Me too Optimus. Me too.
Most human response I’ve seen out of this thing
🤣🤣🤣
Or a rest
The ease in which that thing crushed a water bottle is mildly concerning. It does make me question how safe they are to stand around.
First time it's not been remote controlled, or a man in a suit.
Optimus when he finds out it was created to work and not to just dance and run around at parties.
Seriously, never been more hopeful lol
Damn that's so funny how it falls
considering the wide range of humanoid robots videos, the optimus demos are frankly extremely unimpressive, and I say this as a big fan :-/
Bro crashed out
Lol, you can tell the dude controlling it took off the headset and i guess it rendered the bot useless so it just went limp. Interesting how it locked out its legs instead of actually going limp tough
Well you can see it was remote controlled and the operator grabbed his VR headset and lifted it off his head, turning off the remote. The bot was already off balance at that point.
Looks like the operator took off their VR headset
Died of embarrassment
Honestly looks like the dude teleworking this bad boy took off his headset. Update: Someone posted just now https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/s/ew6xsDoVgS
The cylinder must not be damaged!
I guess it's nice to see it isn't all staged fake videos. Like good to see it makes these stupid mistakes as well
Not ready for media release, not ready for sale. Kinda like chat gpt.
This was definitely remote controlled, you can literally see the "robot's" operator removing their VR headset right before it crashes out.
"What's my purpose?" "You hand out water" "OMG"
Even the flinch to look up when you pull off the glass. Damn good motion capture technology. Big upgrade over george bluths surrogate. https://x.com/max_olson/status/1316516330175107073/photo/1
Trained on liberal baristas
George Bluth is that you?
When are these things going to be able to function without remote operators? All these various robotic companies are acting like they’re a year away from selling to consumers when the robots can’t do anything without a human controlling them (or preprogramming a very specific dance routine).
I do wonder, I looked thru the video frame by frame & it actually doesn’t look like the spray is coming from the bottle that it punched It looks like it’s coming from the palm of the robot. But the robot doesn’t have hydraulics afaik so maybe I’m wrong. It’s just that the bottle that it hits, doesn’t seem bent or damaged as it falls off the table
he might have drank one two many waters
Even worse when you realize it's remotely controlled still.
That’s exactly what happened
Is this the crash out mode
Average human interaction
This is AI
Bro fell asleep
Awww poor him
[deleted]
Lmao I busted out laughing to the video, robot is sick of this shit 😂
A veritable wastrel.
Yup
Wow you’re right that’s exactly what happened
Nailed it
It’s definitely the water bottle it crushes. It falls off the table towards the robot and can’t be seen.
Get the curtain!
I think optimus needs a vaca --
I habe not seen a spurce for this video, and the account is new with 1 post only. I think this might be AI generated UPDATE: as of this morning i saw multiple trust worthy reports so this is not AI generated
This is a legit worry for any medium/large robot, but especially ones that are expected to work alongside humans. They're heavy and the servos can produce a huge amount of force.
100% what happened lmao.
The Actual Indian got frustrated and ragequit.
And then you realize we’re almost a decade behind the coast to coast on Autopilot forecast.
The robots are going to take over! Probably not for a while....
The entire team is sidetracked adding rockets to the Roadster 2.0
Lol. I just looked it up. That car was unveiled over 9 years ago. 😂
Maybe that's what separates humans from robots, our ability to delay/prevent existential crashouts?
Is this AI or do that actually happen lol
Every factory I’ve ever worked in his the robots behind fences where people can’t access cause they are deadly. Interesting to just have them out and about like this
I can't believe no one had brought this up before. There was an event in miami, but this looks like they spiced up the video with Ai EDIT: according to Grok (excerpt): The clip shows a genuine mishap: the Optimus was being teleoperated (remotely controlled by a human via VR headset), and when the operator suddenly removed their headset without properly disconnecting or pausing control, the robot mimicked the motion (raising hands to its "head") and then lost balance and fell backward, crushing a water bottle in the process. Tesla has been open about using teleoperation for complex public demos while training toward full autonomy, similar to past events.
