Pretty sure those are just the little kid cyber trucks they sold for awhile
It’s the 2029 Tesla Vaporware Sport
It’s actually insane how dead this subreddit has become. Years ago people would’ve been speculating hard on this. This has to be one of greatest deteriorations of a brand of all time
Where Roadster?
Maybe we can speculate when they will move to 800v architecture and offer a HUD or soft close doors? Love my 22 M3P but man it and the Highland are starting to look shockingly dated next to the competition here in Europe.
Tbf everything has to be mod approved from what I have seen
Because Elon pivoted Tesla away from vehicles and toward AI/robotics. So there’s no hype for future Tesla vehicles anymore. Just small tweaks on what already exists.
It's more likely the fact that reddit is mostly full of people who dislike Elon Musk for political reasons. Outside of reddit, it is still an extremely popular automotive company.
People that appreciate Tesla left this platform, for obvious reasons. The conversation thrives elsewhere
What do you expect when more than half of the posts are? Ok guys I just bought one, here are my thoughts after owning it after 2 weeks. Or Its people hitting things with their eyes closed and blaming it on “FSD” 🙄
Cybercab was a pretty big jump. We are still waiting for the roadster to drop. They showed off the bus like autonomous vehicle… Let’s not mention all the cool tech in cybertruck that needs to come to the rest of the Tesla line-up. I want PowerShare in a normal car. That will get my next upgrade (hopefully with ai5 chip).
I imagine companies that made manual clothes washing machines pivoted away once the automated watching machines came out
Need to put down your 50k deposit to find out.

Yup
The fact that a Lucid Gravity will be able to charge faster via Tesla Superchargers than any Tesla should have some engineers working over time. But nothing significant has changed in the core lineup since the octovalve. Light bars! Double paned windows! Slightly more comfortable suspension! They definitely haven’t innovated on the engineering front in a while.
Lmfao that’s not what that is, regardless, they are not making even larger and more expensive vehicles.
The sub is the way it is because people are sick and tired of being harassed and trolled by assholes that make a reddit account just to come take a shit in this sub. No one is posting anymore because of this. After the whole crazy shit that happened in the past 10 to 12 months. Things have been down. I have seen this sub drop the most. The side subs are way more active. I do my best to post things that I see on X because all the other subs on reddit have blocked X. Those mods pretty much killed reddit by not allowing X posts. In the end, yeah, this sub has dropped off but it also has so many eyes on it. When a post gets posted. A post will get mass downvoted just because it's posted on this sub. If anyone wants to post and if anyone wants to bring content to this sub. Please reach out via modmail. I have something for you. A ton of users have left reddit and gone to X. X imo is such a better place to get news, reddit fall off so hard. Reddit is more of a support website. This is why Reddit has Reddit answers. All the core users that have gone to X are never going to come back to reddit. Mods from other subs force their ideas and vision onto you. I can't say much about this. If you look at the icons of some subs you'll understand what I mean by this.
Very true
This is true and has been this way for a very long time. People post some of the most trash stuff to this sub. This sub has always been about the company.
Kinda but not fully. You only see the surface level. There are tons of things being posted on X and that's where the change has happened. Tons of users have left Tesla reddit to go to X.
Sucks you are getting downvoted for the truth but this is what reddit has become.
Yes
This is correct, but wouldn't a cybervan be cool. It's all I've ever wanted.
If they make a cyber SUV, they'd really be missing the mark if they don't call it the Cyburban.
So you're just going to ignore the cars that do exist and keep moving the goalposts every time one of these comes out? There will always be upcoming cars.
Tesla is a fairly mature car company now. There's only so many new categories you can enter before exhausting all the popular options, and at that point you mainly just improve your existing cars. The next vector for serious innovation is obviously autonomous driving.
Keep in mind that Tesla has over a decade of experience in ensuring fast charging doesn't damage the batteries. I'd be curious to see how many of the recent 250kw+ charging vehicles end up expiring their batteries early as a result. There are plenty of stories of Teslas used for ride share, charged exclusively on superchargers with 200,000 or more miles on the original battery, and plenty of old stories trying to charge too quickly without proper warming/cooling causing early battery failure.
That’s not correct. [The Cybertruck for kids has a rear slope just like the actual truck.](https://shop.tesla.com/product/cybertruck-for-kids?sku=1985666-00-B)
[deleted]
Oh, just like Cybertruck? And Model Y before that? And Model 3 before that? Not real? Never gonna come out?
