Me too Optimus. Me too.

casino_r0yale 2025-12-06 22:51

Most human response I’ve seen out of this thing

🤣🤣🤣

a9udn9u 2025-12-06 23:00

Or a rest

WockySlushie 2025-12-06 23:03

The ease in which that thing crushed a water bottle is mildly concerning. It does make me question how safe they are to stand around.

braunyakka 2025-12-06 23:04

First time it's not been remote controlled, or a man in a suit.

dallatorretdu 2025-12-06 23:10

Optimus when he finds out it was created to work and not to just dance and run around at parties.

Zyrinj 2025-12-06 23:11

Seriously, never been more hopeful lol

Confident-Sector2660 2025-12-06 23:13

Damn that's so funny how it falls

delabay 2025-12-06 23:16

considering the wide range of humanoid robots videos, the optimus demos are frankly extremely unimpressive, and I say this as a big fan :-/

Rare_Polnareff 2025-12-06 23:22

Bro crashed out

4Sillylilly 2025-12-06 23:31

Lol, you can tell the dude controlling it took off the headset and i guess it rendered the bot useless so it just went limp. Interesting how it locked out its legs instead of actually going limp tough

IndependenceNo783 2025-12-06 23:32

Well you can see it was remote controlled and the operator grabbed his VR headset and lifted it off his head, turning off the remote. The bot was already off balance at that point.

nazachris1 2025-12-06 23:35

Looks like the operator took off their VR headset

crazy_goat 2025-12-06 23:37

Died of embarrassment

corriedotdev 2025-12-06 23:39

Honestly looks like the dude teleworking this bad boy took off his headset. Update: Someone posted just now https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/s/ew6xsDoVgS

ZephRyder 2025-12-06 23:40

The cylinder must not be damaged!

gamertuts 2025-12-06 23:54

I guess it's nice to see it isn't all staged fake videos. Like good to see it makes these stupid mistakes as well

sim16 2025-12-06 23:54

Not ready for media release, not ready for sale. Kinda like chat gpt.

FuturePrimitiv3 2025-12-06 23:56

This was definitely remote controlled, you can literally see the "robot's" operator removing their VR headset right before it crashes out.

Maconi 2025-12-07 00:17

When are these things going to be able to function without remote operators? All these various robotic companies are acting like they’re a year away from selling to consumers when the robots can’t do anything without a human controlling them (or preprogramming a very specific dance routine).

Witext 2025-12-07 00:19

I do wonder, I looked thru the video frame by frame & it actually doesn’t look like the spray is coming from the bottle that it punched It looks like it’s coming from the palm of the robot. But the robot doesn’t have hydraulics afaik so maybe I’m wrong. It’s just that the bottle that it hits, doesn’t seem bent or damaged as it falls off the table

a_hopeless_rmntic 2025-12-07 00:24

he might have drank one two many waters

Antal_Marius 2025-12-07 00:25

Even worse when you realize it's remotely controlled still.

RamboTrucker 2025-12-07 00:25

That’s exactly what happened

SteezinMcBreezin 2025-12-07 01:06

It’s definitely the water bottle it crushes. It falls off the table towards the robot and can’t be seen.

wdean13 2025-12-07 01:09

I think optimus needs a vaca --

SnooChickens6000 2025-12-07 01:11

I habe not seen a spurce for this video, and the account is new with 1 post only. I think this might be AI generated UPDATE: as of this morning i saw multiple trust worthy reports so this is not AI generated

Joatboy 2025-12-07 01:23

This is a legit worry for any medium/large robot, but especially ones that are expected to work alongside humans. They're heavy and the servos can produce a huge amount of force.

CuppaJoe11 2025-12-07 01:33

100% what happened lmao.

Maybe that's what separates humans from robots, our ability to delay/prevent existential crashouts?

dubie4x8 2025-12-07 02:11

Is this AI or do that actually happen lol

Geta211 2025-12-07 02:15

Every factory I’ve ever worked in his the robots behind fences where people can’t access cause they are deadly. Interesting to just have them out and about like this

SillyMilk7 2025-12-07 02:20

I can't believe no one had brought this up before. There was an event in miami, but this looks like they spiced up the video with Ai EDIT: according to Grok (excerpt): The clip shows a genuine mishap: the Optimus was being teleoperated (remotely controlled by a human via VR headset), and when the operator suddenly removed their headset without properly disconnecting or pausing control, the robot mimicked the motion (raising hands to its "head") and then lost balance and fell backward, crushing a water bottle in the process. Tesla has been open about using teleoperation for complex public demos while training toward full autonomy, similar to past events.

