure this really needed any sort of effort to figure out beyond, ya know, looking at it.

Smartimess 2025-08-14 08:45

The part is the striking one. If you bought a CT, you are probably a pompous asshole not very different from any person buying an oversized Raptor or Hummer a decade ago.

netscorer1 2025-08-14 08:52

Cybertruck sales were in dumpster even before Musk coming out party. It’s just a bad car with a hideous design, not clear purpose and lazy assembly process. Obviously, Musk showing his true colors, did not help.

GermanD2021 2025-08-14 08:52

Elmo’s death trap? Gee, I wonder why?!

Major-Delivery5332 2025-08-14 08:56

Does it have anything to do with the sieg-heiling CEO?

StoreSearcher1234 2025-08-14 08:59

> It’s expensive, has shit quality It's also judged to be very ugly by the majority of people who see one. I would not buy a Ford F150 Lightning EV pickup, but I don't consider it ugly. The Wankpanzer is repugnant. https://www.ford.no/content/dam/guxeu/global-shared/vehicle-images/f-150-lightning/ford-f_150_lightning-eu-Showroom_Crop_Moonshine-16x9-618x348-showroom-image.jpg

Toshiverse 2025-08-14 09:00

Have you ever been on one?

StoreSearcher1234 2025-08-14 09:03

> it was quite a pleasant surprise. It felt very solid, turned with steer by wire felt good, and it was pretty fast for its weight and size If you were to drive a Ford F150 Lightning EV pickup you'd feel exactly the same and it wouldn't be an ugly POS built by a Nazi.

Metamorpholine 2025-08-14 09:05

Somebody wants to use it as a truck?

VirginiaLuthier 2025-08-14 09:29

Easy-they are the ugliest things to ever have four wheels. Until you see one up close it may not be apparent....

Doublestack00 2025-08-14 10:29

It always comes down to price.

big_trike 2025-08-14 11:03

Instead of buying the election for Trump, Elon could have hedged his bets and bought Trump a golden calf to worship.

[deleted] 2025-08-14 11:10

Good point, I did not

Aaarya 2025-08-14 11:19

Best I can do : Trash can

livejamie 2025-08-14 11:56

I love the design. I love ugly/weird/unique-looking vehicles. It looks like something you'd drive in Halo. I love how fast it is, I love that it's different from every white/gray rectangle on the road. But there is no way in hell I'll ever support Tesla as long as Elon is involved.

a_Sable_Genus 2025-08-14 12:18

People keep trying to throw their trash in mine. Please stop. /s

dumpitdog 2025-08-14 13:35

There's a ferocious scandalous tail following the celebrity squirrel that he just can't shake, tune in to find out why she came down from the trees.

TrueCompetition6694 2025-08-14 14:12

And because it looks like a miniature garbage truck.

bigdirkmalone 2025-08-14 15:32

Looks like shit, drives like shit, is shit.

ConicalJohn 2025-08-14 15:42

Naw, he just buries his nuts then forgets where he puts them

SuperF91EX 2025-08-14 15:53

I cancelled after the actual sale price thing

SuperF91EX 2025-08-14 15:55

The performance of our model Y is exceptional. The tech is still top tier. The build quality and ride are fucking terrible.

[deleted] 2025-08-14 16:31

Unrelated is it true my ID4 with 64 cubic feet of storage is > the storage area in a truck bed?

maporita 2025-08-14 16:32

The fact that it looks like a urinal certainly doesn't help.

raygduncan 2025-08-14 16:36

Not rocket science. Expensive, ugly, too big for what it can carry, and Musk has damaged the brand irrevocably.

trustyjim 2025-08-14 16:36

I don’t think they really captured how polarizing the visual design is. Probably a 90/10 split with 90% of people hating it

reddit_is_fash_trash 2025-08-14 17:49

The stupid look is something that comes down to subjective taste. Musk's personal reputation alone will sink all future endeavors from Tesla.

reddit_is_fash_trash 2025-08-14 17:53

Seriously one of the most baffling high-profile moves in history. Do you know any MAGAts who drive an EV? I don't, and I live in a red state. Being poised to become the world's first trillionaire just wasn't enough. He obviously had no choice but to go and dismantle the federal government to secure even more wealth for himself...