The person was talking about future vehicles so I listed the publicly discussed future vehicles. Cybercab has been shown and exists. Just not publicly available.
There are multiple pictures of cyber and being tested. They let people ride in cybercabs at the event.
[deleted]
Cybercab literally has a release date of next year.
Not after the Cybertruck sales slump.
lol you still won’t find out after putting it down

For ants?
For it to be a “slump” there had to be a point at which it was selling well. It’s a sales catastrophe.
Cybertrucks were everywhere in southern California last summer. Now I see maybe one a month. Everyone used to want to be seen with them, taking selfies with the cybertruck, and then Elon destroyed his own brand.
Did everyone want them? Musk predicted selling a quarter of a million of them a year. They sold 39,000 last year, and are on track to sell half that many this year. Wildly below expectations, even for the launch.
[deleted]
Really depressing that such an amazing design got politicized. All he had to do was let Kamala win and he would have sold millions! Also, as you say, the poor sales of the Cybertruck means that even the future similar models are probably doomed.
It was the best selling electric truck in the US for most of a year.
Where do you think those cars went lol? You think drivers sold them or leave them at home because they’re so disgraced by politics?
This sub in particular is overrun by haters. A few other Tesla subs have much more reasonable comments/discussions and not people waiting for their chance to tell everyone about their Elon feelings.
Your loss for caring too much about what strangers think. Meanwhile, owners are loving their vehicles, and couldn’t care less about what the crowd outside is mumbling about.
All I’ve ever really wanted since the Cybertruck unveiling in 2019 is the Tesla equivalent of a high-roof Sprinter. Two 360-degree swivel seats up front and 6 captain chairs in the back that are all removable to turn it into a cargo van or convert to a camper.
Omg did people actually pony up $1500 for that??
[deleted]
The only mentally ill people are the ones triggered by a vehicle. Reevaluate your circle rather than blame your issues on people doing actual work in this world.
I was just thinking I'm seeing a lot more of them on the road.
I agree
I believe that the Cybertruck isn't selling well not because of design, but because of cost. If the Cybertruck AWD was price at say $50K, you'll be surprised how fast those would sell.
In my opinion, the truck isn't doing well due to the price point, not because of politics.
[deleted]
As with anything Tesla, yes.
The cybersuv we never got. Since sales are nowhere near expected, I wonder if they'll change their mind and make another vehicle off the same platform.
Because of how heavy handed the moderation has been. Even a year or two ago, it was common to go a couple days between new top level posts.
The vast majority of those were the pre-orders being delivered, at which point they would be counted as sales. Once they were all delivered, not too many sales after that.
At one point they were selling for over double that price on eBay
Not really, having one car is easy category is barely scratching the surface. Go look at BMW or Toyota and see have many different models they have.
Oh I like this idea
Like the Rivian Amazon van?
And adding more seats and expanding the insulated passenger compartment would do what to the price?
All of the above. I know quite a few people that get angry at the sight of one
I mean you can like iterate and redesign like every other car company does instead of just reselling the same model S with a different bumper since 2012, but what do I know they might double yearly sales to 4 per year with this latest refresh!
By category I meant body style and size class. If you're just talking about body style, Tesla has two in each category. But yes, they certainly don't have as many options as others. They have everything covered in broad strokes, but yes it's true that they don't have a 185 inch SUV, a 190 inch SUV, a 195 inch SUV, etc. They're not that granular. And I don't think they need to be. I like the simplicity of their lineup. The only thing I might agree with is maybe they should have something in the 170 inch range (besides Cybercab).
What? They literally just had major refreshes for Model 3 and Model Y.
Your liking of simple doesn’t really matter. Tesla sales are decreasing and will so even more after the tax credit. One size fits all does not scale well and they need to attack new costumers. More options will be better for sales. If they sold a model 3 station wagon or hatchback I’d buy it in a heart beat
I don’t know the range on those but that’s definitely closer than any Tesla!
Is the major refresh in the room with us? Changing bumpers and adding ambient light ain’t exactly ground breaking
This is a really interesting catch!
It's in my garage right now, and it replaced my old one. Literally the entire interior of the car is new. Not one visible part stayed the same. And that's in addition to the new styling of the front and rear external design, the drastically better suspension, etc. Do I need to give you a full list of changes/additions? It will be long. But again, just the fact that literally the entire interior is new should tell you it's a major refresh. It's very disingenuous of you to pretend only two things changed.