Omg. That’s is totally it.

Substantial_Chain718 2025-12-07 02:58

That is too funny.

I__G 2025-12-07 03:01

Finally a real humanoid robot 😂

Ok_Following3410 2025-12-07 03:02

Sad thing is it replaced a human and will continue to do so because we treat people in this country like shit.

The future is here

Rayzah2007 2025-12-07 03:12

Don’t worry. If their response is the same as when their auto pilot goes wonky and kills a family they will say something along the lines of “ sure, this one knocked all the water bottles over yes however, think about how many people drown each year. This means that this was definitely worth it.”

Easy_Difficulty_7656 2025-12-07 03:13

Tesla sucks

dobrianhr 2025-12-07 03:46

😂

Pavores 2025-12-07 04:01

Yeah exactly, and Optimus is basically worthless without fully functional software. At least Tesla cars with FSD are still functional cars while FSD remains helpful but not autonomous. I do wonder if Optimus is being developed for industrial use primarily. It might serve as a halfway between bespoke pre-programmed robots (high capex, high efficiency, little flexibility) and people (low capex, low efficiency, very flexible). An Optimus bot might need to be trained on an activity like bolting a part on without needing human help, but then the bot could be reused if the line needs different tasks? That'd require extensive training on each reconfigure, but might have it's uses.

I wonder if and hope that the person controlling it is OK. I mean, what if they were having a medical issue?

Teslaphiles as beta testers for Optimus. Great prospect.

Mundane_Engineer_550 2025-12-07 06:18

L0rdLogan 2025-12-07 06:18

Adventurous-Ease-259 2025-12-07 10:18

I mean…. Could still be awesome if cheap enough. Could use human controlled robots to dig holes in areas heavy equipment doesn’t fit, fix roofs, etc.

PhomacD 2025-12-07 10:44

Thank God I'm not the only one.. is reddit filled with idiots? Or did Elon somehow take over the media and bury this story.. I know the likely answer, but I don't like to assume on an entire group of people..

PhomacD 2025-12-07 10:45

Hey!!! This is actually the second comment I found claiming it is. At least a few people do research on reddit!

PhomacD 2025-12-07 10:52

Everyone knows this. By everyone, I mean the 5 or so people that do research on Reddit. How many shares do you own?

theBandicoot96 2025-12-07 10:59

Show a video that looks "real enough" to people that already think a certain way, and they won't even think to question if it is real.

AccurateActuary9259 2025-12-07 12:23

Looks like Optimus said I don’t want to do this anymore “I QUIT” lol

TheMartian2k14 2025-12-07 12:25

Shouldn’t have redeemed.

TheMartian2k14 2025-12-07 12:27

But the robots are humanoid or in other form factors?

un-realestate 2025-12-07 13:05

If Optimus was unscrewing the caps before handing them out, it’s possible they were opened and slightly unscrewed already to make it easier.

Geta211 2025-12-07 14:58

Does it matter? They are autonomous things that can seriously hurt people regardless of form factor

Llee00 2025-12-07 15:02

psy_lent 2025-12-07 15:28

Nothing in this video looks like AI.... The lighting and shadows on those waterbottles are perfect as they get knocked around. The physics and bottle details as they're flying around seems perfect too.

delabay 2025-12-07 15:55

That assumes there's a robot out there worth scaling up I'm pretty bearish on all robots tbh. Feels like self driving in 2015, peak tech demo era. Would take another decade for products to enter the market.

