TL:DW ?

Seems to love it. Uses it to haul to build houses in the forest. Zero mechanical issues. A couple little trim or other issues that seem to be addressed by Tesla quickly. Some creaks that went away. Still waiting on the light bar. Also says he doesn’t have the snow buildup issue in the headlights that the internet likes to talk about. So, like the vast majority of Tesla reviews, he loves the vehicle and most issues are overblown.

sielingfan 2025-01-09 23:10

I'm at 7000 miles on the dual motor. No issues whatsoever. I'm not sold on the map data/navigation database for unsupervised driving just yet, but it's getting better by leaps every update. The truck itself has been perfect.

VirtualLife76 2025-01-09 23:11

So 0 issues and loves it according to the end, didn't watch the entire thing.

feurie 2025-01-09 23:11

Same here. It’s crazy just how much hate and misinformation there is about the truck. It’s a truck. It hauls and tows. It has great utility and is extremely comfortable to drive. Yes it’s expensive and people don’t like Elon. If that’s the discussion then fine but people too frequently heard some bit of misinformation then try to act… proud? That it means the truck is garbage.

VoxTemporis 2025-01-09 23:12

Reviewer: I love it! YouTube commenter: Here’s why you’re wrong

mjezzi 2025-01-09 23:22

The truck looks amazing in matte black in all those natural settings. Gorgeous. Great job with the visuals in that video!

sowaffled 2025-01-09 23:28

Funny how navigation is the big worry for full self driving (my same observation)

it’s just clickbait.

SUPER-NIINTENDO 2025-01-09 23:54

#Why isn’t he 😱 on the thumbnail?

SirBill01 2025-01-10 00:07

Dude it's only like 17 min, you don't have 17 free minutes? Eat a bag of bran muffins and want until you need to go to the restroom, bring your phone.

SirBill01 2025-01-10 00:10

It's funny his story about being overwhelmed when the trad truck guy had him try flooring the ICE truck on an open road and being underwhelmed... I had the same exact experience with a Juke salesman long ago, he had me drive to the bottom of a long road going uphill and said "Floor it!". I have to say I don't think we wound all of the rubber-bands quite as tight as they should have been... when you know what real performance is like, lots of other cars can feel really under-powered especially if you try to push them.

Kayyam 2025-01-10 00:12

No, I don't have 17 minutes for a random person.

I have to admit it hurts a bit to redline a gas car. Feels like you're abusing or destroying it. More fun stomping an EV.

TacticalMoonwalk 2025-01-10 00:19

You would not believe the number of people who do not believe it is a truck. I'm talking about people in my life. My mom thought it was a SUV because she didn't know the bed cover rolled up. Then my coworker do the "um actually...the cyber truck is not a body in frame. It's a unibody like a car." I said "so what about the Fucking Truck Bed on the back?" Their response, well is a Camino a truck?? Why are people so weird about this stuff?

[deleted] 2025-01-10 00:20

Won't do it justice tbh

TacticalMoonwalk 2025-01-10 00:21

Have you seen the Halo Warthog wrap yet? https://www.unilad.com/gaming/news/tesla-cybrertruck-transformed-halo-warthog-022866-20241024

Sorry what did you say? TL:DR.

tenemu 2025-01-10 00:26

This is a dumb response. It's okay to not want to watch a 17 minute video.

Optimus2725 2025-01-10 00:27

I want one!

[deleted] 2025-01-10 00:30

You're right, he probably secretly hates his truck.

seasoned_traveler 2025-01-10 00:42

Do you own one? No, I didn't think so. I do and I absolutely love the truck. It's easily the best vehicle I have ever owned. There is a ton of misinformation out there.

[deleted] 2025-01-10 00:45

I got my AWD CT last April. and 0 problems so far except some scratches on the SS panels. so comfy and smooth. I got so used to mine so even my Model Y feels dated especially because of steer-by-wire.driving nonCT makes me feel doing arm workout. also at first the turn signal buttons and touch gear selector felt a bit awkward but now I don't wanna go back to the ICE or MY style interface. and the front bumper camera view is so handy and necessary for CT and I use it more often than I expected.

Voidfang_Investments 2025-01-10 01:10

It’s a fantastic vehicle.

