Pretty sure blowing up a bomb is in the trunk is the ultimate durability test and the Cybertruck passed. Too soon?

MentalExercise1313 2025-01-04 02:30

Definitely not too soon

curious_bee1212 2025-01-04 03:00

I didn't know this guy before. It blows my mind that anyone would destroy a gorgeous 150k cybertruck. I can't stop watching.

refpuz 2025-01-04 03:01

Probably makes that much back and more in ad revenue from the video

NetJnkie 2025-01-04 03:05

"bomb"

The_Xenocide 2025-01-04 03:05

It was a pretty poorly made bomb. In the first video from last summer he literally put c4 on the door and the Cybertruck absorbed the impact whereas everyone in the back of the f150 would have been killed.

elatllat 2025-01-04 03:08

He is not testing the trucks equally but I'm still going to watch it anyway.

[deleted] 2025-01-04 03:19

Not to mention the F-150, the..building..and whatever else. I assume they do it because they make it back. They have like 8 million subscribers.

copperwatt 2025-01-04 03:19

Exactly the right amount of soon

[deleted] 2025-01-04 03:26

They actually kinda did that in the previous episode. They set off C4 charges on the tailgate and back door of both trucks. It put holes in the F150 and dents in the Cybertruck.

copperwatt 2025-01-04 03:39

I think the CT is actually growing on him this round, lol. And he did not go easy on the f150 with that jump this time, ooof....

VirtualLife76 2025-01-04 03:47

That's just crazy in so many ways.

copperwatt 2025-01-04 03:57

It it's peak... something.

ElGuano 2025-01-04 03:59

In the first video, he deducted points for the CT because he had to charge it when first delivered….even though they had the vehicle long enough to have all those decals put on. Hard time buying that one.

copperwatt 2025-01-04 04:02

Keep in mind he is literally a professional high budget troll. So he will score them however he thinks will infuriate the most number of people into commenting on his videos. His scoring system comes from the exact same place the racist rice/Chinese accent bit in this video does. He's just trying to get a reaction.

mattthebamf 2025-01-04 04:03

Wait until you see the one where he burns a Ferrari to complete ash - by accident.

ElGuano 2025-01-04 04:04

Yeah, 100%. Scripted and scored for maximum engagement. He was 100% correct about that hitch though.

mattthebamf 2025-01-04 04:05

oh AND the rental van they were using for filming at the same time

[deleted] 2025-01-04 04:28

He wrecked way more expensive stuff. This channel is whacked

[deleted] 2025-01-04 04:43

[deleted]

GreyGreenBrownOakova 2025-01-04 04:48

Also criticised the CT because it broke the tow bar off when it slammed on a ledge after driving over drain pipes. The F150 didn't have that problem because it didn't make it over the drain pipes.

Substantial_Mail_781 2025-01-04 04:53

He made a second video shortly after where he dropped the f150 on the same drain pipe over 20 times with an excavator. It just bent. His tests are in no way real world applicable but the f150 didn't snap

ElGuano 2025-01-04 04:53

I think he legitimately debunked that one. He has a follow up video dropping the f-150 onto its hitch on concrete 20+ times and using an excavator to drag the entire truck around by the hitch. Hitch never comes close to failing. https://youtu.be/_scBKKHi7WQ?si=yegQEZ3RX6LlsJ6d He may be a troll, but he can prove a point.

shellacr 2025-01-04 04:54

Yeah hopefully most are aware CT has no summon feature yet.

[deleted] 2025-01-04 05:03

I can’t stand WD. Just seems like such a massive douche

GreyGreenBrownOakova 2025-01-04 05:14

He only did the additional test when he was called out on it. The choice of camera angles in the original vid made it appear that it ripped off with general use, rather than blatant misuse. His point is misleading. It works fine when it's used correctly.

[deleted] 2025-01-04 05:15

Apparently he is the only person to have received summon for the CT as I do not know anyone who has it, me included.

GreyGreenBrownOakova 2025-01-04 05:18

It's just like newspapers when they spread falsehoods on the front page. The retraction comes later, in small print and on page 26.

intelw1zard 2025-01-04 05:23

riiight. Like how did that guy not know how to make a proper VBIED given his military history and abilities.

flompwillow 2025-01-04 05:24

Gotta watch the one where he puts wagon wheels on a model 3. I can’t stand him, he’s so full of it, but he does some interesting things to be sure.