JAWilkerson3rd 2025-12-07 16:05

Shouldn’t this be labeled Ai?!

sleepingin 2025-12-07 18:09

Sure, I can Google that for you. Here's a quick summary: Several incidents involve a Tesla hitting a firetruck, most notably a fatal 2023 crash in Walnut Creek, CA, where a Tesla on Autopilot struck a parked fire engine, killing the driver and injuring firefighters, leading to a federal investigation into Tesla's automated driving systems. Another 2018 event in Utah saw a driver admit to using Autopilot while distracted by their phone, hitting a fire truck, while a 2019 Culver City crash also involved Autopilot and a firetruck, highlighting recurring concerns about these systems and emergency vehicles. **Key Incidents & Findings:** **Walnut Creek, CA (Feb 2023):** A Tesla, suspected to be on Autopilot, hit a fire truck shielding first responders from a previous accident, resulting in the Tesla driver's death and injuries to the driver, passenger, and firefighters. **Culver City, CA (Jan 2018):** A Tesla on Autopilot crashed into a parked firetruck; the driver was found not to have his hands on the wheel, prompting NTSB scrutiny. **Utah (May 2018):** A driver using Autopilot admitted to looking at her phone when her Tesla struck a Utah fire truck, emphasizing the need for driver attentiveness. **Federal Investigations**: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) (NHTSA) has launched investigations into these crashes, focusing on how Tesla's Autopilot and Full Self-Driving (FSD) systems detect and respond to emergency vehicles. **Tesla's Stance:** Tesla states that its automated systems are advanced driver-assist features, not fully autonomous, and require constant driver supervision and readiness to intervene, despite the systems' names. **Common Themes:** **Autopilot/FSD Use:** In many incidents, the vehicles were operating with automated driving features engaged. **Driver Distraction:** Drivers in some cases admitted to being distracted by phones or not paying attention. **Emergency Vehicle Detection: **These crashes highlight challenges for automated systems in recognizing parked emergency vehicles with flashing lights, leading to broader federal investigations.

3minutesofregret 2025-12-07 18:35

Autopilot is not FSD. They’re two separate things entirely; all your sources are mentioning AP. AP is equivalent to adaptive cruise control in most other vehicles. Also glad you just copied and pasted what Gemini spat out.

AllNoise-NoSignal 2025-12-07 18:42

TheBowerbird 2025-12-07 19:12

They are other form factors, specifically the huge arms and the arms are moving around extremely heavy objects. His comparison isn't remotely valid.

TheMartian2k14 2025-12-07 21:06

Uhh… yea. A standing, balancing humanoid bit isn’t going to generate the same power a planted, robotic arm. Can a humanoid bot hurt you? Sure, but ones that exist today and handle extremely minor manufacturing jobs don’t.

Joatboy 2025-12-07 22:00

That's not true at all. What happens if the robot trips and falls onto someone? Or just runs into someone? Like, would you challenge Optimus to an arm wrestling match?

EitherCharacter9342 2025-12-07 23:18

lol

rufusbot 2025-12-07 23:59

Way too relatable

TheMartian2k14 2025-12-08 00:27

Then it would be like if a lightweight person did? It’s 125lbs for gods sake. Its carrying capacity is 40lbs, I would crush it in an arm wrestle. You serious? These aren’t terminators. These robots do not need to be fenced off in a manufacturing plant.

Geta211 2025-12-08 01:22

Have you seen the stuff Boston Dynamics is making? I mean we are here. Just cause no one has been killed by a Waymo or an Optimus yet doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t be asking questions about the safety of these things

TheMartian2k14 2025-12-08 01:53

Yes I have. Humanoid robots are not going to need to be ultra strong. Specialized formfactors will be more effective. Humanoid bots are going to need to be precise and lightweight. Carrying laundry, washing dishes, cooking, etc.

bremidon 2025-12-08 06:49

By all means: ask questions. Just learn how to accept the answers.

rajrdajr 2025-12-08 06:51

Rethink Robotics solved this by using compliant mechanisms. If they run into something, the mechanism flexes instead of crushing.

rajrdajr 2025-12-08 06:52

Humanoid robots can be around people without a fence for the same reason we don't have guys with flags and bright vests standing behind every car backing up in a parking lot. Humanoid robots are not industrial equipment, much like passenger vehicles are not construction vehicles.

Taziar43 2025-12-08 22:59

No, it is a product still in development.

Shrekier1959 2025-12-08 23:20

Just like the rest of musk's crap, falling or blowing up or killing someone in self driving vehicals

Cannabrius_Rex 2025-12-09 00:15

A product still in development orders of magnitude behind the competition with zero chance of catching up and being competitive. Aka. A gimmick

Popular_Floor5041 2025-12-09 00:50

To be honest, I think that is the most human behaviour I have seen any of them make.