Me going to a club ordering shots and thinking I’m 20 again
[deleted]
the future is uh now or something maybe a little later
It was a human…
They're using tele-operation at an event called "autonomy visualized"? interesting choice
Omg. That’s is totally it.
That is too funny.
Finally a real humanoid robot 😂
Sad thing is it replaced a human and will continue to do so because we treat people in this country like shit.
The future is here
Don’t worry. If their response is the same as when their auto pilot goes wonky and kills a family they will say something along the lines of “ sure, this one knocked all the water bottles over yes however, think about how many people drown each year. This means that this was definitely worth it.”
Everyone thinks this shit is so funny, but they are getting better with every fall. They will remember our laughter when they are fastening us into our Mateix pods
Bro had a panic attack
This is a very human DFO.
Tesla sucks
😂
Yeah exactly, and Optimus is basically worthless without fully functional software. At least Tesla cars with FSD are still functional cars while FSD remains helpful but not autonomous. I do wonder if Optimus is being developed for industrial use primarily. It might serve as a halfway between bespoke pre-programmed robots (high capex, high efficiency, little flexibility) and people (low capex, low efficiency, very flexible). An Optimus bot might need to be trained on an activity like bolting a part on without needing human help, but then the bot could be reused if the line needs different tasks? That'd require extensive training on each reconfigure, but might have it's uses.
Welcome to the club pal
Tesla is a joke
Pulled an Elon and had a child-like fit
Me too buddy. Me too.
It's basically people at this point!
“User has exited”
Honestly, I envy the little butter robot. We should all be so lucky as to have such clearly defined purposes. I'd get *so fucking good* at passing butter.
I wonder if and hope that the person controlling it is OK. I mean, what if they were having a medical issue?
Teslaphiles as beta testers for Optimus. Great prospect.
There is no operator it's done 100% by itself...
Little bit surprised it doesn't have any form of autonomy
Valid crash out
lol
Not surprising, given how FSD has run people into parked firetrucks at full bore. Prod is dev
Can’t wait to see Atrioc feature this on his next MM
Nah.
*windows shutdown sound*
Operator needs an update 🤣
/s... Right?
He has just gotten the update and needed ro reboot in order for it to take effect 😉
We’ve all been there!
I mean…. Could still be awesome if cheap enough. Could use human controlled robots to dig holes in areas heavy equipment doesn’t fit, fix roofs, etc.
Thank God I'm not the only one.. is reddit filled with idiots? Or did Elon somehow take over the media and bury this story.. I know the likely answer, but I don't like to assume on an entire group of people..
Hey!!! This is actually the second comment I found claiming it is. At least a few people do research on reddit!
Everyone knows this. By everyone, I mean the 5 or so people that do research on Reddit. How many shares do you own?
Show a video that looks "real enough" to people that already think a certain way, and they won't even think to question if it is real.
Looks like Optimus said I don’t want to do this anymore “I QUIT” lol
Shouldn’t have redeemed.
But the robots are humanoid or in other form factors?
If Optimus was unscrewing the caps before handing them out, it’s possible they were opened and slightly unscrewed already to make it easier.
Does it matter? They are autonomous things that can seriously hurt people regardless of form factor
We've lost to China
Only Tesla has the incredible hand dexterity and ability to scale more than the others though.
Valid crashout
Nothing in this video looks like AI.... The lighting and shadows on those waterbottles are perfect as they get knocked around. The physics and bottle details as they're flying around seems perfect too.
That assumes there's a robot out there worth scaling up I'm pretty bearish on all robots tbh. Feels like self driving in 2015, peak tech demo era. Would take another decade for products to enter the market.
Shouldn’t this be labeled Ai?!
Usually how I act after losing at beer pong
Oh no we’re taking the robot’s jobs!
Elon transforming from Stark to Justin Hammer
Source? Expecting to see an AutoPilot story here. FWIW AP != FSD
Asimov's fourth law of robotics.
Visualized != Actualized
Enron Musk forgot to have a person control this one remotely like the other ones.