They're barely decreasing, and that's after years of massive growth. But the point is I don't believe that adding a ton of granularity in size options will do much to increase sales. They already have the major categories covered, and people usually don't need something super specific in terms of size. But like I said, something in the 170 inch range could make sense. That is a pretty large category they're missing. Station wagons don't sell. If you were in charge of their lineup, they'd be bankrupt.
That's funny because they only sell two models now in most of the world.
Huh? They sell four models in most of the world.
Model s/x are no longer available in China and in Europe you can only order already built ones and not configure new ones. That is pretty much most of the world's car markets. Haven't looked into smaller markets to be honest.
They're still available. It seems they just aren't offering custom ordering right now. Probably an optimization for low volume, I would guess.
It’s like a mystery box
Looking at a car company like BMW (similar price segments as Tesla) and taking out the M ans other special models. The offer far more diverse cars. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, X1, X2, X3, X5, X7 and for the non X versions they have two with a wagon and two convertables as well. Not that such a high diversity is needed but currently Tesla has nothing in the 1 or X1 category and below which are very high volume.
No it definitely also includes the look of the car. I’m basically the only person out of my family and friends that would ow a cybertruck. Everyone else thinks they’re heinous
They have literally 2 cars that make up basically all their sales. There’s still many areas they can expand, like a legit 3 row SUV
Only 160 miles
I’d buy it if it looked better. Lovey wife’s Y. Need a truck. Won’t buy cybertruck. Currently in a Silverado rv. Don’t like it but it’ll get me by for now.
i would buy one
At the end of the recent Jay Leno video they address it vaguely. You can bet Leno is one of those reservation holders.
Don't let the media distract you into believing whatever they're spinning that week. Life is supposed to be fun and fulfilling - but when you give power away to others in how they may think, how they may feel, you end up on Reddit with the rest of the complainers instead of living your best life. The honest truth is everyone is too busy worrying about their own lives to give more than a couple of seconds worrying about others. They're also too busy to pay more than two seconds of attention to any headline and will usually just join a mob to feel like they belong to something. If you want to believe the narrative that the media spun about that one frame out of a whole speech, and center your entire life around that, it's your right to. I personally use my common sense to make my own decisions and if others feel butthurt by it, that's on them. I'm not going to dull my shine cause others may feel uncomfortable based off of campaigns created by other mentally ill people.
Well you DID have a bunch of terrorists attacking people driving teslas and defaming their vehicles. That COULD be the reason you don't see as many. Just a thought...
Right, they seem to small to be full-size prototypes.
My neighbor had one. Once the kids got sick of it, he actually sold it on market place for just over $2k
Timestamp?
Or Cyberhoe
Tbf you can buy a Tesla for *way* less than $60k
Someone's been lying to you
idk
I really hope they'd cut their losses on that wheeled urinal and try to recover some R&D into their actual sellers
The Cybertruck platform is incredible. You know they way that driving a non-Tesla car after getting used to a Tesla feels like a large step back in time? That's how the rest of the Tesla lineup feels like after driving the Cybertruck. The combination of the air suspension, steer-by-wire, spaciousness, sound system, screen resolution, ride height adjustments, massive lockable storage volume... just adds up to something much better than any of their other vehicles. Anyway, point is, it's a bummer than elon's politics have politicized the platform so much, because an SUV based on it would be great.
It’s definitely not selling as well as it could have. It’s not unreasonable to say the massively increased price, design and initial production quality turned a lot of people off. Myself and people I know that would have bought one didn’t by the time our preorders came up because of all those issues. Build quality is better, there is a very compromised but cheaper option, and they do have wraps to alleviate the all steel exterior, but all are still issues
Minivan
wtf does that even mean 😭 cy-burban ?
I'm guessing cyber and suburban
They really should be building a full-size three-row SUV to compete with the Lucid Gravity, Escalade IQ, etc. using the Cybertruck platform (800V, 48V, steer by wire, etc) to take up space capacity on the Cybertruck line which is currently very underutilized. I'm not sure using the stainless steel and Cybertruck styling is the right way to go though. Something slightly more distanced from that styling and brand might be better idea.
Because froth-mouthed Redditors frequent Tesla subs to try and shit on the brand. It's become less fun to post about it publicly when you have a bunch of crybaby losers who are offended because the media told them to be.