[deleted] 2025-12-09 01:10

Musk engineers are sick of his shit, they are done with the circus that is Elon Musk. Always lying and always wanting to take the spotlight for their work.

[deleted] 2025-12-09 01:12

For these kind of failures. AMEN lets keep AI in the hopes and dreams tanks another 10 years at least

[deleted] 2025-12-09 01:14

It simply followed the headset and fell as he removed it off from the back of his head. Musk is a lying sack of shit that has never created anything he said he would. He bought working technology since he came here with his dads millions illegally.

[deleted] 2025-12-09 01:16

You are kidding right that SHIT show that is FSD has been a running joke for a almost a decade.

danhoyle 2025-12-09 01:27

Ah the stress of manual labor. Finally hitting AI brain they were created just to move tiny bottles of water.

Unique-Nectarine6031 2025-12-09 02:08

Well.. you would be upset if you just found out your father was Elon musk!

Unique-Nectarine6031 2025-12-09 02:10

That guy's lucky that thing didn't turn and sucker punch it's metallic fist Thur his face! #muthafukinrobots #weallgotdeadhomies

Unique-Nectarine6031 2025-12-09 02:12

It's last fuk you was spraying the handler with water.

SenseiS222 2025-12-09 03:00

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

borsTHEbarbarian 2025-12-09 03:15

I'm sure it's being supervised a lot like FSD. Yea, the experimental robot has someone supervising it.  I should hope so.

Born-Gur-1275 2025-12-09 03:32

Musk over promises again. Obviousle tele-op

JulesRules888 2025-12-09 03:41

That was funny thread.  But you couldn’t live with people sharing some joy over a creepy billionaire jerk revealing his work is more sales hack than successful delivery of promises.  The cost is just a shred of a sense of humor. People would notice. In a good way.

Onikonokage 2025-12-09 04:06

This is my new favorite video. Sums up how I feel about Musk running Tesla.

KhameneiSmells 2025-12-09 04:07

Also the fact that it is 3 second long clip is a dead giveaway that this is fake Ai generated.

KhameneiSmells 2025-12-09 04:10

Nah you are in denial.

KhameneiSmells 2025-12-09 04:11

This is AI. As the bot's left hand (on our right) comes down onto a water bottle, the water bottle shifts far to the side and water sprays out of its hand. That part is wrong and secondly, it would take a decent amount of force to break a bottle in that manner. The same hand (going up) contacts a bottle on the bottom, launching it nearly a foot into the air. That is highly unlikely to occur.

John-PA 2025-12-09 05:00

Don’t drink too much kids, even if you’re a bot! 😎

Ok_Pipe_4807 2025-12-09 05:20

worthless, nonsense.. maybe in 100 years.

Ok_Pipe_4807 2025-12-09 05:21

.. the guy from india on the other line lost it apparently

Tufanspros 2025-12-09 05:24

he just gave up 😭

jcdenton45 2025-12-09 05:33

He was just re-enacting [this](https://media1.tenor.com/m/ft4iWl1jEUQAAAAd/robocop2-rip-off-head.gif)

Marketing-with-Amani 2025-12-09 08:04

QuantumProtector 2025-12-09 10:18

AI?

[deleted] 2025-12-09 11:06

Because it is human  The VR operator took off his headset

cglogan 2025-12-09 13:48

What a spectacular scam. Reminds me of the wizard of oz

Objective_Mousse7216 2025-12-09 14:09

Sums up Musk and his snake oil tech perfectly.

ToketoTolkien 2025-12-09 14:45

No, it’s not, it’s real. Why do you want it to be fake? That is the question I wanna ask you.

metroidology 2025-12-09 16:35

I'm curious to see the full video, I want to see how people reacted lol

Peteybells 2025-12-09 18:46

Same 🤣🤣🤣

Environmental-Ad8965 2025-12-09 19:50

Think the VR operator passed out? Took off his headset right as he crashed out.