Show them what the want to see and they will die on that hill
Sure, I can Google that for you. Here's a quick summary: Several incidents involve a Tesla hitting a firetruck, most notably a fatal 2023 crash in Walnut Creek, CA, where a Tesla on Autopilot struck a parked fire engine, killing the driver and injuring firefighters, leading to a federal investigation into Tesla's automated driving systems. Another 2018 event in Utah saw a driver admit to using Autopilot while distracted by their phone, hitting a fire truck, while a 2019 Culver City crash also involved Autopilot and a firetruck, highlighting recurring concerns about these systems and emergency vehicles. **Key Incidents & Findings:** **Walnut Creek, CA (Feb 2023):** A Tesla, suspected to be on Autopilot, hit a fire truck shielding first responders from a previous accident, resulting in the Tesla driver's death and injuries to the driver, passenger, and firefighters. **Culver City, CA (Jan 2018):** A Tesla on Autopilot crashed into a parked firetruck; the driver was found not to have his hands on the wheel, prompting NTSB scrutiny. **Utah (May 2018):** A driver using Autopilot admitted to looking at her phone when her Tesla struck a Utah fire truck, emphasizing the need for driver attentiveness. **Federal Investigations**: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) (NHTSA) has launched investigations into these crashes, focusing on how Tesla's Autopilot and Full Self-Driving (FSD) systems detect and respond to emergency vehicles. **Tesla's Stance:** Tesla states that its automated systems are advanced driver-assist features, not fully autonomous, and require constant driver supervision and readiness to intervene, despite the systems' names. **Common Themes:** **Autopilot/FSD Use:** In many incidents, the vehicles were operating with automated driving features engaged. **Driver Distraction:** Drivers in some cases admitted to being distracted by phones or not paying attention. **Emergency Vehicle Detection: **These crashes highlight challenges for automated systems in recognizing parked emergency vehicles with flashing lights, leading to broader federal investigations.
Autopilot is not FSD. They’re two separate things entirely; all your sources are mentioning AP. AP is equivalent to adaptive cruise control in most other vehicles. Also glad you just copied and pasted what Gemini spat out.
Yeah, picture a pet or small child standing behind that thing when it falls. No bueno!
That’s just Gen Alpha with any minor inconveniences
Looks like he’s in a medical condition.👀 aneurysm, stroke, seizure.
Who called the cops on him? He put his hands up!🤣🤣
Read my comment again. AP != FSD
They are other form factors, specifically the huge arms and the arms are moving around extremely heavy objects. His comparison isn't remotely valid.
Why doesn't it kick its CEO like the Chinese robot did?
The person behind the Robot seems fatigued
Love how it just totally gives up
That bit in Robocop 2
Ran out of tokens
Calls on monday it is.
You nailed it! The motion is exactly like that!
Teleworker rage quit 😂
Uhh… yea. A standing, balancing humanoid bit isn’t going to generate the same power a planted, robotic arm. Can a humanoid bot hurt you? Sure, but ones that exist today and handle extremely minor manufacturing jobs don’t.
That's not true at all. What happens if the robot trips and falls onto someone? Or just runs into someone? Like, would you challenge Optimus to an arm wrestling match?
lol
Way too relatable
Then it would be like if a lightweight person did? It’s 125lbs for gods sake. Its carrying capacity is 40lbs, I would crush it in an arm wrestle. You serious? These aren’t terminators. These robots do not need to be fenced off in a manufacturing plant.
Have you seen the stuff Boston Dynamics is making? I mean we are here. Just cause no one has been killed by a Waymo or an Optimus yet doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t be asking questions about the safety of these things
Yes I have. Humanoid robots are not going to need to be ultra strong. Specialized formfactors will be more effective. Humanoid bots are going to need to be precise and lightweight. Carrying laundry, washing dishes, cooking, etc.
By all means: ask questions. Just learn how to accept the answers.
Rethink Robotics solved this by using compliant mechanisms. If they run into something, the mechanism flexes instead of crushing.
The operator dropped something in their lap (hot coffee?), tried to grab it, then took off their VR headset.
Ooooohhhhhh
So why do we need this IDK $20k robot to hand out water people can just pick up off the table?
