Juniper Running Boards

Can anyone recommend sturdy running boards for Juniper? I need them as a step assistance for elderly passengers and as a side body protection when someone slams their car door into Tesla. I have found [Evannex running boards](https://evannex.com/products/evannex-running-boards-for-tesla-model-y), but they state that they are only for Model Y 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Step assistance for the elderly? Just curious, have you actually had this issue, or are you just being preventative? I only ask because my mom is 82 and is only 4’10” tall, and she thinks my MY is too low, and thus difficult to get in/out of.

My parents have very bad knees and for both of them stepping over the door frame is getting really difficult. Not impossible, but certainly an inconvenience. On our Sorento we have running boards and it’s 10 times easier, since they just step on the board and from there it’s an easy transition into the cabin.

I understand that. My mom could get in and out of my big Ford Expedition much easier than she can get in and out of my new Model Y. It also doesn’t help that the Model Y doesn’t have any “oh shit” handles to grab either.

Yeah, no grab handles is a crime. Tesla makes wonderful cars, but sometimes their obsession to save couple of dollars here and there are just inexcusable. My father almost broke the rear door glass when he was getting out and without anything to grab onto he instinctively held onto the glass (frameless doors didn’t help the matter).

I’m convinced it’s that they don’t do product testing with regular people. Just within their own design team of youngish people with good eyesight and dexterity.

It’s all about Musk. It doesn’t matter what the engineers or the test team think. He would just look over the design and say stupid things like ‘who needs stalks’ or ‘why do we put those grab handles everywhere’ or ‘V2H is overhyped’ or ‘humans don’t have radar in their heads, so why should cars need them’ and nobody would dare to argue with him.

General you want elderly with knee or balance issues to sit down on edge of seat then swing legs in so they are not placing all weight/balance on on bad leg stepping in.
