Sealion 7 vibration

Low-Permission-9317 | 2025-12-07 15:43 | 57 views

This is a brand new Sealion 7. There is a noticeable vibration at around 100 km/h. What can cause this, anyone experiencing su h a weird thing ?

Misaligned direction, tires with uneven thread or pressure, warped brakes. I would take it to the dealership for them to double check.

Yes, unfortunately I’m well aware of the issue - a lot of owners have been complaining about this phenomenon. We’ve been looking for a solution for months, apparently some people had it resolved with a driveshaft replacement, but I’m not aware of any other fix.

I have the same on my two weeks old Sealion 7. It doesnt really bother me. It only happens when ICC is engaged.

You should do an urgent alignment and balancing if you travel long distances or travel at speed

Can tell me this what maps please best regards

It’s issues like these why I’ll never buy a Chinese car and I wonder why people accept these kind of issues when they’ve paid good money for a car and get poor quality

Wild that you think these issues are any more prevalent in Chinese cars.

1. Needs a wheel alignment and balance 2. Intermittent Shaft Oscilation. If an alignment and balance doesn't fix the vibration then get the shop to look into the rear motor intermittent shaft. I know of a few Seals with this issue and have been reported to be out of tolerance and can oscilate, instead of just spin, which causes vibration. Will be replaced under warranty.

It's a driveshaft issue. Alignment and balancing won't fix this issue.

DanZukito 2025-12-08 00:53

Just as it says, the vibration appears when going at high speeds, if it were from the moment you start walking it would be something else.

Usually it's an alignment and balance, but the problem with the Sealion's is to do with badly made driveshafts. It's a known problem that is evident in brand new cars (what OP is complaining about). It's highly unlikely an alignment and balance will fix anything here.

Ahh no one accepts these kinds of issues? You take it back into the dealership and they repair it under warranty. You can't expect every single product a company manufacturers to be 100% perfect. My BMW has been in for warranty recalls plenty of times and that is German engineering. I have 3 Samsung a/c and one broke numerous times until I got rid of it and that was Korean. The other 2 are still going perfectly 7 years later. My Bose qc35 ii I've had for years and they've been flawless, the particular set I have were manufactured in China. My friend owned a Ford and was caught up in the powershift class action lawsuit as Ford were refusing to resolve / fix it / compensate customers and those parts were manufactured in a number of countries including USA. People need to get off the china bashing bandwagon.

There’s no such thing as an “intermittent shaft oscillation”. It’s balanced and true, or it isn’t.

Nos_4r2 2025-12-08 03:46

What I was told by a BYD Technician. He was describing the rotating action that occurs, it will tend to oscilate instead of spin true which is when vibration occurs. IN the Seal in particular, it tends to only happen at high speeds 80kmh+ Did not clarify if that occurs due to imbalance or due to loose fitment.

Wheel weight (fell off) lost on one or more tires, could cause this.

May not be an alignment issue. My polestar had issue with the acoustic foam in the tyres coming away and causing the wobble/vibration.

Hotel_Bright 2025-12-09 16:45

driveshaft front or back?

ChangeSuitable6633 2025-12-12 05:14

Did they actually replace the fronts, the rears, or all of them?

Hotel_Bright 2025-12-18 17:21

any update on the issue?

Low-Permission-9317 2025-12-19 19:10

No

Hotel_Bright 2025-12-29 14:16

it happens every time when speed is above 110 KM. ICC is not a reason of this problem.

i have the same problem already did wheel balancing 2 times and plan to do it a third time in a better wheel shop with road force and an alignment just in case (all this with my own cost and time because BYD said next appointment is in a month and i need to use this as a daily and i jsut cant see myself driving a brand new car with a problem ) if that doesn’t fix it then i will wait for the BYD service to look at it as well honestly this is so disappointing

Mammoth-Extension780 2026-01-05 10:42

update\* did a road force check tires and wheels balancing everything nothing worked i don't know waiting for the byd service appointment

Low-Permission-9317 2026-01-18 06:22

Did you go the service? Any result

Low-Permission-9317 2026-01-18 06:22

Any solution yet?

Mammoth-Extension780 2026-01-18 13:50

yes they acknowledged the problem and said they will further inspect the car still waiting for the inspection

Hotel_Bright 2026-02-03 11:11

any update?

Either_While_2883 2026-02-08 22:30

Country of purchase? Build month?

Low-Permission-9317 2026-02-10 16:12

Turkey 2025 -10

Mammoth-Extension780 2026-03-09 14:19

mechanic says the problem is because of a tire flat spot but BYD denies responsibility saying that I created the flat spot and even though i am telling them that i am willing to pay for the new set of tires only if they acknowledge that it will fix the problem and if it doesnt they will be liable still not taking that and they say no i think they only solution is to go legally

Hotel_Bright 2026-03-09 14:38

My problem was solved by replacing 1 bearing in the front.