You realize that Asimov wrote science fiction and that there's no such thing as laws of robotics 🙀😜
Could this video be made with AI?
Valid crashout
He fainted because he made a mistake and knows elon musk is going to fire him now.
The operator had a cup of coffee in his hands while still having the hand controllers/trackers equipped. Coffee Cup fell out of his hands (you can see that the operator wanted to grab the cup but failed). Then the operator took off the VR headset and put it down.
"CONNECTING TO DILLINGER GRID... Connection failed"
Soooo instead of being autonomus, it had a user that removed the VR headset and shut it off...
Looks like someone removing their VR headset to me.
HAA! Yes.
Soylent Green is people!
Right???
Honestly, anyone can write a "law of robotics". It's about as binding as the laws in the US right now.
No, he wrote a protocol embedded in every robot soul.
Whooosh!
The irony is palpable
Apparently. The TEMU versions are cheaper and work better! Haha!
With a grip like that, this bad boy is going to be funding lots of wsb bad decisions behind Wendy's.
I knew optimis was never ready for mass production let alone operate on a autonomous state without human( remote control) interaction. Elon musk sold the world a pipe dream, & the crazy part is.... it fuckin worked....
could have been worse tbh... #robocop2 [https://i.redd.it/rv7pzgbusm5g1.gif](https://i.redd.it/rv7pzgbusm5g1.gif)
Go home, Tesla Optimus... you're drunk.
So Optimus got its model learning from my 2 year old.
No, i think what we are seeing here is that the Optimus robot tried to take off it's head before being terminated by musk... Here's a colorized version of historical records from inside Optimus development devision... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJIjNs_s2NI
In other words. Optimus is a gimmick.
Definitely a “ripped out of the matrix” sort of moment for Optimus.
"Not like this" fffwomp
at this point, Tesla stock is the product
Jeepers! This is scary as hell! Notice how that bottle of water exploded? Can you imagine that being someone's hand? No fucking way would I ever let one of these things near anyone ever under any circumstances. Severe injuries will occur.
Humanoid robots can be around people without a fence for the same reason we don't have guys with flags and bright vests standing behind every car backing up in a parking lot. Humanoid robots are not industrial equipment, much like passenger vehicles are not construction vehicles.
No, it is a product still in development.
Just like the rest of musk's crap, falling or blowing up or killing someone in self driving vehicals
A product still in development orders of magnitude behind the competition with zero chance of catching up and being competitive. Aka. A gimmick
To be honest, I think that is the most human behaviour I have seen any of them make.
Musk engineers are sick of his shit, they are done with the circus that is Elon Musk. Always lying and always wanting to take the spotlight for their work.
For these kind of failures. AMEN lets keep AI in the hopes and dreams tanks another 10 years at least
It simply followed the headset and fell as he removed it off from the back of his head. Musk is a lying sack of shit that has never created anything he said he would. He bought working technology since he came here with his dads millions illegally.
You are kidding right that SHIT show that is FSD has been a running joke for a almost a decade.
Ah the stress of manual labor. Finally hitting AI brain they were created just to move tiny bottles of water.
Well.. you would be upset if you just found out your father was Elon musk!
That guy's lucky that thing didn't turn and sucker punch it's metallic fist Thur his face! #muthafukinrobots #weallgotdeadhomies
It's last fuk you was spraying the handler with water.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'm sure it's being supervised a lot like FSD. Yea, the experimental robot has someone supervising it. I should hope so.
Musk over promises again. Obviousle tele-op
That was funny thread. But you couldn’t live with people sharing some joy over a creepy billionaire jerk revealing his work is more sales hack than successful delivery of promises. The cost is just a shred of a sense of humor. People would notice. In a good way.
This is my new favorite video. Sums up how I feel about Musk running Tesla.
Also the fact that it is 3 second long clip is a dead giveaway that this is fake Ai generated.
Nah you are in denial.
This is AI. As the bot's left hand (on our right) comes down onto a water bottle, the water bottle shifts far to the side and water sprays out of its hand. That part is wrong and secondly, it would take a decent amount of force to break a bottle in that manner. The same hand (going up) contacts a bottle on the bottom, launching it nearly a foot into the air. That is highly unlikely to occur.
