Did you had to go to your dealer to get the update or did you go there for other reasons?

I was stuck on 1.4. Dealer couldn't install 2.0 so they updated only modules. After that ota came in 30h.

Did you try yourself beforehand? What steps did you go through if not just simply check for updates?

Yeah, no update was available. After the dealer updated all other modules of car, ota came in 30h. They couldn't update the car, they said 1.4 is the latest version for my car.

1. What car do you have? I guess you have a BYD Seal U or BYD Seal U DM-i? (for these 2 Models the "locked OBD port problem" has been seen before.
2. Yes it is illegal in the EU, as indepentent repair shops would be at a disadvantage:
> The EU court ruled that the OBD data has to be also accessible for independent repair shops and with "generic OBD hardware".

Byd Seal, ev.

Mhm.
That would be worrying. You are the first Seal owner to report that. In the German BYD Seal forum all BYD Seals did not report problems, but only Seal U and Seal U DM-i owners they ALL have this OBD lock. (with V.2.0.0)
But you wrote, that you now already have all 2.1.0 Features? Like all the ICC improvements?
Like shown here in the Update log:

Then you would be on an never version, which may now also have a lock?!
Could you post a screenshot of you version infos screen (with IMEI removed)?

Same can confirm. I have 2.0 ota update. Modules updated in the dealer. Some features enabled in the UI which will come in 2.1.0 ota update supposedly. Now obd is locked.
Quick info: I'm in Türkiye tho. We have the 160kw which has some stuttering issue while full acceleration around 95-105 kmh. Datas are collected from car via engineer connected to the car. These module updates made it less noticeable.

Great news. Theft from hacking the OBD port (especially Toyota's) is rife and I know of people who have been putting physical locks on their OBD port. to stop their car (not BYD) been stolen.

Wtf. I would rather have obd working, i am paying for insurance, so i don't mind stealing. Jeez.

Habe heute 2.1 OTA update bekommen. 2025 Seal eV. Kann keine Werte mehr über ODB auslesen😥 Schade vorallem Akku Temperatur/Zellspannungen und Ströme waren doch sehr interessant. LG aus Österreich
