Which One?

All things considered which would you buy? 2025 Model Y LR AWD for 37k 2024 Model Y LR AWD for 35k 2026 premium AWD for whatever new is 2026 premium RWD for whatever new is The used have pretty low miles and are from dealers. Torn mostly on whether we’d be missing anything substantial by not getting the new model. Also not sure if those prices are even close to what we should be paying.

Coming from long line of Tessies and now with a 2026 MYP for shits, 2026 RWD all you realistically need and WANT due to refresh

ComputerForsaken 2026-03-07 13:05

AWD for sure if you live somewhere where it snows. Otherwise, RWD is great. If I had to choose between 2024 and 2025, I’d lean towards the 2025 just for the sake of lengthier warranty, especially if mileage is similar or better. As for 2026, not sure what the pricing is to be fair, so can’t help you there.

I’m currently selling my 2023 MYLR AWD (HW4) for 30K and picking up my new 2026 Premium AWD on Monday. I can’t wait. Yes, I know I’m taking a hit on depreciation costs but the .99% is much better than the 6.5% I’m paying now. Plus, it’s within my budget and I like having new things. It truly all depends on your budget and if you’re paying in cash or financing. Financing on a used car won’t beat the .99% for new right now.

Got a CPO 22 LR awd for $25k. Couldn’t justify the extra $8k or so to get hw4.

Paying cash so that would cut the financing out. What about the 26 made you take the jump?

Vanillalite34 2026-03-07 13:31

Agree. If you live in the northern US or Canada where it snows a lot AWD can come in clutch. If you live in say LA or Atlanta or Miami or whatever save the cash tbh.

Also another thought… if we aren’t using FSD all the time is it worth it?

Was the 26 suspension that drastically different from the 24 and 25?

kevtke194 2026-03-07 13:44

The newer suspension, smoother ride, quieter cabin, new exterior design, ventilated seats, screen in the back for the kids. Then the 99% financing was very enticing. Then to top it off, I just got a nail in one of my tires and they all needed to be replaced anyway. Didn’t want to spend $1500 on new tires for a car I was considering getting rid of soon. So that nail was literally the nail in the coffin for me to make the switch.

Yes

I got a month free FSD. Just did a 480 mile trip. The hw3 FSD did well. It does get confused with unexpected off ramp closures and odd on-ramps. My plan is to only pay the $100 when I know I’ll have multiple road trips in a month. If I was commuting a long way everyday I would strongly consider HW4.

AnOoglyBoogly 2026-03-07 15:02

Yes but even if you’re in a snowy area save money with RWD. The traction system holds up really well, just keep up with your tire maintenance.

alman12345 2026-03-07 15:59

Be careful with that, the opportunity cost on $35,000+ is no slouch and 0-0.99% APR is hard to pass up. Another thing to consider is do you intend to use FSD? If not then having the brand new one might hurt with an extra $100/mo in lieu of Autopilot.

Just drove the 24 and a new 26. Your comment is exactly my thoughts. Yes. Big difference.

Lol was trying to keep it simple. I have nothing bad to say about the legacy Ys it’s just I have a lot more good to say about the Juniper

This. Unless you have a foot of snow every year 2026 RWD Premium is the trim to get. The rest are “want” vs “need”. Cheapest RWD 2026 is unfortunately subpar due to 20k less battery and DU warranty