LyingCakeMyth 2025-01-04 06:00

Watch his toyota and g wagon test series. Its amazing. Whistlin diesel on yt

[deleted] 2025-01-04 06:02

I actually just did! Or at least, the 3-part g wagon series that was ostensibly up against a Hilux, though the Hilux wasn't super present in most of the videos.

JackJak95 2025-01-04 06:06

They had to do something while they waited for the truck to charge

ender1108 2025-01-04 06:15

It grows on you. We all felt that way in the start

bgarza18 2025-01-04 06:15

He also took the cybertruck off of drops that the F150 couldn’t even get to lol

kschwa7 2025-01-04 06:25

This. He's playing a character. After what I've seen so far, I'll be watching every damn video he puts out.

ez117 2025-01-04 07:19

…there is no misleading, he literally replicates the same vertical hit 20x over and shows that yes the F150 is stronger and that yes the Cybertruck failed on something the F150 did not.

[deleted] 2025-01-04 08:18

[removed]

chriskmee 2025-01-04 08:34

Except the running out of battery was realistic and easily reproducible, the cybertruck should have multiple safety measures preventing a summon through the wall. Did it really matter that top gear simulated a very real thing as a transition into the charging situation? This is before supercharging, so charging sucked. They could have spent more time and money and wasted a day of filming by actually reproducing it, getting the same exact result, but why waste all that time and money? Edit: for those downvoting me im really curious, would it have been better if they spent the extra time and money to actually get the car to run out of battery while getting the same exact shot?

intelw1zard 2025-01-04 08:36

I mean it seems to be the "stupidest" people who raise to the level enough to become YouTube famous. For example, Jake & Logan Paul. Also kinda shows how much money Google is making off ads if its able to give so much money to people like WD or Mr Beast they can spend hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars to produce a single video. The creators have pivoted a lot to their own side hustles and selling merch but their ad revenue is still pretty beefy.

cav754 2025-01-04 08:36

That’s… literally nothing like it at all lol. Something happened in the first video and he said it was bad. Bunch of “extremely intelligent” yuppies that have only looked at trucks with disgust came out in force and told him he was wrong, and then he proved THEM wrong in his response. The cybertruck is just a really bad truck, it can be a “cool” vehicle for city people to cosplay as working class, but your average cybertruck owner is locking their doors when an actual working class person is 3 cars away in the parking lot and then pulling their phone out to tell the world how they almost got mugged today. Before I get called a Tesla hater I literally own 2 of them right now as we speak. The cybertruck is just a really bad truck and there isn’t much you can really do about it.

FapsMother 2025-01-04 08:40

One of the most desirable car in 2025 ;)

[deleted] 2025-01-04 08:51

Usually i don't like this kind of free destruction video, but i must admit this one made me laught a lot.

intelw1zard 2025-01-04 08:56

Peak redneck autism

INDY_RAP 2025-01-04 09:08

Yea he fixed the CT 3 more times than the other one. And the other one still ran after it lost its drive shaft haha

WrongdoerIll5187 2025-01-04 09:33

No he wasn’t

psaux_grep 2025-01-04 09:47

So you don’t see at all how half the Cybertruck vs. the F-150 tests in the first video are clearly skewed and he cries about damage sustained from exposing the Cybertruck to significantly higher impact forces than the F-150? See, that’s my issue. Guy is 200% unwatchable, sure, but when the content proclaims that all testing is 1:1, but then - especially when - he goes ahead and jumps both of them flat out - with flat out being so much faster in the Cybertruck… remember that energy increases with the square of the velocity (E = mv^2)… so when the Cybertruck impacts the ground after a taller drop it stands to reason it should sustain more damage. Then he portrays subsequent failures as completely unrelated to prior activities and cries wolf about what happens. Sure, it’s probably not ideal that the tow bar fails that way, but until it actually fails when not abused like insane I’m not going to attribute it with anything. But people all over the internet go parroting it like it’s a huge safety hazard when the truck should have been undriveable after what it went through. The F-150 frame would probably have split if it was subjected to the same force.

