To a surprise of basically no one Cybertruck is not selling. And rest of current generation of EV pickups are also not selling. Tech (and customers) are not ready. It's only a nerd/halo truck. Which is also not a surprise why Hummer is doing kind of well compared to others, if you look at its price. It's a stupid truck. But it's stupid in a way that can appeal to some people, other than nazis.

LVegasGuy 2025-07-16 21:05

To be fair there were more Yugo's sold than Cybertrucks.

tryatriassic 2025-07-16 21:21

Wow, it's almost like the truck buying demographic and the EV buying demographic form two non-overlapping circles in a Venn diagram ... whodathunked?

mustangfan12 2025-07-16 21:22

I think its more than just truck buyers wanting V8s over anything else. EVs do not do well with towing or other truck things

tryatriassic 2025-07-16 21:27

Well, yes, that is why the typical truck buyer buys a truck. To do truck things. Even if it's aspirational.

ShotNixon 2025-07-16 21:39

This is interesting considering I didn’t know there was a hummer EV and that tesler had 2 mILLiOn pReORdErs!

ryan_dfs 2025-07-17 00:57

Pimple faced analysts need to start asking the hard hitting questions, like when are you writing down the Cybertruck inventory value and for what amount? There’s no way the existing inventory has the same carrying value as what’s on the balance sheet.

Born-Gur-1275 2025-07-17 01:32

Cyber Trucks are toys, not real trucks. They’re for show, whatever that means to tiny dicks.

Grunge4U 2025-07-17 01:44

EV's can tow a lot but no one is putting a large enough battery to get the range you need to tow.

mrdilldozer 2025-07-17 01:55

It's not just the tech, like fundamentally the cybertruck is a poorly designed vehicle.

ManifestDestinysChld 2025-07-17 02:10

Earlier this year I stopped to charge my EV on my way to wherever I was going, and a Hummer EV rolled up and parked at one of the 350 kW "Ultra" chargers at Electrify America. 8-ish hours later I was on my way home and stopped at the same place to top off. The Hummer EV was still there. It was definitely the same one because the plug-hog charge was up to $150 and climbing. (And this was at a remote parking lot at an almost-all-the-way-dead zombie mall, so it's not like there weren't hundreds of other spots they could've parked in. Dude just wanted to be a douchecanoe.)

Beezelbubba 2025-07-17 02:13

I still love giving the thumbs down to Wankpanzer drivers from my Lightning, the look on their face is awesome

ManifestDestinysChld 2025-07-17 02:18

[Did they lease out CTs](https://www.reddit.com/r/stocks/comments/1jhe6r8/teslas_endoflease_vehicle_accounting_how_falling/) or just sell them outright? Because this could turn into a remarkable shit-tornado.

CouncilmanRickPrime 2025-07-17 03:07

I just saw yet another parking lot with a bunch of unsold Cybertrucks recently

CouncilmanRickPrime 2025-07-17 03:19

>As Musk once said about the shiny EV: “We dug our own grave with Cybertruck.” This is a quote that will forever live in infamy next to people calling the Internet a fad.

CouncilmanRickPrime 2025-07-17 03:27

I'm honestly shocked the Hummer is selling this well mostly because it's by far the most expensive at about $100k.

CouncilmanRickPrime 2025-07-17 03:28

The Hummer EV has the biggest battery of any EV. If it still can't tow very far, it's just not happening.

suprPHREAK 2025-07-17 03:28

Hummer EV never tried to compete with pickup trucks. It was never marketed as being utilitarian. It was never marketed as being useful. It was never said to be better than any other SUV out there. It was meant to be an absolutely over the top display of excess and a general "fuck you I'm having fun" to everything on the road. And it does this very well.

CouncilmanRickPrime 2025-07-17 03:28

Well it is a Hummer

jimhillhouse 2025-07-17 03:30

I think Elon, as the leader, not just CRO, of Tesla and the one person who set the design of the Cyber Truck, should reword that to, “I dug Tesla’s grave.”

CouncilmanRickPrime 2025-07-17 03:39

No when it's a failure it's a team effort! Only when it's a success is it Elon's brilliance.

JIsADev 2025-07-17 07:39

The novelty has worn off

Stewth 2025-07-17 07:49

"designed"? Bold way to describe a Nepo baby, with absolutely zero domain knowledge or experience, painting "big twuck wot go wif the bzzzt" on the wall in his own shit.

[deleted] 2025-07-17 09:14

Outlaesed.

