Remote Connect

Hello Everyone, I bought a new BYD Seal U last month (located in the Netherlands). The car itself is great, but I'm having persistent issues with the connectivity and account linking process. The Problem: Account Linking Delay Timeline: My dealer was supposed to send my details (email, VIN) to BYD to link my user account to the car. They promised this would be fixed within 2 working days. Current Status: It has now been 20 calendar days, and the linkage still hasn't been completed. Follow-Up: I have contacted my dealer 3 times already, and he confirmed he has resent my details to BYD each time. I currently have a BYD account but no remote connectivity. What I Expect/Need to Happen I am completely in the dark about the next step. Can anyone confirm what the final output of this linking process should be? Confirmation: Am I supposed to receive a confirmation email directly from BYD (Europe/Netherlands)? Car Features: Should this process automatically enable the remote connection in the BYD app and activate the car's 4G SIM card/connectivity? My Action (App): Is there any action I need to take in the BYD app myself (e.g., logging in, clearing cache, verifying email)? My Action (Car): Do I need to perform a reset of the car's entertainment system or infotainment screen to force an update or connection once the account is linked? Requested Advice Has anyone in the Netherlands or Europe successfully gone through this account linking process for a new BYD? What steps did you take? How long did the official process take? Did your dealer handle it, or did you contact BYD customer service directly? Any tips or insights are highly appreciated!

Different country and time, I'm in Australia and got in December 2023, had the account done pretty quickly but the Sim being activated took about 2 weeks. Once that happened then it was all just working. Didn't need to reboot or do anything, just one day was able to connect. If dealer is sure they linked your correct email that is, normally done with whatever one you provide during the sale.

The remote connecting feature is not exist in thr car at all, so scan qrcode not possible, i have to wait and asking my dealer after a week :( I tried to reach BYD directly and they said only way to achieve it by your dealer 😞

Hi. I ordered the Seal U DM-i in Belgium in September and took the delivery in October. I communicated my email ID to the dealership while placing the order, followed up in a couple of weeks before the delivery that they did the necessary with BYD for remote access and enabling the account. I scanned the QR code from the car infotainment screen on delivery and my account was linked immediately (which means everything was enabled in time by BYD). Before that, I was impatiently checking within the app if the features or anything else appeared as I read on Internet that some people were lucky and their car was already visible in the app before delivery, but it didn't for me. I had to scan the QR code, which is the normal approach. I don't recall receiving any email notification about the account linking or remote access. You don't need to perform any reset of the infotainment system, but checking with BYD Support from within the app might be useful.

For me, also in NL, it took about 5 or 6 weeks before it was activated. And as others already wrote: you don't have to reboot or reset or whatsoever. You will receive a popup on the screen at some moment. The funny part: I received the popup, 2 seconds before I stopped the engine. I realized too late and already turned off the car. So I was afraid that it was gone forever and the waiting would start all over again. But luckily, the notification was still there when I turned on the engine. 😅

Thats really helping, thanks for sharing , so could be a delay from negherland dealer, and once it is connected it will popup on my car screen. Cool lets give them 3 more weeks 😀

In Japan, my sim was already activated and connected to my email address before I got the car. It took a lot of self-restraint not to start playing around with it while it was still at the dealer.

Sounds it is more related to reguon amd dealer, I checked other comments from netherlands always delayed. It is strange as it should ve same process.

True. It is that they will have to forward the vehicle info and your email address to BYD. And my experience is that it isn't too much of a priority for them to do so. 😅 Wondering which dealer you're at and how your experience with the dealer is. I was in Utrecht, but for the next things I will go to Rotterdam..

Lol, I also got mine from Utrecht and I checked google review before i sign the offe but it was a very bad expirence for communication, it could be the agent who handled my case but anyway all my coming service i will go to louwman amsterdam.

Lol 😆 Well.. the name of the salesman starts with an R. (No need to mention his full name, not needed to punch him down that much 😉) But with some maintenance I had a very bad experience too, where they were trying to blame me for a fault which they made. Luckily I was able to prove in the end that it was their mistake, but it costed a lot of effort. So, not happy about their service. My colleague do have a BYD from Rotterdam and does have a very good experience with them. So... Utrecht won't see me back 😎

OMG, yes, this R got me crazy never answer my calls/text even emails worest salesman, he need to find somethong else he like to do. I need to reach out to someone else as i am sure he put a wrong email for me.

Yeah I didn't even need to do the QR code, once I saw data on Car Sim was active, just logged in via email. Possibly that's all changed now? Hope tou get it sorted.

😅 Maybe it is best for you to already contact Louwman and tell something about your bad experience and ask them if they can help you 😉
