Scheduled charge 'start charge now' negates schedule end. Not expected.

Be aware that the 'start charge now' option on a schedule setup completely negates the end schedule. Seems more like a 'cancel schedule this time' than 'start now'. My expectations was that it would still honour the end time. Since my power cost nearly triple between 15:00 to 21:00, I try not to charge at those time, and schedule should end at 15:00, no matter when I opted to start. This effectively negates me able to use the 'start now' option. I have schedule setup for when my home is 100% covered by solar. 8:00 to 15:00. I loose most sun by 15:00 due to roof angle not facing north, but sometimes I want to start charge at 5am, as cost at that time is very cheap, and low on power. Atto3.

Yeah can confirm. I tried the "Start Now" option just yesterday and it completely went over the scheduled end time. Atto 2. You're right, it felt more like a "Cancel schedule" than "Start Now".

I figure it is a bug. Will have a look tomorrow if they have a bug report procedure. Negating the end time makes no sense

yeah its poorly labeled, it should be "override schedule" or something

seems the only way is to g via the dealer, which I am not even going to try. The utter incompetence with the dealership has scared me away for life. My adventure to become a BYD owner on day 3 was an email from someone at the dealership with: Sorry, we can;t find your purchase. Why don;t you place a new order, and when we find the first one, we will issue a refund....the incompetence just grew from there. So, hope that maybe someone at BYD reads these posts, and they wake up and setup to allow online bug reporting.

That whole aspect is a very lacking And even if you set a new schedule that during the schedule it won’t start charging unless you hit charge now I would almost prefer to trade the schedule system for a charge now / stop charge button that works! At least I could set a phone reminder

I have decided to have a smart relay wired into my charge port, so I can have more fine grain control, and schedule via home assistant. Can setup better charge rules. Example: stop charge if solar is low, but only if car power is above 50, else charge until 15:00. I figure waiting for BYD to fix shit is never gonna happen. You'd think that they would do proper scoping and planning for features. The whole schedule system is extremely poor.

just change the start time to before now and it will start right away... or in the nearest 5 mins if you like.
