Final Form Achieved (Full stealth productivity/gaming setup)

Alarmed-Stress2070 | 2025-10-04 22:37 | 166 views

Tesla has been my dream car for over a decade, and we finally bought a Model Y a few months ago. I had a cool little PS5 setup in my old Prius, but I wanted to go all out for the Model Y with a full PC stealth setup that you literally can’t tell exists without looking for it. Specs: HP Omen 16 Max (5080) Evoffer HDMI interface T-Mobile WiFi iPad Pro M1 (Remotemouse app acts as mouse and keyboard for PC) Ecoflow River 2 Pro (Hidden in sub trunk, powers entire setup) I cut holes in the trunk floor and added 2 120mm fans for ventilation since the Ecoflow and T-Mobile router can get warm, so that’s the only thing that doesn’t look OEM anywhere in the car. Everything else is completely hidden. I even spliced into the rear cigarette lighter and added one in the sub trunk to charge the Ecoflow so that there wasn’t a visible cable running down into it. Everything works perfectly, so I’m super happy. I’m happy to answer any questions.

Where do you live and how much do you charge? Fucking awesome

ken830 2025-10-05 02:03

Nice! We have an X with SteamOS but gaming in the car is a rare occasion.

Alarmed-Stress2070 2025-10-05 02:15

Lol. It’s actually very straightforward. Routing the wires is just a tedious, time consuming job.

Alarmed-Stress2070 2025-10-05 02:16

I wish they all came with that. How’s the latency and performance on most games?

MineJoystick 2025-10-05 02:30

Is this the EVOffer or OTBMods HDMI interface?

Interesting-Egg-8044 2025-10-05 02:46

Please drop or send tutorial!

hainesk 2025-10-05 02:57

I believe SteamOS runs locally, no internet required.

colsandersloveskfc 2025-10-05 03:13

Looks like the EV Offer one per the OP comment. I [made a video covering the install](https://youtu.be/-L3A0R8RQ3w?si=QFJroEfZS2PXy0w_) in my 24 MYP if it helps. I use it with my steam deck when super charging or sometimes during break from work. The install process is fairly straightforward and if you are comfortable removing the center console side panel (like if you are changing the air filter, and side of the dash trim you can install this.

colsandersloveskfc 2025-10-05 03:14

Nice work OP 👍

Alarmed-Stress2070 2025-10-05 03:25

It’s the Evoffer interface. Took about two weeks to get here (US) from China. I had a few issues installing and support was great. Highly recommend. I’m keeping my eye on the Teslogic interface since it has a few more features, but only if it ever comes out. You can grab a discount code from one of the videos that takes $50-$65 off of the Evoffer interface, which is nice.

Alarmed-Stress2070 2025-10-05 03:28

It is. I probably watched every single video on YouTube about HDMI interfaces before I chose Evoffer, and yours was a really good one that helped me pull the trigger.

Alarmed-Stress2070 2025-10-05 03:29

Thank you! I also added a usb hub to the center console today so now the PC can basically never be touched again.

colsandersloveskfc 2025-10-05 03:30

Oh man, that’s so nice to hear and is exactly why I make the videos to help folks see how DIY friendly many of the accessories actually are to install.

Alarmed-Stress2070 2025-10-05 03:36

They are. This Tesla is easier to work on/mod than basically any other car I’ve owned. I will say that working with the blue connector on the MCU was a PAIN. Especially since I don’t have small hands.

AltDelete 2025-10-05 05:21

You have a yoke in a model y?

ken830 2025-10-05 05:31

Performance is good with the little bit of testing I've done, but I haven't had the chance to load a very performance demanding game. Kind of too lazy to go out to the garage to test it and if I'm out and about, there's no opportunity to sit around in the car to load up a game.

hitma-n 2025-10-05 05:57

Is that Atreus inside the tree of Yggdrasil?

853246261911 2025-10-05 06:38

Where do you keep the laptop?

ken830 2025-10-05 07:44

No tutorial needed since SteamOS (Same as on the Steam Deck) is included natively on the refreshed S/X vehicles (I think only available on mid-2021-to-mid-2024 models) since those vehicles have "PS5-level" processing performance.

HypnotizedGenius 2025-10-05 13:35

How do you connect your pc to the car screen?

Alarmed-Stress2070 2025-10-05 13:36

Haha, yes it is. I’m FINALLY getting around to playing.

Alarmed-Stress2070 2025-10-05 13:37

Under the passenger seat on a cooling pad. I may not even need the pad because this AMD Omen runs cool. The highest I’ve seen the temps so far are around 70 while gaming.

Alarmed-Stress2070 2025-10-05 13:42

The Evoffer HDMI interface connects to the display and MCU under the glovebox. (At least in my 2023 MY. Some other models and years have different areas you connect to.)You can plug anything that uses HDMI into it.

Suitable_Switch5242 2025-10-05 16:38

Yeah it’s so they can see the instrument cluster better.

853246261911 2025-10-05 17:14

How do you keep it in place? Could you take a picture of it, I've been meaning to find a place for my Steam Deck.

AltDelete 2025-10-05 17:41

Didn’t know it was an option

specter491 2025-10-05 18:18

What about cybertruck?

ken830 2025-10-05 18:19

AFAIK, nope.

