I have a Seal U and that used to be a bigger problem but it seems like the sensors are not so sensitive anymore after updates.
The best way to avoid it imo is to just leave the car on while still sitting in it. As long as the power is on, the system wont trigger (as far as i know). And theres not really any negatives in leaving the car on while parked and someone is still in it

I have an Atto3 and heard about this alarm but never experienced it. I have a 4yo and I often get her in the car first then go back into the house with the keys to grab more things to pack. I haven't left her in the car when I'm in a shop etc cause she's too young yet but there's been times at home she's spent 5 mins in the car before I finally get in, and I still haven't had the alarm go off. Even with all the doors & boot closed. I'd actually like to know how to trigger it, since I want to know what it sounds like so I don't freak out when it eventually does haha.

It's so annoying.
I actually do have a small child (who I've never forgotten in the car) and it's still annoying. We hung a toy over his head for entertainment, and even that was enough to set off the alarm when the car was stopped, because it was swaying slightly.

just leave the car on, it sips energy anyway. i sleep in my car for hours at a time between classes, its .8 kw/hour with ac at full blast. .5 or .6 if i have ac off with my laptop charging

You can turn it off but you have to do it every time. I have it as a short cut

Maybe the car was on whilst your child was in the car?
Otherwise it just sounds like your alarm going off, ie lights flashing and horn beeping.
You also got a notification to your app if you have it configured.

Go into settings on the car screen and turn it off.

Leave the car powered on and I shouldn't do it
There are radars in the cabin to monitor for pets/kids they can be disabled search for CPD, or the menu when pulling from the top, this has to be done every time the car is powered on

I had this happen to me in the car by myself in the driver’s seat. Yes we had kids in the car but it was like 20 minutes beforehand and they got out of the car after it was turned off. I sat in the driver’s seat at a fast charger, closed my door and the alarm went off. Maybe it’s so I don’t forget me!

You can turn it off, if you are in a situation where you know you will be leaving a child safely for a brief amount of time. It will turn back on next power cycle. At least you can on my car SL7.

It would make sense that it wouldn't trigger unless the car has been turned on, and then someone is left in the car after you turn it off. That said, I'm sure I've done that in my Atto3 but have also never experienced the alarm...

I'm driving a SL6, mine stays OFF after I turn it off.
It doesn't reset when power cycled.

Turn on **auto power on** / **auto power off** and never touch the start button again.
The alarm goes off because it detects a human in the car while it's turned off and it worries that the human might not be adequately refrigerated. The solution is to never have the car turned off when you're in it. This is what you want anyway, why would you want someone to be in the car at the wrong temperature? It's mostly just an old habit from ICE cars where if the power is on while you're not driving it's either burning gasoline or flattening the battery.
The auto power on / auto power off function will effectively synchronize "I am in the car" with "the car is powered on". Unlock the car and get in it and it'll be on, get out of the car and lock it and it'll turn itself off.
The only situation this doesn't quite cover is if someone unlocked the car and got in but they didn't get into the driving seat. In this situation it won't power on, although I think that person could turn it on by long-pressing the key. But hopefully that's an unusual enough situation that you won't ever run into it.