DigressiveUser 2025-01-04 09:47

Ffs fix your grammar first

SixZoSeven 2025-01-04 11:05

Every truck owner that I’ve spoken to that got a Cybertruck says it pretty much does everything better except long distance towing.

Redsjo 2025-01-04 11:08

You don't know if there was something behind pushing it tho. He shouted multiple times when it was in place fishy..

hunguu 2025-01-04 11:52

Yes, the first cyber truck video got 28 million views and YouTube pays about $5000 per million views so the first video paid for the truck. This second video will make another $100k probably.

Before that there is a Hilux test on its own.

twinbee 2025-01-04 13:59

Awesome and funny vid like last time. I don't really care if the Cybertruck won or not. I did however roll my eyes at the beginning tug of war stuff. AFAIK, the bottleneck there is the tires/road, not the power of the engine/motor. If they wanted a fair test of strength, they'd need wheels on the top of the car too (to make 8 wheels), and a roof for them to roll along. I've racked my brains to think of another way, and that's all I could come up with.

AnOoglyBoogly 2025-01-04 14:29

Insane but good tests. Hope it’s something to be learned from by Tesla to see where improvements could be made to make this thing indestructible.

LithoSlam 2025-01-04 15:16

He did mention that the F-150 didn't have enough power to destroy itself like the cybertruck

LithoSlam 2025-01-04 15:20

Apparently they didn't roll it out to more people because it has a tendency to Kool-Aid man through a wall.

stanley_fatmax 2025-01-04 15:32

And YouTube pays pennies compared to the sponsored segments they do. That's where the real money comes from.

Sure they did.

> I can’t stand him, he’s so full of it, Envy? He's probably fairly wealthy, super successful and intelligent. Some pride and maybe a little audacity, but that often goes with the territory and is more than earnt judging by his videos. More power to him!

uniquelyavailable 2025-01-04 15:44

interesting video but their lack of safety gear is appalling considering the risks they're taking

[deleted] 2025-01-04 15:46

OP is right about the grammar mate

cav754 2025-01-04 16:04

I’m sure all the yuppies agree that they can fit so many groceries in the truck and that their 4yo princess thinks it looks really cool on the way to her yoga and dance classes.

LakeSun 2025-01-04 16:06

ad nausea testing.

Magnetoreception 2025-01-04 16:25

It’s not a scientific test it’s just entertainment.

SkySix 2025-01-04 16:35

He literally did another test on just the F150 because of people complaining like you just did. He dropped it dozens of times directly onto the tow hitch to show the same thing won't happen. But again, at the end of the day his videos are 100% just entertainment value and if someone is using them as justification as to why they're not going to buy a cybertruck, they weren't going to buy one in the first place.

flompwillow 2025-01-04 16:36

Not envy, I do well enough. He’s too young to have earned that money, unless he simply lucked out and won the Powerball. It was someone else’s money to start. Maybe it’s just my dislike of randomly destroying things of value for show. I also don’t like hunters that hunt for racks and not meat. Too much waste in this world. To each his own, but he doesn’t get a spot in my feed.

[deleted] 2025-01-04 16:54

[deleted]

[deleted] 2025-01-04 16:54

That is the problem, cybertrucks have shit tires installed in them stock.

[deleted] 2025-01-04 16:57

Yes he is, the F150 has had one repair, a drive shaft, while the CyberTruck has been to the dealer 3 times with a 25,000 plus price tag, Plus the F-150 still drove with its broken driveshaft, the same cannot be said for the CT.

[deleted] 2025-01-04 16:59

What do you mean this does not matter, the frame snapped. The main part of a car, the thing that keeps everything together, snapped.

GoofyGills 2025-01-04 17:00

It is an amazing YT channel lol

[deleted] 2025-01-04 17:00

Yes he was, what is there to lie about? He did the same to the F-150 like 10 times in the follow up vid and it didnt break. Some much for your “giga-casting”.

[deleted] 2025-01-04 17:02

Yes, the cybertruck was bricked for a good couple months, while the F-150 still drove. The Cybertruck also went back to the dealer in the second video.