Haha yes. "Just bought one!" \*posts poorly framed photo of a box-stock Tesla in a parking lot\*
Yup. Accurate. Bunch of pathetic reddit dwellers.
They really missed the train for making a VW Combi replacement for our ages. It’s sad. It would be an amazing and appealing product for the post Covid world.
Tesla couldn’t even use Model ☰ I don’t see how that would work
Thanks for pointing that out. I just unsubscribed.
Given the current Cybertruck and Hummer sales I dont think theres much market for $100k EVs. If they want these to win they need to come down in cost.
Building multiple models using the same components and production lines is one way to bring down those costs. Right now they have a production line and supply chain designed for 125k-250k units of annual production that is being utilized at a small percentage of that.
Tesla's loss if you look at sales.
Again, why does that matter? If my favorite flavor of ice cream is Dubai Chocolate and I buy it, would I enjoy it less knowing it’s not the most popular flavor in the world, but maybe only the second most popular? Why would I feel compelled to explain my choice of favorite ice cream to anyone? I can’t think of one person that important to me that I must receive their permission of to get my ice cream. Why would I come onto Reddit just to point out, “oooh look at sales, it’s not the most popular flavor.” Why let it live rent free in your head? If you want it, just buy it and enjoy your life.
Can't tell if you're joking or serious, but just in case; it's a portmanteau of CyberTruck and Suburban. Suburban, while currently a Trademark of General Motors for its Chevy Suburban SUV, was actually an early name for any station wagon (what we now call "SUV" for sales purposes) style vehicle built on a truck chassis.
They might have a chance despite the currently trademarked Chevy Suburban vehicle name. The term "suburban" was originally the common trade name for any vehicle that was a station wagon style vehicle on a truck frame. For example, the Plymouth Suburban Wagon, Nash Suburban, even Studebaker made a suburban. The 1st gen GMC Suburban in 1934 was called the Carryall-Suburban. Looking further into it, General Motors didn't even trademark the Suburban name until 1988 after Plymouth stopped making the Plymouth Fury Suburban, leaving the Chevy Suburban as the only vehicle to still carry the descriptive term.
It matters as fans of the product or fans/critics of the company! We are here to discuss Tesla's successes and failures and our thoughts. I wanted the CT to do well in part so it ultimately gets cheaper and scales to provide more value for less to us. I didn't want Elon to tank his company trying to destroy our country. His decisions have future effects on Tesla talent, product, and roadmap, this isn't about a dunk, it matters for fans of the CT that its not selling.
Tesla has their sights set on Optimus as their future cash cow. Complaining about the CT not selling is like complaining their Roadster is not for the masses. The truth is not everyone needs a truck, and there are many $100K+ trucks on the market. The CT is honestly nicer and it doesn’t need to devalue itself to appeal to people that were not going to buy one anyway. If you own one, you’d know the value is there. Appealing to the trolls online is pointless. Let’s say the truck actually goes down to $50K, $40K - most of them still wouldn’t buy. Why piss off the shareholders and existing owners for zero benefit? Complainers will keep complaining. If they wanted the truck, they would’ve figured out how to get it.
I felt dumb after the other guy explained it. But yea no way cyburban would work
Should be roughly equal no? Tesla interiors are usually the cheapest bits
It’ll still be more expensive, more stuff = more cost. Just look at Rivian R1S and R1T. If Rivian could lower the price on either they would.
I thought it was more expensive because there’s more demand for the S form factor than the pickup
It’s more expensive to build. Yes it has higher demand but both models don’t have the demand Rivian would like. Put it this way, there is no waitlist and excess inventory for both models. Hell I got texted the other day that they’d discount $7,500 if I put in an order for an R1S in the next week.
I am willing to bet they are utility vans, currently Tesla Mobile service vans are not Tesla vehicles which is strange. The market for Utility vans are highly dominated by Mercedes/RAM. There is a huge market for sprinter/utility vans and I feel like Tesla might try to get in on it especially with all the tariff talks in motion that would make the imported variants more expensive than they need to be.
Chevy is the one who needs to name their EV Suburban that! I was just saying this to a buddy of mine "Chevy would really miss the mark if they don't call their electric suburban the CYburban!" 🤣
I agree. Whoever invented jet ski’s missed the mark by not calling them Boatercycles tbh honest
New model. It takes inspiration from the following models: CyberTruck, Model S, Model 3(E) and Model X They are going to call it CyberSEX or CyberS3X