SirBill01 2025-01-10 01:12

Have you never skipped around a video before? There are plenty of videos I've skimmed and don't take the whole time. Also you can adjust playback speed... if you plan to skim what I like to do is to set playback to 2x speed, then skip around a little after you get the basics of one part.

Spudly42 2025-01-10 01:13

Lol as a long time employee, I can tell you that this is far from the worst product rollout! Honestly it actually does seem to be more about the media perception this time around, but that's just my impression.

tenemu 2025-01-10 01:14

But that doesn't give you the whole story. You can miss important parts. Asking somebody who watched it for a summary is fine.

maven_666 2025-01-10 01:20

Same. Best car I’ve ever owned by far.

maven_666 2025-01-10 01:22

1: not really. You would have to be trying to hurt yourself. 2: works fine for the passenger. No issues. 3: depends on where you live I guess. I haven’t had any issues.

Spudly42 2025-01-10 01:22

I guess it's a good thing recalls aren't the only measure of success, then!

TacticalMoonwalk 2025-01-10 01:26

Seems like those issues were also overblown by the car reviewers I watched. Thanks for the info.

Spudly42 2025-01-10 01:31

Are you referring to the customer in this video? I have no idea if they thought it was a good customer experience, but most people like Teslas for the products and not the customer experience. I'm not really sure what point you were trying to make, I'm just saying relative to other product launches, this was hardly a botched launch. In fact, probably the only one that was smoother was the Model Y launch.

sielingfan 2025-01-10 01:35

1. I don't have SHARP edges, but they are definitely HARD edges. I've skinned a shin or two, not slicing but just dragging a hard corner across soft skin. Worth noting I'm missing a leg, so some of my entry/exit moves are on the clumsy side -- but that may apply to kids too. Nearly all my damage comes from climbing into the bed from an awkward angle, but I just keep doing it lol. This probably sounds worse than it is. It's more like the edge of a desk I keep bumping into the wrong way. 2. Im a terrible judge because I live in perpetual drought in New Mexico. I think it wipes plenty of real estate but I haven't really needed it badly. The wiper fluid is sprayed from the blade itself, so it distributes nicely and cleans pretty good. One downside is I'm never at gas stations so I had to buy my own scrubber/squeegee thing to clear bugs. 3. Unconcerned. I get curious people and the rare middle finger, but generally human beings are sane.

TacticalMoonwalk 2025-01-10 01:45

That is all pretty refreshing to hear. Seems like pretty manageable stuff. I have been up next to a few cyber trucks, but never touched one. Need to talk to one of my friends neighbors and ask if I can check it out for myself. Thanks for the input.

Ancient_Persimmon 2025-01-10 01:58

It is unibody, at least in Tesla's fashion, but beefed up for truck use. The GM EV trucks and the Rivian R1T also are.

paulwesterberg 2025-01-10 02:27

I live in Wisconsin, we used to get tons of snow, turns out that isn’t a thing anymore. :-/

oswell_pepper 2025-01-10 03:28

10k-mi is a milestone but it means very little. Most production vehicles have very little issues at 10k miles. Get back to us when it’s 50k miles, and then 100k miles.

commandersprocket 2025-01-10 05:57

When he talks about game changer for FSD he didn't talk about the one thing I thought every single construction guy would talk about. When you have unsupervised FSD...you can send the truck to the store to pick up that one thing you forgot. That is HUGE.

Inert82 2025-01-10 06:05

If this car comes to Northern Europe, I’m pretty sure that the snow build IS gonna be an issue.

Fire69 2025-01-10 09:15

Video thumbnail: Sad face (but not really!)

Fire69 2025-01-10 09:19

Love the random banana test!

shaneucf 2025-01-10 10:15

Also F150 raptor and Ram trx performances are jokes compared to cyber beast. F150 raptor life cost is more than CT

ObeseSnake 2025-01-10 11:52

I see Cybertruck content, I upvote.

RandyBeaman 2025-01-10 19:28

If you don't have tits to show then you have to make a soy face. Dems the YouTube thumbnail rules.

dtpearson 2025-01-10 19:37

It was the same with the initial 3 though. I just could not believe how many people would take HUGE pride in informing me that they only last 5 years and I would have to replace the battery, I should charge it away from my house, as they catch fire so much, don't stand in water when you plug it in etc etc. The second most unbelievable thing is how many people STILL believe all of the misinformation, despite YEARS of it being debunked.