[deleted] 2025-01-04 17:02

I would.

Redsjo 2025-01-04 17:03

Good catch.

[deleted] 2025-01-04 17:03

He did the same to the f-150, it’s frame didn’t split.

Armaced 2025-01-04 17:23

I’d like to know why you say that.

Upset_Exit_7851 2025-01-04 17:27

Welcome… 🤣

SixZoSeven 2025-01-04 18:07

Your comment projects how bothered you are that some people really enjoy the Cybertruck. I’m not a fan of modern Chevy trucks, but I never feel the need to spend my free time making embarrassing comments to try and show how much I don’t want others to enjoy a Silverado they might find cool.

BMWbill 2025-01-04 18:33

And yet, in his first video, the F150 was made undriveable in the first 30 seconds! The video should have just been concluded right there when the CyberTruck easily rolled off the same flatbed and didn't break its driveshaft because it doesn't have one. He literally had to stop making his video in the very beginning of shooting and take the truck in to the dealer for a new driveshaft which took days. Later in the the first video, his team beats on the Cybertruck for more than 5 mounted trying to break into the interior. He never does this test on the very fragile F150 because it would last only seconds. Things like this really annoyed me- clearly this guy chose his winner way before he started filming his fake videos.

BMWbill 2025-01-04 18:35

But at least the Cybertruck was still drivable. In his first video the F150 was made inoperable for days with a broken driveshaft in the first 30 seconds, when the CyvberTruck easily passed the same test.

WrongdoerIll5187 2025-01-04 18:44

Because it’s casted. It’s aluminum designed to be incredibly strong as a whole and in the loads it was intended to bear (in this case, in the direction of trailer pull). Instead, he dropped it five to six feet into concrete vertically then was surprised he cracked the casting. The truck is not designed for that force in that way, nor would it ever encounter that off roading. Casting are very strong and very light so they have a lot of benefits

Armaced 2025-01-04 19:08

Thank you for elaborating! I can imagine how having the hitch as part of the cast would be superior to having it welded on. Obviously steel is still stronger than aluminum, but it is also heavier which would impact the range. I need to investigate the other electric trucks to see if they have steel or aluminum frames.

farmfamfarmster 2025-01-04 19:17

The Hilux series was insane. By the way, what happened to his jet-ski lawsuit?

farmfamfarmster 2025-01-04 19:20

He got a new, more expensive one. Probably gonna burn that thing to the ground as well, soon.

shellacr 2025-01-04 20:43

if he made $140k off the first youtube video that’s still a loss counting the cost of both the CT and lightning. guess maybe he makes a profit if you count sponsors and subsequent videos.

[deleted] 2025-01-04 22:37

And acceleration, people compare these two “trucks” but forget that the Beast can beat a corvette in a drag race. A lot of design decisions were made to save weight to make the CT a transformer vehicle that has a fast AF mode and a truck mode.

ffiarpg 2025-01-04 23:33

If they just showed a vehicle running out of charge that would've been fine. They lied about the range and the charge time. https://topgear.fandom.com/wiki/Tesla_Roadster_Review_Controversy

omnibossk 2025-01-04 23:43

He kept spinning the CT wheels while slow moving the F-150 wheels to keep traction. That made me crazy, I guess it was intentional LOL

chriskmee 2025-01-04 23:48

As I recall the range was calculated by Tesla using previous laps, and it was clearly described as range at a track not range going to the grocery store. Also same with the charge time, they clearly said they were using a normal socket, and the charge time for that was accurate. Supercharging wasn't available for the roadster, I don't think it even existed at all.

ffiarpg 2025-01-05 00:00

I went to rewatch the video again, hadn't seen it in some time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKtK493sGAk You're right, they did say normal socket. There was a faster charge speed option before superchargers but they didn't mention it. They pushed the car to imply it went dead in the middle of their testing and bad mouthed it about as much as they could. Showing power lines leading to....evaporation towers of a nuclear energy plant I think?

olawlor 2025-01-05 00:31

The pointless destruction makes me understand why, in an 1800's potlatch, burning blankets or breaking canoes was a way to demonstrate wealth. Shaking my head...

