Sealion 7 OEM dashcam install but no DVR app

peter1369 | 2025-12-06 11:31 | 27 views

Hi, I got a dashcam and installed it but I can't get the dvr app to show up even with multiple resets. If anyone can help that would be great. Thanks. I'm on version 51.1.4.2507240.1

Faulty camera or wiring maybe as it will show up on reboot once installed.

Did you buy the one with the blue plug instead of the white plug?

peter1369 2025-12-06 12:58

No it was white plug and it clips and locks in fine.

I have the same problem.

Thanks mate. I didn't want it to be this but I will contact the supplier and hope they can send out a replacement.

What’s the model number of the cam?

peter1369 2025-12-06 19:52

It is El-3776900 stex-3776940 with a white plug. Thanks.

I had problems with that one - couldn’t get it to work. Got a refund and then tried a different supplier. This is the one that worked for me first time 🙂 https://preview.redd.it/6rjrhb0ean5g1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=99fe942ec70df390fab22814779b37a7365899f5

Hi, did you do a hard reset on the infotainment wuile the vehicle was powered on? The part where you hold the volume knob/medial button for 10s.

peter1369 2025-12-07 02:50

yeah did that multiple times but didnt work. Now im trying to get the dash cam exchanged with the supplier .

Did you install the SD card reader module as well? Australian models don’t come with them and that might be a cause.

peter1369 2025-12-07 03:35

No i just used a usb C sd card adapter. The sd card shows up in the file manager app but no DVR app.

hybroid 2025-12-07 03:38

That might be the reason then. Maybe it needs to detect that SD card module itself and not via a USB adapter. Worth asking the supplier.

mine from nicebyd works

[deleted] 2025-12-07 09:33

don't, the sd card module has issues and doesnt wake up when car goes to sleep u/peter1369 use the USB C module with an adapter or usb c flash drive, up to 256GB the DVR will show regardless of storage, as it records to car storage by default if no external is found likely a faulty camera or wrong model, I got 2 from nicebyd and they work

hybroid 2025-12-07 09:43

Oh so it definitely works via USB-C drive? What kind do you have? Presumably this cam is all that's needed but it says does not operate with vehicle is off: https://nicebyd.com/products/byd-oem-dash-cam-for-byd-sealion-7-australian?variant=52384983154995

everyone that has it working reliably, has it working over the usb c slot, this was a long trial/error for multiple people in the sealion 7 facebook group doesn't matter, any usb c flash drive or usb c to micro sd adapter works, anything with over 10mb/s of write speed is plenty

hybroid 2025-12-07 09:47

Thank you, will give the above unit a try.