ADriftingMind 2025-01-10 20:50

Cyberbeast owner with zero issues after putting 4000 miles on it. Best thing I’ve ever driven.

ace-treadmore 2025-01-11 00:22

He says he has taken it skiing and in blizzard conditions with no headlight issues.

ace-treadmore 2025-01-11 00:25

Unibody means the chassis is a whole bunch of spot welded panels. A structural pack, 2 megacastings and a stressed skin body is a different thing entirely.

ace-treadmore 2025-01-11 00:26

I think the CT is legitimately the best vehicle ever made.

ace-treadmore 2025-01-11 00:29

The video is mostly an early impressions review. I think he goes into issues mostly to debunk all of the FUD.

Ancient_Persimmon 2025-01-11 01:12

Not really, there's no hard definition of it, other than it's not body on frame. If there's some integration between the structure and the body exists, then it's considered unibody. Look at the various "space frame" aluminum unibody cars that use extrusions. Very little of the Cybertruck's outer panels are stressed either, just the rear quarters.

It’s still early winter but I have also not had issues with snow. Not sure about your physics.

AffectionateArtist84 2025-01-11 04:12

Hopefully my comment here wasn't taken the wrong way. I had a couple of minutes between meetings and was curious what the video said. Had nothing to do with the quality of interest to watch it, had everything to do with a lake of time. Sorry if that offended you

StabbyMcStaberson 2025-01-11 05:52

The truck goes inside home depot and buys stuff for me?

BigGreenBillyGoat 2025-01-11 07:34

I grew up in MI. I never had a problem with snow building up on headlights there. Moved to CA, and every winter drive to Tahoe in a snowstorm piled snow on my headlights and windshield no matter what. Snow can have different properties in different areas.

[deleted] 2025-01-11 07:40

[deleted]

BigGreenBillyGoat 2025-01-11 07:50

My point is that some snow can stick and some won’t. There are people NOT complaining about this issue. Until it’s confirmed to be a real problem, I’ll reserve judgement. Edit, and I don’t know if you’ve actually looked at a lot of cars, but over the years, literally millions of them were built with headlights directly above a huge shelf of a bumper.

commandersprocket 2025-01-11 16:07

Curbside pickup, operating the tonneau cover or doors from the job site.

[deleted] 2025-01-11 17:53

Surprised it doesn’t have open mouth and bulging eyes like all the other clickbait

unique_usemame 2025-01-12 04:58

It seems to depend a bunch on the details of temperature and type of snow, as well as the driving speed. Soft snow typically just blows away from the headlights at freeway speeds. We have used it on a bunch of ski trips already. We have had snow accumulate once on the headlights during the daytime. It seemed to be very sticky snow that affected everyone similarly. Typically in snowfall I'm seeing this issue affect model Y much more than cybertruck. I can see someone driving through blizzards for a winter and getting lucky and not having the issue.

[deleted] 2025-01-14 07:58

>There are people NOT complaining about this issue. Where are they all then?! ^/s

badcatdog42 2025-01-15 11:07

The last time I floored an ICE (6 cyl) ... Nothing happened!!! Such crap.

[deleted] 2025-01-17 00:28

Nah there has to be something else you aren’t omnipotent and omnipresent

Full-Tomorrow-4486 2025-02-08 00:54

Our 4.7 Landcruiser - is just enough for country roads in Malaysia. Look forward to an EV truck.... very soon.

Spirited_Cat2114 2025-02-16 06:37

I received cyber truck as a loaner. Yesterday was first day and i had mixed feelings and today I was planning to buy a cyber truck. it's amazing. people who were cursing the truck before even sitting inside or driving. Today they were looking at me that I am the coolest person in the room and the road.

dumbo61 2025-02-18 04:41

I have a Ford Lightning that I really love. It was supposed to be the bridge until I could purchase a CT. I finally got to take a CT out for a 30 minute test drive. I really liked it. The rear wheel steering and drive by wire was weird at first but I found myself getting used to it (and enjoying). I did not like the lack of rear visibility. My Lightning has great all around visibility which makes it easy to drive for such a big vehicle. The shorter 6 inch length of the CT would make parking in my garage easier. The camera views on the CT are higher definition. It was funner to drive. I will probably wait another year and see what the 2016 CT and Lightnings offer.

ahfmca 2025-05-04 17:48

Amazing technology in this truck, way ahead of its time!