Hopeful-Lab-238 2025-08-14 18:32

Yes we know it’s a failure. Can we move onto something else

zantosh 2025-08-14 19:19

Well. I dunno about that, perhaps that's the case for many CT owners. I know - I met a few and I don't like them. But I bought a CT, and I do like mine, but for me, there's a simplicity in it. I was getting really tired of people getting all wierd about door dings. I mean, it's a car, so what's the big deal, but people would get really angry with door dings. Personally, people dinging my car didn't bother me, but it did bother my wife. The CT, well you can't really ding it. And so that eliminated that problem. It's also spacious, so that is a big benefit over an SUV. And even if you don't like the design, it's a good design as far as design aesthetics go. It's very brutalist and sterile, so if you don't like that, then you won't like the CT. But by dispeling with the paint, and the design, it becomes a little timeless. I don't think it'll look like a 20s car or any other decade, it'll always just look weird. All in all, I don't think your opinion is accurate.

Vegas21Guy 2025-08-14 19:45

And borderline useless! Or should I just say, useless?

ipub 2025-08-14 20:26

Probably because they're glued together and are a complete hot mess and also because musk nazi saluted to the world.

Maximum-Objective-39 2025-08-14 22:14

This \^ If not for who the damn thing was associated with, it would just be another entry in the long and sometimes even venerable (though not in this case) line of ugly cars. I mean, there are people who like how the Aztec Looks. There's people who like the PT Cruiser!

Perfect_Toe_6526 2025-08-15 01:14

Ugly shape and usability is hard

danielbot 2025-08-15 08:59

Cybertruck looks objectively stupid.

danielbot 2025-08-15 09:07

Or an enlarged stainless steel pedal bin. [See for yourself](https://www.google.com/search?q=stainless+pedal+bin).

SakaWreath 2025-08-15 12:44

Tesla wouldn’t exist if Obama hadn’t stepped in and loaned them the half a billion dollars that they needed to overhaul and open the Fremont plant. He had no way of financing that deal on his own, he wasn’t even a billionaire until after that plant opened and they started shipping cars.

avatarroku157 2025-08-15 19:29

you didnt even include that it looks like a sanded down lego

Maximum-Objective-39 2025-08-15 19:36

It looks like it belongs in Cyberpunk 2077.

thunderflies 2025-08-16 01:07

I love the brutalist styling of the cybertruck, it’s just a shame it’s made by a Nazi and owning one will forever be associated with being a Nazi supporter. I guess some people are ok with that though, hope you enjoy your truck.

thunderflies 2025-08-16 01:11

I was really expecting a different image - one involving a salute.

bulldozer_66 2025-08-16 14:28

Low capacity trash can. Highly inefficient even in that role.

IcyHowl4540 2025-08-16 16:52

[The OTHER reason Cybertrucks can't sell:](https://i.redd.it/yvr2cdw5lpee1.gif):

Bdowns_770 2025-08-17 14:00

But McKinsey will work out strategy that looks great on paper for $10M.

[deleted] 2025-08-17 17:38

"Why Tesla Cybertrucks Aren’t Selling" Have you ever seen a photo of them? Have you ever heard a single thing about them?? Musk's ketamine habit trolled all of you bootlickers :D

FarOkra6309 2025-08-18 18:06

It's expensive, that's it's only real issue. Awesome truck. As someone who would love to have one, we couldn't give less of a shit what you or others classify owner's personalities as.

zantosh 2025-09-09 17:23

Well ... I know I'm not a Nazi so that's good enough for me. Frankly, if you own a VW or a Mercedes Benz, you're, for sure, driving a Nazi vehicle, since they literally participated in the holocaust by providing all the vehicles for the German army. Tesla and Elon may have tarnished their name, but thankfully the US hasn't yet started a public campaign that we can be permanently ashamed of, aided by Muskie.

zantosh 2025-09-09 17:25

Totally agree. I hated the Azztek and the PT Cruiser. I think those people have poor taste. I'm sure others feel that way about me, since I have a CT. But I found the utility of the CT to be pretty compelling. I can't get a 911 Targa, since I have responsibilities, but the CT helps with those responsibilities while being mad fun, so at some point, objectivity must prevail.

zantosh 2025-09-09 17:46

I think, on this point, I have no idea how other CT owners are, but I guess I am a bit of a pompous asshole. However by neighbors seem to like me so maybe I'm not so pompous and maybe I'm not really an asshole, who knows. I do like my CT, it's fun, and it can take on a lot of cargo in the flatbed. Eventually, I feel, it's not a big deal, since we have choices, and making a choice (or not) based on the opinion of someone else isn't the way to go.