Suitable_Switch5242 2025-10-05 18:39

It’s aftermarket, not an official option.

AltDelete 2025-10-05 18:43

Got it, thanks for responding

Snakend 2025-10-05 20:50

I think you were making a joke....can't tell.

Suitable_Switch5242 2025-10-05 20:52

Having an unobstructed view of the instrument cluster is the reason Tesla gave for doing the yoke wheel on the Model S and X. The Model Y doesn’t have an instrument cluster.

Snakend 2025-10-05 20:56

ok...you were making a joke!

jinniu 2025-10-05 21:15

I am guessing this voids warranty? I have been looking for something like this to use with my Steamdeck, but might wait for warranty to run out.

jinniu 2025-10-05 21:19

Have you noticed any video audio sync issues?

Alarmed-Stress2070 2025-10-05 21:45

No idea, but I would remove it if I ever needed any major warranty work done.

Alarmed-Stress2070 2025-10-05 21:49

I forgot to add in the post that I connect to laptop to a Sony Ult 3 that’s hidden behind the screen. Sounds great and the latency is barely noticeable, if at all.

jinniu 2025-10-05 21:51

I am guessing you didn't need to cut any wires then? I may just do this now, thanks!

jinniu 2025-10-05 21:52

Ah that makes sense, I was thinking I could just keep using my headphones connected to the SteamDeck but for movies and the whole family nothing beats the 16 speakers. I suppose the decks speakers for movies is enough though.

Alarmed-Stress2070 2025-10-05 22:02

None. It could probably be removed in about 10 minutes.

Alarmed-Stress2070 2025-10-05 22:31

I read that someone else connected a Bluetooth FM transmitter and got it working that way, but I chose the Ult 3 because it has multipoint and can connect to my iPad and Omen at the same time, meaning I never have to switch any inputs. You can also order an FM transmitter with the Evoffer interface, but I didn’t.

Alarmed-Stress2070 2025-10-06 01:54

https://imgur.com/a/qiiTmEu For now it just rests on the floor, but it has 3D printed brackets I can use to attach it under the seat if I decide to.

Japahahaha 2025-10-06 03:34

Dope

eser5 2025-10-06 05:55

I stream games into my CT using GeForceNow

Riker001-Ncc1701D 2025-10-06 09:43

Cant wait to do gaming when FSD doesn't have to be surpervised

jinniu 2025-10-06 10:31

I found a bluetooth audio transmitter that might work. It uses aptx or something, that should be better than the FM transmitter, when plugged into the decks USB, or other computer. The Tesla will pick it up like a phone's bluetooth.

MaxChomsky 2025-10-06 22:50

Only 60Hz? Unplayable.

Alarmed-Stress2070 2025-10-06 23:19

Lol, I know. I meant Peasant Mobile, not final form. Peasant Mobile achieved.

Alarmed-Stress2070 2025-10-06 23:19

GeForce Now and the browser? How’s the latency?

Alarmed-Stress2070 2025-10-06 23:20

I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to actually game while letting the car drive. I guess I still have my limits.

ikeepcomingbackhaha 2025-10-07 13:49

I have a mid 2021 model s and I don’t have steam

ken830 2025-10-07 16:23

It's a refreshed S? It should.

KuZagan 2025-10-08 00:06

The VERY early refreshed S and X did not have it, and then later down the road they removed the feature again after a few years. Kinda like how the refresh S and X don't all have screens that pivot

KuZagan 2025-10-08 00:06

Or were they making a yoke? Badumtss

ken830 2025-10-08 00:09

I see. Must be very few. Especially since the 2021 production ramp was very slow. The pivoting screens came much later so there are a LOT of cars without.

KuZagan 2025-10-08 01:07

Yeah it wasn't a lot. The funny thing about the screens is that if you go back further than they were officially available you still find some, the factory was apparently the wild west lol Source: worked in service for Tesla and one of our shop leads was actually at Fremont for the plaid and general refresh prototyping

ken830 2025-10-08 01:13

Yeah. Tesla operates a bit like a Silicon Valley startup... Good and bad.

Scrubcious 2025-10-09 15:48

200 ping

Alarmed-Stress2070 2025-10-09 19:29

0 ping.

edum18 2025-10-12 11:09

Very cool setup! So is that a custom installation of a hdmi interface on the screen?

Alarmed-Stress2070 2025-10-12 14:59

Yes, I installed the Evoffer HDMI interface. I really wanted to wait for the Teslogic Screenmate but they keep pushing the release date. I checked a few days ago and it’s now “Nov.” So far the Evoffer interface has worked flawlessly. The tablet is what I use for all of my media, YouTube, music, etc. It also just happens to work amazingly well as a wireless trackpad and keyboard for the laptop that’s plugged into the interface.

jinniu 2025-10-31 23:10

Just installed it yesterday with the MCU behind the center console. I bought a Creative Stand Air V2 soundbar for things like the switch and I have a ChatGPT generated guide to get the SteamDeck audio sent directly to the car sound system through bluetooth that I will test out soon. It should make a BT signal like the one on a phone does, with no latency. It could probably be done on Windows too.

Alarmed-Stress2070 2025-11-01 02:26

That’s awesome. If you get that working update us for sure. I’ve been more than happy with my Sony speaker hidden behind the display on the dash, but no latency through the car speakers would be optimal.
