Waymo better

Senor707 2025-06-30 19:08

Waymo uses better technology. I see them in S.F. everywhere.

ThrCapTrade 2025-06-30 19:09

Tesla stock will moon over this news for sure. Disclaimer: I’m not karma seeking

bASSdude66 2025-06-30 19:15

Well... duuuh!

babypho 2025-06-30 19:15

Waymo active robotaxi

[deleted] 2025-06-30 19:32

News flash! Ford announces Tesla FSD deal dead in favor of Waymo. Tesla stock up 20% on news!

Radarhog1976 2025-06-30 19:33

Tesla is toast. The $100 down day is imminent. No more tax welfare going to Tesla. No sales. No FSD sales. No gimmicky Optimus. Sell or lose it.

jaskij 2025-06-30 19:33

[mooning means some quite different](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mooning)

saigyoooo 2025-06-30 19:36

This has to be one of the major pieces leading to end of Musk. I know there are so many. But this is a serious loss.

Call555JackChop 2025-06-30 19:38

I was in Phoenix last month and they’re absolutely all over the place

Federal_Owl_9500 2025-06-30 19:57

You underestimate the delusion of retail Tesla investors. One of those folks' last comments to me on pro-Tesla sub when I linked to a Bloomberg article: "lol, bloomberg."

TheB1G_Lebowski 2025-06-30 20:07

Waymo > Tessler

Charming-Tap-1332 2025-06-30 20:09

#Countdown to Elon Musk saying he's never met with Jim Farley... #Cameras only will NEVER work.

Charming-Tap-1332 2025-06-30 20:10

I agree with you. This is much more significant than it initially seems.

Gindotto 2025-06-30 20:19

Tesla +5% tomorrow.

Brokenandburnt 2025-06-30 20:41

Probably from the MAGA side of the spectrum. Fox and all other republican owned outlets has instilled a pathological distrust of what they call 'Legacy media'

BigFishPub 2025-06-30 20:56

Interesting fun fact.. Phoenix is about to become the largest autonomous car zone in the world.

brintoul 2025-06-30 20:59

That’s a page out of their Beloved Leader Musk’s playbook. He’s always poo-pooing sources of news.

SolutionWarm6576 2025-06-30 21:14

There’s one major lawsuit. I think starting in August, involving a kid who was ejected and died after the vehicle he was riding in collided with someone driving a Tesla using FSD. Tesla tried to block it, but a judge just recently, allowed it to go forward.

Amazonreviewscool67 2025-06-30 21:22

Wayyyyymo better tech

pailhead011 2025-06-30 21:24

I kinda like how FSD solved this. Cameras only, a chase car, and a human driver. If you’re sitting in the back it probably feels the same as Waymo.

Amazonreviewscool67 2025-06-30 21:28

Sigh, another 10% up for some fucking reason I guess

Appropriate_Grab5221 2025-06-30 21:28

He chose wisely 👍

Fit_Cucumber_709 2025-06-30 21:29

Mo better? Or way mo better?

Sorry-Programmer9826 2025-06-30 21:37

My money's on it being the very underwhelming robotaxi launch that killed the deal

StellarJayZ 2025-06-30 21:47

Fox has also been pushing TSLA as a good investment. Seriously. A few weeks ago in a finance sub people were saying "we have brand new investors who have never owned a stock come in just to buy Tesla because Fox told them it's a good buy." These people are that gullible. If I'm at my mom's I'll watch television and they advertise buying gold and how to pull money from retirement accounts to do it, which isn't necessarily bad except it's usually coins or some bullshit.

secretlyjudging 2025-06-30 21:48

Saw a couple of taxicab promoter vids and they all dump on how ugly Waymos are. I totally agree. But could care less if it actually worked.

Holiday_Package_5375 2025-06-30 21:57

Mo Salah better!

Bobinss 2025-06-30 22:08

Hey man, Tesla is taking in four dollars and twenty cents on each Robotaxi ride they complete. Who cares if they don't have a million of the things on the road yet? What Tesla does have is something none of the other automakers have: a ridesharing revenue stream. Wall Street eats that shit up (even if Tesla only has 10 robotaxis that only operate during daylight hours unless it rains and stop for shadows on the road).

Canadian_Border_Czar 2025-06-30 22:34

Which is great,  because the robots will need to be able to get around when everyone burrows underground to escape the sun.  I can only hope that by that point they will have developed tire technology capable of maintaining traction (and velocity) on molten sand.

I-Have-No-King 2025-06-30 23:45

And TSLA goes up $8/share because why not.

