Just a fact. Tesla is using ordinary Model Y and could use 3 or any Tesla model. They make a couple million new ones a year and have a couple million HW4 versions on the road. Tesla can put millions of robotaxis on roads all over with a software download. Waymo hand builds its cars with a rack of Lidars and compute added for at least 3X the cost of the base Jaguar eSUV and is hoping to scale up to 10k a year within a year. So noting that Waymo can’t scale just points out this fact. If in 2026 both are ready to scale rapidly because the software is proven, what happens is Tesla just scales to 99%+ of the market by downloading software and Waymo starts to learn about mass production of hardware. That doesn’t even count Tesla’s dedicated mass production of Cybercab and RoboVan that’s currently ramping up. These are still facts even if you hate Elon and want everything he touches to be a failure.