[deleted] 2025-12-09 19:54

Worth $20 trillion

EKingIII 2025-12-09 20:58

Right, instead of a bottle that’s someone’s hand…

AndIHaveMilesToGo 2025-12-09 21:15

It doesn't take a humanoid VR controlled robot to dig a hole too small for an excavator...

SenseiHumour 2025-12-09 22:03

Tesla is taking Facebook to another level with these iRobots (Will Smith movie reference). iykyk

Dull-Pension-6971 2025-12-09 22:31

They will “finish” this bots like the autopilot… customers still waiting for it🤣🤣🤣

Adventurous-Ease-259 2025-12-10 00:04

It doesn’t, but if it’s cheap enough I can buy one instead of a trencher, etc. as it could use my regular shovel while I do whatever else I want to do that day and not have to hire someone. It could also go on my crawl space and do whatever shit I don’t want to do down there like fix a leaky pipe without having to wait for the plumber to show up. Just get the bot out of the garage/shed and have it remote operated by a trained, but cheaper international plumber. It could do any number of things remotely operated if it’s cheap enough. It wouldn’t be limited to just digging holes.

No_Forever4645 2025-12-10 02:47

Hell yes it matters!! Factory robots aren't wandering around your house, which is what musk is pushing.

No_Forever4645 2025-12-10 02:53

Well.... that and generate content, obviously!

pantone7481 2025-12-10 08:06

I'd love to know how a team that's so smart, that it can create a robot that can operate remotely via a VR, can be dumb enough not to ensure the robot doesnt fall over during a demo?

xcalibur2k 2025-12-10 10:41

Obviously the tele operator taking off VR headset.

Crafty-Astronaut3789 2025-12-10 13:19

agreed!

thelost2010 2025-12-10 14:50

lol claiming ai is controlling the robot while people can see it mimicking the operator taking off the headset.

thelost2010 2025-12-10 14:51

And the gryo flipped back which caused it to lean too dad back. Another Elon lie exposed. He claimed there’s no tele but clearly there is. Couldn’t be more clear evidence

thelost2010 2025-12-10 14:51

Elon claims they aren’t but they very clearly are

Regi_Playzz 2025-12-10 16:15

Reasonable crashout, I'd do the same if a stranger approved me in public.

Low_Bandicoot3507 2025-12-10 23:13

nope, not AI. The robots are just shit

KhameneiSmells 2025-12-10 23:23

Won’t age well

Strong_Violinist_820 2025-12-11 00:08

When you find out that Elon is your father.

[deleted] 2025-12-11 00:25

I will never understand how ANYONE could invest in Tesla after what we've seen from Elon over the past 2 or 3 years. His incompetence is simply overwhelming.

Worldly_Letterhead_4 2025-12-11 01:54

Why he gotta be Indian lmao

[deleted] 2025-12-11 02:01

It’s using AI. An Actual Indian.

Worldly_Letterhead_4 2025-12-11 02:01

Lool

LG3nSD 2025-12-11 08:19

All these robots falling over reminds me of the Ironman 2 Senate hearing scene.

HarkonXX 2025-12-11 09:31

I'm going to the same event here in spain on saturday morning, hope that it fails same way, so funny xD

Desperate-Mix-8892 2025-12-11 11:36

> launching it nearly a foot into the air. a foot in the air? 30 cm? these bottles are maybe 15cm high... > it would take a decent amount of force to break a bottle in that manner.  no, not really, these bottles are propably the thinnest plastic it doesnt take much force to break them

joecbkb 2025-12-11 17:06

That’s how Elon rolls! rich boy does whatever the hell he wants, damn the rules and damn the repercussions.

madymadme 2025-12-12 10:19

AI wanna fall out :)

[deleted] 2025-12-15 07:42

This is hugely incorrect, and I say this as NOT a fan.

Alternative_Swim_807 2025-12-15 23:29

PC load letter…

MiserableAd9757 2026-01-05 17:48

yes why do you want this to be AI so badly? it’s obviously not AI, so why are you invested in it being AI? are you a fan of elon musk or own tesla stock or something? that’s the only reasons i can figure. gotta be something. or you wouldn’t be making this up for no reason.

Enlighte_Zi 2026-01-09 16:37

He was so scared enough from the mistake he made to faint 😆 🤣

andres19881 2026-02-05 02:56