Don’t drink too much kids, even if you’re a bot! 😎
worthless, nonsense.. maybe in 100 years.
.. the guy from india on the other line lost it apparently
he just gave up 😭
He was just re-enacting [this](https://media1.tenor.com/m/ft4iWl1jEUQAAAAd/robocop2-rip-off-head.gif)
Optimus needs further optimisation 🫣😂
Floptimus
AI?
Because it is human The VR operator took off his headset
What a spectacular scam. Reminds me of the wizard of oz
Sums up Musk and his snake oil tech perfectly.
No, it’s not, it’s real. Why do you want it to be fake? That is the question I wanna ask you.
I'm curious to see the full video, I want to see how people reacted lol
Same 🤣🤣🤣
Think the VR operator passed out? Took off his headset right as he crashed out.
Worth $20 trillion
Right, instead of a bottle that’s someone’s hand…
It doesn't take a humanoid VR controlled robot to dig a hole too small for an excavator...
Tesla is taking Facebook to another level with these iRobots (Will Smith movie reference). iykyk
They will “finish” this bots like the autopilot… customers still waiting for it🤣🤣🤣
It doesn’t, but if it’s cheap enough I can buy one instead of a trencher, etc. as it could use my regular shovel while I do whatever else I want to do that day and not have to hire someone. It could also go on my crawl space and do whatever shit I don’t want to do down there like fix a leaky pipe without having to wait for the plumber to show up. Just get the bot out of the garage/shed and have it remote operated by a trained, but cheaper international plumber. It could do any number of things remotely operated if it’s cheap enough. It wouldn’t be limited to just digging holes.
Hell yes it matters!! Factory robots aren't wandering around your house, which is what musk is pushing.
Well.... that and generate content, obviously!
I'd love to know how a team that's so smart, that it can create a robot that can operate remotely via a VR, can be dumb enough not to ensure the robot doesnt fall over during a demo?
Obviously the tele operator taking off VR headset.
agreed!
lol claiming ai is controlling the robot while people can see it mimicking the operator taking off the headset.
And the gryo flipped back which caused it to lean too dad back. Another Elon lie exposed. He claimed there’s no tele but clearly there is. Couldn’t be more clear evidence
Elon claims they aren’t but they very clearly are
Reasonable crashout, I'd do the same if a stranger approved me in public.
#howimfeelingnow
nope, not AI. The robots are just shit
Won’t age well
When you find out that Elon is your father.
I will never understand how ANYONE could invest in Tesla after what we've seen from Elon over the past 2 or 3 years. His incompetence is simply overwhelming.
Why he gotta be Indian lmao
It’s using AI. An Actual Indian.
Lool
All these robots falling over reminds me of the Ironman 2 Senate hearing scene.
I'm going to the same event here in spain on saturday morning, hope that it fails same way, so funny xD
> launching it nearly a foot into the air. a foot in the air? 30 cm? these bottles are maybe 15cm high... > it would take a decent amount of force to break a bottle in that manner. no, not really, these bottles are propably the thinnest plastic it doesnt take much force to break them
That’s how Elon rolls! rich boy does whatever the hell he wants, damn the rules and damn the repercussions.
AI wanna fall out :)
This is hugely incorrect, and I say this as NOT a fan.
lol get me out of the matrix
Puppet has brain spasm
optimus had seizure. did u call 0101
Harcourt Fenton Mudd, what have you been up to?!?
I got one 1 thing to say I robot 🤖
The Walton's Jon Boy dreamed of this one day
What was in that thread? It's been deleted
Was just someone who reposted this video and used my comment for the title
PC load letter…
yes why do you want this to be AI so badly? it’s obviously not AI, so why are you invested in it being AI? are you a fan of elon musk or own tesla stock or something? that’s the only reasons i can figure. gotta be something. or you wouldn’t be making this up for no reason.
He was so scared enough from the mistake he made to faint 😆 🤣
AI
LOL