Ok_Addition_356 2025-06-30 23:52

Yeah probably waiting to see the real life results.  Not impressive compared to waymo it seems

Ok_Addition_356 2025-06-30 23:52

Why does it matter. It's just a taxi lol

Zorkmid123 2025-06-30 23:53

One of the major stock pumps has been that “legacy auto will of course license FSD.” What will the Stans say now? They might start pumping Dojo again as a distraction.

jregovic 2025-07-01 00:17

GME_meltdown is constantly amazed at the ability for rubes to throw money at GameStop. Bitcoin is amazed at the willingness for fools to jump into crypto. The rubes will keep piling in to Tesla because all Tesla still gets all of the press.

BigFishPub 2025-07-01 00:25

Was talking to a buddy the other day about AI. I mentioned that skynet wouldn't need to kill us outright. They tie us up in gridlock just by taking over all the street light signals.

moose_antenna 2025-07-01 00:43

Waymo! Together! Strong!

demonicbullet 2025-07-01 01:02

So calls?

demonicbullet 2025-07-01 01:05

I've quit debating with Tesla people It's circular logic "Do you own one" No but if you look at this report "No but do you own one" Well no because you see in this video here where it swerves at- "Lol doesn't own one" Like why the fuck would I own one if I don't believe it's a good product 😭 well the 0% is appealing but I am not going to play ball with that repair program, if they still have one in 5 years when some shit breaks that I can't physically fix ETA: My last debate was more theoretical pointing out my concerns about cameras versus lidar and potential for camera burn as lidar becomes more popular and potentially lower positioned/more points. Apparently since I didn't own a Tesla basic knowledge that lidar burns camera isn't something i could possibly know.... Anyways I am curious to see how that will go over lidar's evolution, I do suspect they will get lower/in more positions, j think right now the only thing saving Teslas cameras from the x90 is how fucking high it is of the ground and where it positioned/angled that one has burnt traffic cameras allegedly though so I don't think Teslas cameras are going to be immune if/when the angle is right. They might be able to make some form of resistance or counter but the current casual owners are going to be fucking PISSED if that becomes a problem.

gruss_gott 2025-07-01 01:29

It's: waymo bettah

gruss_gott 2025-07-01 01:30

FSD works great as long as it's not facing Sunlight

[deleted] 2025-07-01 02:00

Downvote from me. Fox absolutely doesn’t push any stories that suggest TSLA is a good investment. Do you ever watch Fox??

coffeespeaking 2025-07-01 02:01

Actual technology. Tesla uses some guy hiding in the trunk.

StellarJayZ 2025-07-01 02:09

No, I only saw clips of them pushing it. I assume you watch 24/7/365 so can say definitively that they never have. Seriously though, when do you sleep? I know Boomers seem to be able to take it in all day e're day but even they sleep sometimes.

move_machine 2025-07-01 02:10

Let me guess: stock went up

move_machine 2025-07-01 02:11

"Legacy car manufacturer Ford is so old it doesn't understand the superior technology TSLA brings to the table!"

thomasbeagle 2025-07-01 02:17

Damn Poe's Law strikes again.

Imper1um 2025-07-01 02:25

Tesla gonna crash harder than Enron when the bubble bursts. P/E ratio is right now 177.82. Enron was 70 when it collapsed.

Happy-go-lucky-37 2025-07-01 02:28

Los dos. Quiere decir los dos.

meltbox 2025-07-01 02:28

Surprisingly cars already have it built in. Did you know they put steel wheels under the rubber? Nifty.

[deleted] 2025-07-01 02:33

I'm guessing it's fox business. And I'm pretty sure both fox business and faux news run advertisements by scam companies selling gold targeting the elderly. These are the companies selling AGE's for double or even triple the actual spot price...

[deleted] 2025-07-01 02:43

It’s possible that it could be Fox Business (I don’t watch much of that) but I watch Fox News a lot and Fox News is not singing any praises of Tesla.

[deleted] 2025-07-01 02:45

I watch Fox News a lot but not 24/7. I get in a good 7 hours of sleep each night. What news outlets do you watch? I like the news “propaganda” that Fox puts out and I hate the news propaganda that MSNBC, CNN, NBC, ABC, NYT and Wash Post put out.

chriskiji 2025-07-01 02:56

The boosters have drunk all the Kool Aid. All of it.

[deleted] 2025-07-01 02:58

Lol not since musk "betrayed" trump? For a magat propaganda station like faux news, that's a capital offense!