GreyGreenBrownOakova 2025-01-05 00:47

It's misleading because the edit in the main video barely shows the hit and shows the tow point rip off when trying to tow the F-150. Casual viewers only see the part where it can't tow without breaking.

Mediocre-Message4260 2025-01-05 00:48

Mythbusters, but chaotic evil.

GreyGreenBrownOakova 2025-01-05 00:50

It wasn't the vehicle frame, it was the tow point frame, which bolts to the vehicle frame. Driving isn't compromised, just towing. If you don't drop it from a height onto concrete, you'll be fine.

chriskmee 2025-01-05 00:59

They were pretty harsh on it, and maybe more than they should have been, but I don't think they crossed the line of being dishonest or outright lying. Yes they did imply the car ran out of power when it didn't, but I think it's fine to do something like that in a tv show setting. If they actually ran it out the shot would have been the exact same, maybe even worse if the car lost power mid track and they showed it getting pushed from there in a little montage or something. They are on a time constraint to film the episode so if they can save hours by simulating the car running out of power while still being true to a realistic scenario, I think that's fine. I think the worst they did was the breakdown part, the car did technically break down but it was just a fuse or something that needed to be replaced. I wouldn't call it dishonest but it was a bit misleading.

CockroachCalm2782 2025-01-05 08:22

F150tyres grip better teslas are all spinning Doesn’t seem equal in that respect

living_in_vr 2025-01-05 17:41

You realise it's an obvious bit? Like...a joke? Nobody is supposed to believe this is real haha

ROFLetzWaffle 2025-01-06 01:07

I was most impressed to see it still hauling after the rear passenger wheel jettisoned from the suspension linkage.

RiskProfessional6959 2025-01-07 03:20

He does say at the end that one key difference between the F150 and the Cybertruck is that the F150 doesn’t have enough HP to hurt itself as bad as the Cybertruck can. Basically, the Cybertruck simply goes harder.

DuneProphecy 2025-01-07 06:32

Watch the previous episode - he did that already.

DuneProphecy 2025-01-07 06:32

His watchers are 98% tesla haters , of course he will make the Ford look best

300lbsVirgin 2025-01-07 12:33

I think it was just a regular gas f150

Glum-Sea-2800 2025-01-07 13:59

And they have their own merch their viewers can buy.

[deleted] 2025-01-07 18:48

[deleted] 2025-01-07 18:52

Does look like fun though.

ShirBlackspots 2025-01-07 22:10

Yeah, it was a regular F-150. The Lightning doesn't have a 8' long driveshaft

ShirBlackspots 2025-01-07 22:11

It didn't split, but it did bend.

Paulsthoughtspacex 2025-01-07 23:09

Very wrong terry. The Cybertruck is hands down better than a F150

VideoGameJumanji 2025-01-07 23:57

The only sponsor he could get was some shitty energy chew company, I think that speaks volumes.

[deleted] 2025-01-08 01:51

It was still drivable with the broken driveshaft, the Cyber Truck was bricked later in the episode and required $20,000 plus worth or dealership repairs. In the second episode the CT had to be sent back to the dealer, while the F-150 did snap a drive shaft, that it only a couple grand and it was still drivable. The reason it the second episode took a while to come was because the CT was in the shop for months.

[deleted] 2025-01-08 05:00

Alrighty there Musksthoughtsspacex

shhh … let the trash take itself out ;)

twinbee 2025-01-14 10:11

> Maybe it’s just my dislike of randomly destroying things of value for show. You'll hate the crash test dummies then. It's a service to the public to see how durable these trucks are.

flompwillow 2025-01-14 14:40

> It's a service to the public to see how durable these trucks are. Ehh, I don’t really see a test of durability, it’s not how trucks get used for real. For me, durability is about longevity under loaded, normal conditions- can the truck go hundreds of thousands of miles within its design parameters without failure. Jumping a truck with a pallet of bricks isn’t a durability test IMO, it’s a slap-stick comedy torture test that’s not relevant to real usage of the vehicle. It’s interesting to see where failures occur, nonetheless. Hey- I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with his show, he can destroy vehicles for entertainment and people can enjoy that, and even sus-out some technical differences, I support his right to do so and your right to enjoy it!
