Ask your dealer to ensure it is up to date before delivery. Unfortunately the seat changes can only be done in car. The keys can't be sync'd to a profile and the app doesn't give the option to unlock and apply a profile.  I feel your pain, my wife is way shorter than me, she'll set my profile before exiting if she knows I'm driving next.

That's an example of true love! Mine tends to just get out of the car; I get in and wipers are going, music is at max volume, etc!

You can configure multiple seat profiles from within the vehicle which you can then select from. When you enter the car the driver seat reclines automatically a bit so even if your wife was driving before you should be fine entering the vehicle and switching to your seat configuration. I haven't found the possibility to do this via app. IMO the app is pretty basic and offers not many features.

Seal: Almost 2 years. It's been in for aicon 3 times, steering wheel peeling (I think it'll be an every 18-month replacement), charging retrofit, side wall detailing coming off, creasing on the dash trim... need to get the drivers seat replaced too. And then however many hundreds for "servicing" (i.e. checks).

It's a bit unfortunate they haven't added the feature despite seeming like it's not a lot of work to get it done. For now, I have provided a Car shortcut in the homescreen for "seat adjustment" so whoever (myself/wife) get in the car have 2 presses, A. Select "Seat Adjustment" from homescreen, B. Select Profile 1 or 2. No voice command (probably easy to add), and no remote app feature for that, and also no driver profile yet. One of the few things (I'm being naughty here) that Tesla Model Y owners can rob.

I got a notification too but didn't notice anything around 'ad'. The ad should be paid by BYD competition as this conversation is highlighting a little annoyance more than anything else :)

I love my BYD seal lion 7!! It drives so smoothly and looks amazing. But, does anyone know how to manual override to unlock the doors just in case? I cant find info on how to do this.

Yes it feels simple. I wonder if there's good reason behind hesitation. A number of my previous cars had driver profiles and one issue was confusing his/her key fob. Some people like to view car key fob like a house key. So there's that. And then there's temporary remote keys which you SMS to folks. Will they have profile, to what extend, etc? I dunno but maybe BYD engineers had a reason. But anyway, surely it'll happen someday.

Mine pushes the seat back when I open the door then it moves to the first default setting. Have her preference saved as setting 2 so you dont get squished.

I get lots of random notifications all the time. I don't mind it as it expands my interest. But I have also been researching byd sealion as I want to get one.. So it's probably something with Google ads and reddit targeting notifications about things I might be interested in.

No it doesn’t. It stays at the last set position, you will need to change it each time there is a new driver. Only a few clicks of the dashboard, just don’t shut the door when you get in, or you may get squashed when the seat goes back to your wife’s position.

Rust out in no time. Extremely poor quality. These cars will be slapped with huge Tariffs to rebuild our Automotive industry and eliminate poor quality death traps. Search for the reviews, they aren't good

Make sure you get the dealer to show you how to open the doors manually in case of software failure and or fire. No I'm not anti EV just heard too many bad stories about Chinese made ones. Although yours will probably have been made in Thailand. Which would make me more confident in it.

I would tell the dealer to give it to you up to date, so they can explain all the functions to you without getting involved.

You can make a setting that the seat automatically moves back when you enter the car. So no contortionism necessary.

I've had similar notifications from groups that have nothing to do with products. So, it _may_ be the algorithm just experimenting with expanding people's interests?

I do use that setting, it doesn't go far enough back from where my wife has set. My seat is basically all the way back and hers is all the way forward.

I had a great experience with my delivery. I asked late, but was able to upgrade the seats to leather made from the slave children’s skin who died manufacturing the car!

Sealion 7 has manual door levers. You can pull once on the driver side to open the door if the doors were locked. The other doors require to be pulled twice.

You should ask them to update it before you get it. Check the latest version in your country different countries have different versions. Australia has just got onto version 3. When we got our car in Australia, there was a person specifically showed us the features of the car. Which took 30-45 mins. They even changed some settings that they found useful. Also if they allow, you can do a video recording of the show and tell. It helped us on the first week or so. Enjoy the car.

I drove one, avoided the mistake of buying. Very ordinary car to drive. I don’t feel that they will hold any value, underwhelming.

Assuming American from the language but got to remember they run very competitive warranties across different countries - the one I've picked up in the UK has 6 years for the vehicle & 8 for the battery... not many American made cars (if any) can match or beat that