Darryl_Lict 2025-07-17 09:38

That's a remarkably prescient statement coming from Musk (October 18, 2023). Hilariously, he was talking about ramping production to meet demand, not that the Cybertruck was a pile of shit. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQNBUuw-5\_Q](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQNBUuw-5_Q)

CouncilmanRickPrime 2025-07-17 12:40

Yeah but it will definitely end up infamous after the Cybertruck ruins the company

secretlyjudging 2025-07-17 12:58

Would never get a Tesla with all the Elon baggage. Having said that, I loved the audacity of making a toy truck that has weird capabilities. Imagine if it actually crab walked, was amphibious, long range, strong one piece frame and not just aluminum with metal sheets glued on etc etc. If Elon even delivered a third of what he promised it would have been a relative success. Elon is shitty Bruce Wayne. Bruce Wayne is a billionaire and made weird shaped vehicles that actually had all sorts of weird capabilities that worked. 99% impractical except for the 1% percent of the time it’s a lifesaver. Cybertruck could’ve been that. An impractical vehicle but people would marvel at it because, hey I could cut commute by floating across this river or I can crab walk across for some reason on this beach. There’s plenty of people where 100k on a toy is pocket change or write off.

UnicornGangstar 2025-07-17 14:05

The Sierra/Silverado Max Range would be the best options. Both on the same platform as the hummer but hummer is much less aerodynamic. The max range will get you 460 miles. So roughly 200 towing.

UnicornGangstar 2025-07-17 14:10

The Sierra EV and Silverado EV's are the same platform with different panels and interiors. So add those in and GMC sold 4508 hummer ev + 3058 Silverado EV & Sierra EV = 7566 Vs Ketamine Motors 4306. Tesla is even more cooked than the article leads on.

CouncilmanRickPrime 2025-07-17 14:40

I didn't factor in aerodynamics. Thanks. But honestly, if most people with a truck admitted they never tow anything, EVs trucks would be fine for most people. I'd get one but I'm cheap and have no car note and don't want one.

pzerr 2025-07-17 14:50

I would like an EV truck but they are not quite there but for fairly specific situations. I take my work truck home but charging at home means I am paying for the power direct. Possibly I could write some off but that is not worth the paperwork. As a personal vehicle it does not do the 3 or 4 long trips I make a year and if towing, the range is really bad. I thought of getting one for most of my dad to day work but having a second vehicle for the few other situations just does not make any economic sense. It will get there.

TheLongestLake 2025-07-17 15:28

jeez, the price of either of these are insane lol

bluethunder82 2025-07-18 06:20

I keep saying Elon Musk could have literally become Batman and he chose Nazi instead.

TempleSquare 2025-07-19 03:25

Decent drivetrain... Terrible *everything else*. Like absolutely terrible. Worst production vehicle since the 1980s.

foxylisapatra 2025-07-19 11:00

I LOOOOOOVE my Cybertruck and it has nothing to do with race, that's all I know! LOL!! It's an AWESOME truck, and anyone who says otherwise hasn't diven one;D Mind boggling you nerds think people who need to purchase work trucks over 6000lbs do it because of reasons other than tax strategies. When people get off their a$$ and start working, they may be able to understand actual reasoning that determines a consumer's choice. :)

foxylisapatra 2025-07-19 11:06

I do not understand the connection of cybertruck and nazi. i have a cybertruck and this in no way speaks to anything in my psyche. # Addressing the “Cybertruck and Nazi” Association There is **no factual or inherent connection** between the Tesla Cybertruck and Nazism, nor does owning or driving a Cybertruck say anything about one’s personal beliefs or psyche. # Why Has This Topic Come Up? Occasionally, media articles or social media discourse use provocative imagery or analogies to comment on the Cybertruck’s **design**, marketing, or cultural impact. For example: * Some have pointed to the **sharp, angular aesthetics** of the Cybertruck, comparing its look to certain military vehicles or elements from dystopian fiction, sometimes using extreme historic references as hyperbole. * A few commentators or meme creators—often satirically or critically—have tried to link its futuristic, severe look to a "totalitarian" or "militaristic" aesthetic for shock or commentary. * These comparisons are **not based on the intent of Tesla, its design team, or its actual use**. They are subjective opinions or attempts at humor, not rooted in real associations. # What Does the Cybertruck Actually Represent? * The **Cybertruck** is a fully electric pickup designed by Tesla, focusing on innovation, utility, and a distinctive futuristic aesthetic. * It is marketed toward buyers interested in sustainability, performance, and unique styling—not ideological messaging or historical references. * **You and most owners have chosen the Cybertruck** for practical, personal, or technological reasons that are entirely unrelated to any extreme imagery. # Key Takeaways * Any perceived connection between the Cybertruck and Nazism is the result of *commentary or satire*—not fact, intent, or widespread belief. * Buying or enjoying the Cybertruck reflects interest in **innovation, EV technology, and distinctive design**, not any kind of ideology. * There is **no mainstream or credible source** that links Cybertruck ownership with any negative or extremist ideology. If you have specific examples or references where you saw this alleged connection made, sharing more details could help clarify the origins or intent of those statements. In reality, **the Cybertruck is just a truck—and your ownership speaks only to your automotive preferences and lifestyle**.

I really hope we get to the day where I can get a RCSB lightning.

jankjig 2025-07-23 01:30

In Portland I see several cyber trucks every day on my 30 minute commute. I think I’ve seen one EV hummer in the wild. Not to say this data is incorrect, but I also think demographic matters.
