It’s actually really good . Really liked the strawberry shake & grilled cheese .

Not really. Free popcorn, I think. You’ll see videos of Optimus serving it, but he is almost never actually doing it or even there. They have bathrooms and overpriced drinks, food, and Tesla merch specific to the diner. Good views and free drive-in style screenings.

We had the smash burgers and fries. It was actually really good. Forgot we also had the matcha latte. Wasn’t very good, standard green tea flavored milk for like $8.

It's a shame they don't open on on the east coast.

The burgers and shakes are good, however the fries were too salty imo.

Located in Hollywood, California. Tesla Diner has *plenty* of Supercharging with 80 stalls or so, good food and drinks though a bit expensive, cool merch unique to the Diner itself, great views of the Hollywood hills, and features two drive-in style screens for showings of shows like The Office and Knight Rider. I have way more detailed photos and videos of things like dining tables, bathrooms, walkway to the top floor outdoor area, etc. that I can share as well.

While charging at the Diner, if you hit your 80%, do you get hit with idle charges while you're eating your food in peace?

I believe they give a 35 minute grace period once you hit your charge limit.

If only they could put a bit more effort in service centers

Execs at Tesla (not just Elon) have said they were planning more than just this one. But I haven't herd anything more recently. Would def be cool if they do come to fruition.

Hope so. It stinks they do everything in Cali and Texas. I get why, but show us east coast people some love.

The food is expensive (typical for LA) but it is legit good. We shared the wagyu burger and chili cheese fries. Whenever I get back down to LA we’ll probably try to go again.

The smash burger was not great to be honest. But the hotdog was great, super flavorful.

I wonder if the proof of concept leads anywhere with other companies. The premise of charging while eating makes sense.

I made the voyage while in LA a few weeks ago. It was very cool as a Tesla fan. Food was very good but expensive. The screens were awesome - had Star Trek on and then Spy Kids. Was a great experience while charging.

Popcorn and Merch are upstairs. If busy, order to go in your car, receive the food and then go inside and eat it. This way you skip the line upfront

I wonder if I can justify the time driving down there from, uh, the PNW just to say I went to the Tesla diner. Oh, and added several charge stations to my map.

Yes, but all the parking spots in the diner area are chargers. There is parking on the street, and it shouldn’t be too difficult to find a spot close enough to walk to the diner.

Do what we did: plan a Disneyland trip and hit some other things on the way down or back. I visited the filming locations of Halloween (1978) a few days after the Tesla Diner.

It only makes sense because charging time sucks right now. China has cars that can charge in 5-10 minutes. Once that becomes a thing in the US, this fad will fade out.

They said a hamburger was supposed to come up on the screen in my car. *a hamburger?!?* I responded to the security guard. *Yes* he said. A hamburger never showed up - they just let me in to order my food - it was like 2am.

There's so many better places in LA.

I live 8 hours away, it’s not that big of a deal. We have plenty of good food in SF and Sac. We don’t have the Tesla diner.

China doesn’t have those cars at scale yet. They are now in development and will be the top of the range cars.

I got the matcha one time while charging and never again. Tastes meh and the serving was so minuscule, especially for the price.

You have nothing better to do with your time than sit on your ass for 8 hours, eat a burger, then sit on your ass another 8 hours? not to mention the depreciation cost on your vehicle.

That’s a terrible idea because no one has figured out how to run charging over 3-4C without greatly accelerating degradation. Here’s a guy [breaking it down](https://youtu.be/qYJk1Qljwgg) with sources in case you thought the Chinese were onto something (they aren’t, their fast charging here is equally as detrimental to batteries as it is in cell phones but cars cost 10s of thousands to replace batteries in). A more impactful mechanism to improve charging times (without drawbacks) would be increasing battery size and keeping C rates in the 3-4 range closest to when it’s near empty.

I’m pretty sure the word you are looking for is sysco not Cisco. Sysco provides food, of all quality, to a very large number of restaurants. You are likely eating Sysco more often than you think when you go out 😂

I suppose many of them go in and eat/watch or just chill in their car and not watch at all. You can have food delivered to your car.

I have visited. I was overly excited at the dinner. However, life long food and beverage employee here. I was not impressed with the food at all. About as bad of food as I had paid for in years.

I'm in Canada and thinking about road tripping to LA to go to the Tesla diner when we eventually buy one. Life is about vibing and having experiences.

Had double salted fries a few times, were wayy too salty to eat. And I like to eat salmiack