[deleted] 2025-07-01 03:07

😊

Stewth 2025-07-01 03:30

tesla stock surges 15% on this terrible news

[deleted] 2025-07-01 03:39

The one video I saw had a rather large guy in the front seat, didn’t even bother to hide him under the hood.

zzbear03 2025-07-01 04:01

If car companies use Waymo tech do they need all the ugly cameras and radar everywhere? I think this is why Tesla went the camera only route, design look over actual function lol

nofattyacid 2025-07-01 04:03

Cool youtube video about a guy in Fresno CA who spent 40 years building a 10 acre home underground. [https://youtu.be/mUKRPoQKynk?si=Bb0qzS8JRb1AjJXD](https://youtu.be/mUKRPoQKynk?si=Bb0qzS8JRb1AjJXD)

StellarJayZ 2025-07-01 04:38

None, dude. Who watches television news in 2025? Do you need a walker?

mrjackspade 2025-07-01 04:51

I'm in Tempe and I fucking love Waymo. It's unfortunate it ends up being the same cost as an Uber, but not needing to tip the AI is great.

saigyoooo 2025-07-01 05:18

Like Musk gets on the horn and starts conning?

Canadian_Border_Czar 2025-07-01 07:06

Alright, next time there is a volcano erupting in Hawaii, you go rent a car and drive across the molten lava.  Let me know how far those steel rims got you.

Canadian_Border_Czar 2025-07-01 07:08

That is super cool. Thank you for sharing that.

entropy512 2025-07-01 10:40

Waymo ahead

1funnyguy4fun 2025-07-01 11:35

Said it before and I’ll say it again, there’s going to be a bagholder when Tesla craps out and it ain’t gonna be me.

jxe22 2025-07-01 12:17

I’d like to be able to say the same but I have a Vanguard index fund and I know Vanguard owns like 7 or 8% of all Tesla stock. A whole lot of us are going to eat that hit.

Imper1um 2025-07-01 13:34

It's not just Vanguard, almost all index funds have some kind of Tesla stock in decent quantities, almost all retirement systems own a bit of Tesla stock except the ones who evacuated due to the salute. It's gonna be a bloodbath when the stock tanks.

duderos 2025-07-01 13:57

Waaay Mo

[deleted] 2025-07-01 14:42

No walker needed by me! In fact, I’m about to head out and do my daily 8 mile ride on my mountain bike.

dtyamada 2025-07-01 15:25

Of course it should go up on that news. Now they don't have to share the taxi market with Ford /s

Senor707 2025-07-01 17:02

Trunk Monkey?

[deleted] 2025-07-01 17:55

demonicbullet 2025-07-02 19:44

He doesn't even have to get on the horn he just has to release bad financials up 5% on a 14% loss y-y in sales fuck me 😂

hilldog4lyfe 2025-07-02 20:18

No shit

frunko1 2025-07-02 22:15

Can't trust that silly mathematical excel data

theGuyWhoOnlyShorts 2025-07-05 05:59

I hope you knew what you were saying. Enron was a Ponzi scheme - you cannot have a PE ratio for a freaking Ponzi scheme there is no E for it. As much as I hate Tesla stock… Its overvalued but if it is cut into half from here I would say its fairly valued and people will go and buy their stock in bulk. You need to start reading annual reports instead of putting gibberish

PlaneteGreatAgain 2025-07-05 06:19

Normal

Imper1um 2025-07-05 13:53

At the very core, Enron was a scam. Madoff talked big about how his company was making inroads on innovative new trading methods. Also, you are slightly incorrect on the Enron scandal: Enron had roughly $60bn in assets at the time of the crash, so there was an E. The core of Tesla is that 95% of the value is hype... false hype. FSD is barely Level 2 driving and still has numerous cases of it failing in basic driving conditions. Robotaxis are limited to a small area, and cannot operate without a safety driver, and still have serious issues even with a safety driver. The Cybertruck has utterly failed. The owner is a dumb Nazi that his salute has cost the company 80% of it's international sales. Tesla hasn't released a new successful car in over a decade now. Musk bribed the American people to get a despot in office, then publicly broke up with him putting his company's contracts with the US government in jeopardy. The EV tax credit has just been nixed. The stock is being propped up by sticks. This is why everyone in this subreddit doesn't understand why the stock is still valued above $30. This is why with every negative thing that comes out against Tesla we get confused why the stock is up another 3%. We all know that sooner or later, some large investor is gonna get greedy and pull out in a massive way. That is going to start the avalanche, just like Enron, it's going to cascade into a full blown selloff that results in millions of Americans losing their pensions and retirement funds. The only difference is that the stock market is the bank. This is going to cascade into other stocks which will send the market into free fall as other companies looking to recover their position from the Tesla failures sell off in other stocks. Right now, Tesla is safe. There's a general agreement to not sell at the top and retail investors are still deluded by Musk's lies that they aren't pulling out in massive droves. However, greed has only so much patience. Eventually, the sinner in the investor will come out. Eventually, the House of Cards will tumble.

Hairy_Manufacturer92 2025-07-17 03:53

RIP Ford

smith1029 2025-07-26 09:35

Tesla stock is like definition of Ponzi scheme
